Horrible experience that ended in the server yelling at me. Waited 30 minutes to be greeted by our server and place an order. 10 minutes later, I asked for our drinks because it seemed like he forgot. Never got refills or our food. After waiting an hour, from the time we were seated, the server comes over and says he forget to put in our order. Rather than wasting anymore time here, I silently stood up and grabbed my bag to leave. The server starts yelling at me, telling me I am rude, and he was going to offer us free breakfast but not anymore. I literally said nothing. After I walked away I realized that I maybe explaining my experience would help some other poor customer in the future. I turned around, walked back to the server, and was about to explain, we had waited for an hour. They guy starts yelling at me again. All I said in response to his ranting was he was unprofessional and left. I thought about speaking to the manager, but it seemed like he might actually be the manager because he had no idea how to serve.

We had to sample everything after reading the reviews...popovers (divine, served with fresh strawberry butter), pancakes (made with ricotta...served with fresh strawberries and whipped cream - to die for), and then a rancheros-type scramble for the main course (we were stuffed at this point but could not stop eating. Considering it is in a tired strip mall we were leary as we approached the door, but our group of both kids and adults all rated it a 5 out of 5. Worth the drive. Side note: we thought we would try their downtown location for dinner. My son ordered the exact same thing he had for breakfast at the north location because he loved it so much. Unfortunately the popovers were cold, the dream cake came without whipped cream, and the eggs were disgusting. My dinner was salty and the steak tasted a bit old and game-y. Not at all impressed with the south location. Next time we are in Texas we will stick with the Carrollton location.

Dream Cafe turns into NIGHTMARE. The sad part the food is great. The cloud cakes are some of the best pancakes Ive ever had. The Pumpkin Spice latte was far better then any coffee house coffee. The problem comes if you choose to pay in cash. I got the ticket in a book to pay for the meal. I put two twenties into the book which our waitress picked up and asked if I needed change, which I said yes too. A few minutes later the manager comes out with the book in his had to discuss the coupons I was using. After getting that worked out, the waitress returns with the book in her hand saying there was no money in it. I asked if I could talk to the manager. Before I could finish asking she states that he said there was no money either. I know how much money I had in my wallet, and two twenties were all that was missing. Police report and bbb complaint filed. If you enjoy good food and dont pay in cash, its a great place.

The food here is very good. But the service is awful. Weve waited about 5 minutes at door before we were even acknowledged. Even though several staff walked by, we didnt even get a greeting. Then when someone does acknowledge us, the response to my comment of "that was an extremely long wait before we were even acknowledge," was "yeah, well this is really business for three server, believe me, you could waited for 35 minutes, like others." Frankly, I dont care if you are business....that isnt the retort you give to a potential customer. I didnt have a problem with waiting for a table, I had a problem with not being acknowledged. With staff looking you right in eye, and not greeting you. This is my most recent experience, but have had similar Ines before. Like the food once it comes....its just the crappy service while waiting for the food. On the fence, as to whether we will give it another try.

I came to the Dream Cafe because of the vegan breakfast and it was great, my only complaint about the food was the side of avocado was the size of a quarter- a little disappointing for those of us that dont get the fat from other sources. I decided to sit at the bar to speed up service- big mistake! The service was really bad. It took ten minutes to get a cup of coffee, then I had to wait another five minutes for the soy creamer. I asked a server for assistance as the bartender was really backed up and she said no!!! Finally I found a server that would help me out and that was good. I wasnt given water, so then I waited for that as well. The bartender didnt speak loud enough, so we had some communication issues. I loved the food, but will not be back as it was not the relaxing experience I had hoped for. It is also expensive for what you get.

The Addison dream cafe has a one of the two best patios in the area (despite the poor view): its got an even shade/sunshine balance, a cooling summertime breeze, and plenty of foliage to counteract the areas usual concrete vistas. The food is tasty and wholesome with plenty of fresh options, whole grains and fresh vegetables, and vegetarian friendly fair (beyond just salads). The lunch and dinner menu is vaguely Mediterranean inspired with a few dishes of a more Tex-Mex nature, and a nod to the deep South in their tasty cheese grits. The brunch menu is more northern: Belgian waffles; pancakes that achieve an amazingly light, fluffiness (thanks to ricotta cheese); omelettes; benedicts; and steak and eggs dominating. One dish tips the hat to a more traditional Texas style breakfast. The service, while friendly, isnt quick -dont come if youre in a hurry.

If you love Dennys, youll REALLY enjoy Dream Cafe. I used to LOVE eating at Dream Cafe. Dallas and the Addison location, went there all the time: food was fresh, clean, and hearty. Its been a few years since Ive gone and decided to swing by for a bite last Sunday. The veggie omelet: It was so greasy, it was best to avoid keeping it near an open flame once it arrived at my table. The mushrooms had the consistency of beef jerky, the hashbrowns could have been rung out from all the oil and the coffee had the delightful flavor of Sanka, if you had used twice the water during the brew. Advice: Clean your griddle, try to use less than a cup of cooking oil per egg, upgrade the "coffee" (brown water)...its worth the added expense. (As a coffee addict, we will drive across town just for a good cup)

Decided to go for brunch after reading all the great reviews. It was interesting. We got there about 12:30pm on a Sunday and were seated right away. The food was good although I wish I had ordered one of their specialties instead of the eggs (my mistake). My husband had the spinach and eggs Benedict and was very happy with his food. My son ordered the chicken and waffles and declared it the best hes ever had. He was also happy with the tropical smoothie. We also ordered the popovers - I was disappointed that they were cold. I am used to eating warm/hot popovers. I was glad I ordered a latte as the drink tasted much, much better than their house coffee. Will definitely visit again and try the granola French toast.
