Ok, been here several times and it was always wonderful, people really nice and the food amazing. Today the staff were SARCASTIC, RUDE, made me cry, and then LAUGHED AT ME for crying. Today I went for lunch and ordered their Fish & Chips (traditional English entree of fish filets and french fries) and although it was tasty, I was disappointed with my dish because I found their menu description to be misleading. Copied and pasted from their downloadable menu: "Salt & Vinegar Fish & Chips - salt and vinegar potato chip crusted wild Alaskan cod, served choice of potato or garden salad 13.49" I read that to mean the Fish & Chips came with a side, either potato salad or garden salad. Its just the way it reads in my opinion. Instead, the waiter only brought me a salad with 2 fish filets and when I asked, said that the salad was instead of the french fries (chips), not as a side. I understood what happened even though Fish & Chips means fish and fries--chips are not assumed to be optional when the name of the entree is "Fish & Chips." If it said "Fish Filets" with your choice of french fries or garden salad, fine. But that was not a big deal. I ate the food and paid the bill. The big deal is when I asked to speak to a manager (AFTER I paid and tipped my waitress) and everyone got really hostile really fast. I never once raised my voice, asked for anything, or even said anything unkind. What I said was, Ive been here before, love it, I just think that this menu description is misleading. Thats it! What I expected them to say was "Im sorry for any confusion, thank you for bringing this to our attention." That would be standard and thats what I expected. Thats it. Instead they said that "NORMAL people know what "or" means" and when I mentioned their sarcasm, said "well were English, what do you expect." Then the manager tried to tell me the "chips" in the fish breading were what the "chips" in the entree name meant. Yeah right. Just to be extra clear, the manager said they just changed this menu description 2 weeks ago because customers werent eating the french fries and were asking for substitutions. The previous description read: "salt and vinegar potato chip crusted wild Alaskan cod, served with fresh cut fries." So (1) they know what Fish & Chips means, and (2) they know the term "french fries" and if they REALLY wanted it to be clear that its an option, in their new description they wouldnt say "choice of potato or garden salad" they would say "choice of french fries or garden salad." Its really not hard, and its really not a big deal. I legitimately think its unclear, and if I were a manager Id want to know if my customers were confused by the wording and disappointed with their entrees because they expect something else. Im just appalled at the rudeness. When I teared up a little, surprised at their sarcasm, they actually laughed at me. I honestly dont know why they didnt just placate me, say "were sorry for the confusion, thank you for letting us know" and that be it. Even if they didnt mean it! Who cares? Ive worked in customer service, its not hard to give a fake apology or even just be polite. Im not saying Im right about the wording, Im not saying its a big deal, Im saying when a customer has a concern (stupid or not), dont be sarcastic with them, call them stupid, make them cry, and then laugh at them. They literally said they "refuse[d] to apologize" which I just dont even understand. No matter how good the food is, I dont think theres any reason to be so nasty. Its very inconsistent with my other experiences with them and its just mean.

My first breakfast in Dallas was here and now my last breakfast in Dallas is here. It really speaks to the quality of Maple Leaf Diner. Come for the Bacon, Chicken, and Waffles but stay for the friendly staff and smiling service. Honestly though, I cant get enough of those waffles. The bacon is crispy and the chicken is flakey but stays together well while you eat it. Furthermore, the waffles are fluffy yet firm firm. A little maple syrup and a pice of strawberry adds the perfect amount of sweetness to the mix. Finally, you get your own little dessert at the end with the cream puffs, though, I never seem to wait to eat those. The waitstaff is also quite friendly as well. I felt taken care of and felt like I was a guest and not just a customer. The waitress added to our conversation instead of just hearing me speak. My coffee never ran out, and I was greeted by the other servers, which really makes it a quality experience. It may be my final day here in Dallas but when I return I hope to come back here again.

They pre-butter in-between the waffles. Glorious. The restaurant has a very fun and friendly vibe. There was a short wait, but we were able to get seated relatively quickly. I ordered the Chicken and Waffles, and my date ordered the Canadian Breakfast. Service was quick, but the server wasnt the most friendly fellow... The food was EXCELLENT. The waffles were perfectly crispy and fluffy (did I mention they pre-buttered in-between the waffles?) The chicken was outstanding and there was plenty of it. One thing I cannot believe though, especially from a Canadian restaurant, the syrup on the table is that fake nasty syrup. You have to pay $3 for a small side of the good stuff. Also, the potatoes with the Canadian Breakfast could use a little salt. Be that as it may, we thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Highly recommend trying this place.

We came on a Sunday morning around 11:15, and we waited about half an hour, which wasnt too bad. The staff here is great and our waitress, Nora, was a gem! We ordered various starters, such as the mozz-sticks (the marinara sauce is v. good) and classic poutine (we got the half size and it was still enough to share!) I ordered the Brunch Burger, and it was huge! All the serving sizes are quite large, and large enough to share, so dont feel shy sharing with a friend! Manager came out and checked on us during our meal. Overall, I highly recommend!

I would not recommend this place. The service was horriable, asked for strawberry jelly and was brought mixed fruit jelly more than once. My friends meal came with mixed fruit and after saying she was allergic to cantaloupe they wanted to charge extra to take the cantoloupe out. The food was not horrid but it wasnt $15 great. Lots of screaming kids at brunch. If you want a true "brunch" experience with great brunch food at the SAME price.... I would stick to the uptown / bishops arts area. I will not be back to this place.

My family of 7 were on a mini vacation and my husband found this amazing place! We live over an hour away but making plans to just drive here to enjoy another wonder meal. The staff was amazing, the restaurant was clean, and food was perfect! My whole family enjoyed everything. I couldnt ask for better food or better service. Also they were very busy but the food was fast and also sat us in about 10 minutes and for a family of 7 that isnt normal! Dont change anything, keep up the great job!

Very disappointing, food was mediocre, which in itself would be a 3 star review, but the service was bad. Repeatedly asked for various things (cup for tea) and this took forever. One of the meals was served cold and then reheated in a microwave. Another was fish and chips ended up being served with potato skins, when I asked for fries, they ended up on the side with a much smaller portion then the potato skins... Which I didnt want. Still, not the worst place Ive ever been to by far.
