I had went in today to have breakfast with my spouse and we were greeted by a server named Karla. She asked took our beverage order and i order a hazelnut iced coffee i tasted it and it wasnt sweet at all so i asked if i could have more of the hazelnut syrup to sweeten it and she told me thats why they had sugar on the table. So i asked for the syrup because thats what i wanted and she relunctantly brought me more. When it came to food i ordered my eggs over medium as i have always ordered them my whole life. They were over cooked so when i told karla she said it wasnt over medium that i wanted it was over easy and i told her that i didnt like them over easy because the egg whites do cook all the way. She still did it her way and brought them over easy which i didnt touch because i dont enjoy egg whites uncooked all the way. She didnt ask me she just notice i didnt touch them so she took the plate away and brought me my check and my wife hadnt finish eating so i felt obligated to take the rest of my wifes food in a togo box. This is not a place i plan on returning to. Same price as ihop but lower service standards.

I have always heard great things about The Egg and I so I was very eager to give it a try. I took my boyfriend to breakfast there about 3 weeks ago and the food was GREAT! Until my boyfriend found hair in his food... We know stuff happens and I enjoyed mine so much we decided to give it another try. Last Sunday I took my grandmother and brother with us to The Egg and I to give it another shot. Sunday I was hospitalized for food poisoning after eating at The Egg and I. When I was discharged from the hospital Monday I called to speak to a manager and give them a heads up. I felt maybe the kitchen wasnt being as careful as they should be and maybe thats why we had 2 bad experiences in a row at such an "awesome" place. I was told the owner would be calling me within the next few hours. I never received a phone call or even an apology. I can take a lot but the lack of customer service is what sealed the deal. I wont be going back to The Egg and I and wont be recommending it to anyone in the future.

Ive been coming here pretty regularly since I moved to Addison seven months ago. The African-American woman who always greets me is the sweetest person there without a doubt. Shes always smiling and has a great attitude! Kudos to you!!! I dont really think theres anything exceptional about their food, but its always dependable and served hot! I feel like its healthier than most places and the Kale Cooler is a great juice they make in house! All of the servers I have had have been friendly and really nice with the exception of this redheaded woman that I cant remember the name of. Ive had her the last couple of times Ive been there. She never says thank you and is never friendly. I hope everything is ok for her. Overall this is a quaint, speedy, and affordable restaurant that has some above average food that is geared towards the breakfast/lunch/brunch crowd.

This place is AMAZING! I had some friends come into town and wanted to take them somewhere other than the typical Dennys or IHOP for breakfast so I searched for breakfast places and The Egg and I popped up. After looking at the reviews we decided to give it a try and Im so glad we did. I will never go back to those chains again. This place is truly one of a kind. The staff is very courteous the overall atmosphere is wonderful. Its a quaint little place that has a homey feel to it. The portions are very big; you definitely get your moneys worth. The food is so delicious just writing about it makes me want to go get some now. I ordered the Garden Fritata and loved it, but I dont think there is anything on the menu that isnt good. If you want delicious food, great service, and a relaxing atmosphere I would definitely recommend this place!

The prices are too expensive and food is just blah. Service is just OK compared to other rest around the area. Decor, what decor, it looks like grandmas house. Orange Juice is not fresh and expensive. They get 2 stars because we got seated right away and had parking(like every place in Dallas, you know what taking off a star . PS: i went with a 1 year old and asked if we can get a 1 slice of bread for her.. Waitress said sure and charged us $1 dollar. All this while spending $30 in breakfast. Seriously? a 1 year old that does not yet eat much i paid for the entire bag of bread with that 1 slice. Thats just shameful

First and last time to go to this place....not so sure if it was a racial issue, but once me and my family got there we had to wait to get seated..(no problem) but more families were coming after us and they got their table and their service...once we got a table and our food was order once again the new families that were arriving were getting their food first, the waitress never asked if we wanted refills in our drinks ,eggs were not made as we order them, bread was burn not toasted,it wasnt worth the trip or the $$$....Waffle House is better

I have been here 11 times and there is always a wait. The food and service are great so I understand. The food is always as Ive ordered it (with no hair). The service is as expected friendly but they are busy so no chitchat. Sat where I could see the kitchen and was amazed at how well everyone worked together including the manager. Very impressed when I saw the manager tell a waitress she needed to put her hair up and she replied with a smile and did it. Today is valentines day and every mother received a carnation. Nice touch.

I was taking a class nearby and this place caught my eye, mainly because of the catchy name. The servers were very friendly and attentive. I had the corn beef hash and eggs which is difficult to find here in Texas. It was very good. The food that was being brought out to other customers looked tempting and delicious. The restaurant had a very nice homey comfortable feel and I did not feel out of place dining alone and was treated equally with all the other customers. I will definitely return!

This is the first bad experience I have had at an Egg &I restaurant. We were there for 30 minutes before we saw our drinks and 45 minutes before we saw our food. We tried to purchase a gift card for a friend at checkout and that was a real ordeal that took an additional eight to 10 minutes longer than necessary. Training new people on the job is necessary and I understand that. But you should not let it affect the service in such a manner.

After being frustrated trying to find a place for breakfast in Dallas that could accommodate a group, I happened upon The Egg and I. They responded immediately to my questions and provided both a place and a delicious Sunday breakfast for my group of 25. Service was excellent and the manager was courteous and helpful. I definitely recommend this as the place to go in Dallas if you are looking for a delicious, reasonably priced breakfast.
