We recently moved up here from San Antonio and my expectations may have been a bit too high for this establishment. I thought the pricing was high for a regular Mexican plate or enchilada plate ($13.00 or so). Ive lived in Texas 34 years and this has been the most expensive mom and pop Mexican food place Ive been to. Chips and salsa were great. Completely fresh. Chicken fajita was actually just cut up chicken breast. Tortillas seemed too thick for my taste. The place could use a deeper cleaning too (ceiling fans were covered in dust/dirt buildup). My husband couldnt stop sneezing after we left. Ambiance was festive and entertaining but we wont be visiting this place again.

Gonzalez is very traditional Tejano with a good menu and good service, The fresh chips and Gonzalez salsa are excellente and all you want. The quality of the restaurant does not go unnoticed when the well cooked orders with generous portions are delivered hot and steaming to the table. The overall experience is enjoyable and festive in the always clean friendly restaurant, The price for the meal is more than fair and there will be no doubt that a return visit will be in the near future.

Mi amigo naco, julian, me llevo. Las tortillas de harina fueron el max; muy muy buenas. Pero Los frijoles me hicieron bien pedorra. Mis tacos le faltaban ser mas crispí, pero sirvieron como bueos chips para mis frijoles perrones. Gracias Mr. González

Went here today for Fathers day my husband, my son and I ordered menudo.it was really bad it tasted like it was not washed correctly. My husband and my son ate some of it and they ended up getting sick while we were still there. I tasted two spoons of it and I said no way Im eating this. I told the waiters and I ended up order something else, but my husband and my son where feeling sick and they just didnt want to order anything else. Yes the tortillas were very good.

Yuck! Worst Mexican food I ever had. Only good thing about it was the tortillas which is why I gave one star. This place is very high priced for the quality of food they serve. Their menudo taste like it came out of a can and is like 10 bucks a bowl. In that case you are better off buying a can of menudo for a couple bucks because thats what it tastes like. The server never came back to check on us after serving us. We will not be going back ever again.

Food was plain, with no taste. Rice wasnt typical Mexican rice. Fish had no flavor, had a dirty taste to it as if it hadnt been washed right, and absolutely no type of seasoning in the breading. The chicken flautas were the same chicken was flavorless. And rice wasnt even hot, it was cold and so were the flour tortillas were cold aswell. Most definitely wont be returning to this restaurant EVER!!!!!!

First time here and the first thing I noticed was beverages. There were no free refills. All drinks were 2.95. The Horchata was 3.25. Why make the Horchata more expensive. Second the server rushed us to get our order and then snatched the menus from us. The food took 30 minutes to come out and it was no where near busy. It was my first time here and I did not like it at all. I am not going back

the food was tasteless (and no worth the price), the services awful, the place was dirty and they actually sat me and my family (with 2 babies)in a corner where the AC was dripping. this was the worse experience i had in a restaurant(if we can call it that, even the outside looks like a restaurant out of money and going to close)

Food is hot, fresh, and well served. Not too crazy about the warm salsa, but the cold salsa is great. Friendly staff, pleasant atmosphere, and nice seasonal decor. Reasonably priced, and they dont scrimp on lunch specials like a lot of places. Really worth visiting, oh, and they have the best tortillas in town.

The best Mexican restaurant ever! Been going since I was a kid and the food is still the best. Get the parillada platter. Its fajita meat, with chicken, sausage links, and bistek steak with sautéed onions and peppers. Amazing! This place would win an award for best tortillas of all time. None compare!

This is an average, non-remarkable, Mexican restaurant. The chips are served in a small bowl. The prices are comparably steep, especially for the surprisingly small portion sizes. The food taste was average at best. I doubt ill be going back here. I have a feeling theres much better in Dallas.

You want good atmosphere, music and food? This is the place to go if you are in the Grove. Love coming here with my family and enjoying some good food since 10 years ago when it was in the small plaza next to it. The parking space could use some work, but overall great place to eat.

This is our spot for Tex mex food. If you like mole, then you definitely need to try the mole enchiladas! They are the bomb. Go see my boy Lalo because he will take good care of you. Everything is pretty much the bomb here. Homemade tortillas that will fill you up with just one.

The chips and salsa was not good at all. The food was ok, nothing great. Service needs improvement. There was not allot of people when we went and yet the food took time. Even for a beverage I had to flag our waiter down. Were definitely not going back.

I dont know why everyone always kept telling me this place was good. The queso looks like it came out of a can. I got a shrimp cocktail and it had little itty-bitty shrimp that taste like plastic. Even the flour tortillas look store bought.

My favorite restaurant. Have been going there since it was a very small place next to the meat market had a few tables and a sit down counter. Known the owners and glad the food has not changed since their move to the bigger place.
