DO NOT COME HERE!!! I decided to eat at Royal China for my friends birthday, after seeing all the positive reviews about this place. However, it ended up being the most over expensive, poor managed restaurant weve ever been to. Most of the foods were NOT authentic Chinese. I ordered the duck for 20 dollars and the portion delivered was extremely small, not worth the price. I could get a larger portion of duck for only 10 dollars at the Chinese market!! The stir fry tasted like it was made from somewhere like Panda Express! But the worst part of this restaurant was the SERVICE. TERRIBLE SERVICE, HANDS DOWN! I have never been to a restaurant with such terrible service before! The waitress could barely understand English and messed up our orders many times. By the end of the night, she even forgot to charge us for some meals that we ordered. What was so pathetic was the MANAGER. We asked for the manager to help us split the check to avoid letting my friend pay for her birthday dinner. We wanted to split the meal, that my friend ordered, among the 4 of us. However, the manager kept SCREAMING AT US that he cannot do it. First of all, YOU DO NOT EVER SCREAM AT A CUSTOMER, REGARDLESS OF AGE. Second of all, YOU CAN DO IT. you can split the check but it is too "troublesome" to do it. PATHETIC. His attitude and how he handled the entire situation disgusted me so much. I made sure the manager got an ear full from me by embarrassing him at his own restaurant. YOU DO NOT KNOW HOW TO TREAT YOUR CUSTOMERS!!! Im letting everyone know just how bad this restaurant really is. Dont get fooled by the positive reviews like I did, this restaurant is not worth your time.

The service here is beyond AWFUL! Last (and final time) I went there with a couple of friends, and they sat us at the bar. We then noticed that several LARGE insects were crawling all on the walls and out from behind the ovens in the same area that the pot-stickers are made. The cooks were stepping on them and attempted to drown them out with bowls of boiling water. We confronted our waitress about it and she denied it with every excuse possible, and then said that "food no made here". After arguing with her for a good amount of time, one of the cooks confirmed it. I asked to see the manager who denied even knowing what the word "bug" meant. He finally understood and then also denied that anything happened. AGAIN the cook had to tell him that it actually did happen after they argued between themselves in Chinese. I told him that it was disgusting and could potentially be harmful to someone. He replied by snatching up my bill and exclaiming "Ill take care of this!", like that resolves the issue. At the end, I got a free $60 meal, but I still cringe thinking about what could have been in my food.....avoid this place!

Made a reservation for 7:30pm earlier during the day. Lady on the phone stated that they had a lot of reservations for 7pm so it would be better to make a reservation at 8pm. Arrived before 8pm and let them know that we had arrived. They had our name down and just circled it, did not say anything about our table. Waited for 20 minutes and heard the hostess telling someone on the phone that it would be a 20 minute wait. What is so great about making a reservation if you have to wait the same amount of time? Found out that our table had been reserved but no one bothered to seat us. Finally sat down, waited another 30 minutes and decided to flag down a waitress for service. By this time we were already there for 1 hour! and had not even had our drink orders taken. Saw the owner come by and give another table hugs and some welcoming words, the table had arrived at least 20 minutes after us, and got their food at least 10-15 minutes prior to us. The entire evening we had to keep flagging a server down because we couldnt get adequate service. As we were leaving, saw the owner behind the bar, taking a shot of liquor....

This place is extremely overated! Honestly they charge 1.5x the price for the average dumpling. (most Chinese restaurants will serve almost 35 varieties of dumpling (Dimsum)each having 3 to 4 pieces for $3 to $4. This place served me 6 dumpling pieces of each type (they only had about 7 or 8 varieties) for $9 to $10 a plate. So pricing is too high for the quantity. NEXT, the dumplings they did serve really didnt taste as spectacular as you would expect for $9 to $10. I felt like I had wasted my time and money going to this place. Feel embarrassed even writing a review about them. When I told my Chinese friends about the place, they started laughing. They had never heard about it. Take my word for it, there are far less fancier places you could go to and feel much more delighted with what you get to eat. Staff were polite, parking was difficult. Decor was nice but they could have had some classical Chinese instrumental music to go with it and set the ambiance, (especially given their ridiculous prices). No where close in terms of gastronomical satisfaction to what Kirin court or Maxims can deliver.

I dont get what the hype around this restaurant. The food is mostly ok good at best. Not as authentic as everyone makes it out to be... And most of it is average tasting. I couldnt find anything that I thought was a stand out. Dumpling sampler was average. The Hong Shao rou was not good, flavors werent there. The meat was mostly fat and I know its pork belly, but at least try to give pork belly with a semblance of meat. Dan Dan noodles were nowhere close to being like real Dan Dan man. Maybe I just didnt have whats good there (I have had other dishes here, but just cant remember what they are at the moment). There are much better chinese restaurants around that I would easily pick over this. Not to mention the prices are not very good considering the portions or the quality of the food. I made the mistake of giving the place a second try, but in the future I will definitely not be eating here again. With Plano and Richardson just a little bit further, there are much better chinese places to eat at.

I have no idea what people experience with some of the lesser reviews. I walked in for the first time and was greeted by seven people and responded to my wishes to make an item a little spicy. Everyone had a smile on their face and ready to help when a customer came(unlike the sales people running away at some large hardware stores). So got home and started to dine. The preparation was good and then and the flavors were spot on....the home made noodles were delicious . Not your average oily mushy chinese food......homemade noodles great....and yes the hot sour soup was really good. The folks at the two stores i walked into both raved about the place said(both) they suggest them when folks want a place to eat...not that they were looking for chinese food. I know when one looks at reviews you throw out the raves and the bottom one stars....but just try them!
