Used to be a 5-star review. Food is amazing 98% of the time. My wife and I are regulars here (one or twice a month or so because we drive 20 - 30 minutes from 75287) because the food is pretty much always amazing and servers are usually really good, but on 2/14 (Valentines day), we had a poor experience. Usually when we come, its late at like 2am, relatively busy and our food is out within 20 - 25 minutes. We arrived at 3:20pm and ordered our food (a hippie miss piggie and s steak and egg) with our sodas because we already knew what we wanted and we had a movie to catch at 4:30 (Deadpool) at the Alamo Drafthouse (10 minutes away). If you do the math, thats 50 minutes, which is definitely doable. The whole restaurant had two other tables - one of which were already eating. The staff was hanging out at the bar and talking besides the one guy serving us. The other couple there whom were waiting on their food (two girls), ordered around the same time as we did. The waiter brought us a Dr. Pepper and water. We waited, and after 30 minutes they bright out the other couples sandwiches (30 minutes for sandwiches and garlic marbles?). While the waiter was doing so, he hit one of the sandwiches with a mop handle, stopped, and moved it back into the center of the plate. My wife had half a mind to tell the poor girl, but I didnt want to get the guy in major trouble. After another 15 minutes (45 minutes at this point), our food had still not arrived. I walked over to the waiter (whom was talking to his co-worker as she brought out her own food - weird) and told him to cancel the order because we had a movie to catch. His response? Him: "You want to take it to-go?" Me: "Well I cant exactly take it into the theater, so no..." Him: "Ok, well-" Me: "Look, Ill just pay for the drink. How much is it?" *Pulls out $2 and puts it on the table* "Its actually $2.49" After getting another dollar from my wife, I told him to keep the change and left. Its really sad because this is literally our favorite restaurant and the prices are good and the food is amazing, but it might be a little while before we go again. How can a restaurant be so slow and understaffed on Valentines Day? Especially when there was no-one there?

Ill admit it. Ive never been a fan of BUZZBREWS regardless of the location. Went there for lunch today with TheBetterHalf® because shes always been a fan of the black bean omelette. (It has a much trendier, more hipster-appealing name than that. A name that I have thankfully forgotten.) After todays meal, well not be returning. The food was lousy, and the service was worse—beginning with the fact that we had to hunt up our own napkins and flatware once our appetizer arrive. And it wasnt so busy that this would be forgivable. There were fewer than 20 patrons total. While the BuNachozz (I think I have that name right) were pretty good, the rest of my meal was mediocre, and TheBetterHalf® wouldnt touch hers. At one point, the clueless waiter (ignoring the full plate of food next to TheBetterHalf®) asked, "How is everything"? Um ... other than the inedible black bean omelette that has very few black beans in it, the bacon which has been cooked into carbon, and the garlic marbles which do resemble marbles though lack any distinctive taste of garlic ... its fantastic, thanks! At least my pancakes tasted like pancakes.

Odd, just odd. Large combination bar / coffee shop / 24 hour diner. Im skeptical about coffee shops with a bar, but at least when I was there (7pm on a Thursday in August 2017), there were only five tables occupied, all solos or in quiet conversation. Classic rock on the radio was a bit loud though. Decor is just strange: diner/restaurant tables, weird rubber ceiling, disco balls and thift store hanging lights, and miscellaneous bad art. Nice ductwork. Several outlets, and the waitress intuited I was looking for one and took me to a table that had one. Very friendly waitstaff. Free wi-fi from Zen: requires an email address (make sure you have your disposable one - I never have figured out when Zen is up to). Large menu of diner food. Lots of coffee drink. Small collection of bagged teas and chai from a mix. Small selection of desserts (cake, milk shakes, Nutella crepe).

I have not dined at this restaurant so I cannot speak to the food or service, but I can speak to the way they conduct business. I went on a busy Friday afternoon during my lunch hour to grab a bite to eat at Chipotle (next door to Buzzbrews) and had to park in Buzzbrews parking lot. Granted there was a sign about towing (I was in the wrong), but it was the middle of the afternoon and there were several empty parking spots for Buzzbrews customers. I was in Chipotle for less than 45 minutes and when I came out my car had been towed. I understand businesses have a right tow if cars are impacting their business, but that was not the case today. I think it is bad business for a restaurant to have such little discretion in how they treat potential customers. I have not eaten at this establishment and now I never will, nor will the 5 other people that were with me.

Have had a good brunch experience on a Sunday, and on a later Monday found it to be a nice dinner and cafe experience, nice food, a mix of 80s music for getting some late work done in a casual atmosphere, still they closed at midnight so...on the third visit, the cafe had "entertainment" - it went from a blaring trivia game (which we can still deal with) to people playing the videogame Rockband through a PA! We tried complaining over the din but were met with "we have entertainment every night Wed-Sat... at least a couple others complained, then got up and left. And finally we couldnt take it any more and left as well. So, my advice is it could have been a good place to chill and eat and work or play, but watch out for the "entertainment" nights, poke your head in and find out if someones screaming tunelessly first.

I used to go to BuzzBrews all the time back in 2010 and 2011 when Harrison was the manager and it was fabulous. Am back in town for the holidays and decided to take my mother and husband there to show off my old favorite and had an absolutely terrible experience. The restaurant was empty and the food took 25 minutes to arrive. Our waitress was awful, one of our orders was messed up and instead of offering to fix it she said they could make a new one but we would have to pay for BOTH orders! We asked to speak to the manager who came over with a surly attitude and was no help. I cannot adequately express how disappointed I am at the decline in service at this restaurant. It used to be one of my favorite spots in the city and now the service is so bad I will not go back.

First visit. Came on a Saturday evening. There were three other tables in the restaurant. After placing our orders, we waited 30 mins & then asked about our food. The waiter let us know that the kitchen was running slow and that someone had just waited over 20 mins for a bowl of oatmeal. I could understand slow ticket times if they had a packed house, but with a total of four tables (some of which already had food), their ticket times should definitely be under a half hour. He couldnt give us an ETA on our food, so we paid for our beverages and left hungry. May try again. If that experience is different, Ill update this review.
