Picked this place for a first date. I had never been to a Pappadeaux restaurant before so thought i would give it a try. I will say that the front door staff (hostess) and wait staff were great however, the food sucked. my shrimp cocktail was flavorless and tasted fishy. My Shrimp Creole and Grits were flavorless and fishy tasting too. My date ordered fried shrimp which came with fries. they were so salty it was like someone pored on several pounds. All that was asked for the wait staff was to remove the fried shrimp from our ticket and not re-make the food. However the manager on duty kept bothering us over and over insisting that the food be remade and that they do more then just remove it from the bill . We told her that removing it from the bill was enough. The manager came back bothering us yet again telling us she not only removed the fried shrimp but also remove my Shrimp Creole from the bill and again offered to make anything on the menu for us. We told her no and then she insisted on giving us a gift card to come back. Again we politely declined. A moment later the manager came back again interrupting our date giving us a $15 gift card that we told her to take away of which she refused to do. All said and done we paid and got the hell out of there. I would say 1. My date was ruined buy the manager not leaving us alone 2. the food is overpriced flavorless crap. 3. the manager does not know when enough is enough and when to back off and let the guest enjoy their time and date. 4. I will never recommend this or any Pappadeaux restaurant to anyone. In fact I will tell everyone to avoid it like the plague. I would have considered giving it another try but the manage ruined my experience by being too much in our face. She needs to learn when someone says no they dont want anything else to just let it go and back the hell up out of our date. She even tried to offer dessert to my date who is diabetic.

This review is not for the food or the service. This is more about the lack of the management skill and the customer service skill from the manager when we were here. My friend and I really enjoyed the food and the service from our waitress Paige. Everything was great until we were about to pay. We previously purchased two $100 gift cards. Pappadeaux had this promotion that you receive two $10 gift cards when you puchase one $100 gift card. We were planning to use this one $10 gift card and pay the rest on the credit card. To keep it short, the employee must have not activated the $10 gift card when we purchased one of the $100 gift cards. Its okay, people make mistakes. We waited 20 minutes and couldnt wait longer since we had to get to somewhere. When we walked to the manager where the main entrance is and mentioned that we have to leave, the manager said 1) we have to wait if we want to use this $10 card (after 20 minutes waiting) 2) we have to pay the full price if we want to leave now (again after 20 minutes). 3) When I told the manager that its not right to make customers wait this long when your employee made a mistake by not activating the card not us (the customers), he said "I didnt activate the card either." (Seriously did you just say that and you call yourself a manager???) He said all these things but sorry or any sort of apology. I explained to the manager a few times that he should take care of this AFTER we leave after making us wait for 20 minutes. He didnt listen and kept making calls to take care of this. We finally got settled with this after 25-30 minutes (The waitress took our payment at 10:05pm and we walked out of the door at 10:30-35pm.) I have been in customer service industry many years, been a manager at a corporate company, and I have NEVER seen any employer or manager take care of their customers and the matter this way.

Came here for Fathers Day Lunch, it was very crowded but there was plenty of waiting space for everyone, there was bar tops in the bar and there was the patio that also had an outdoor bar. The wait was not too bad. When we got seated there were a bunch of open tables, but I assume it was kept empty because the kitchen might have been over worked. The menus were awfully dirty, it looked like someone might of had their entire meal over the menu and it was never cleaned. It was quite gross to start off with. The bread is delicious it was warm and slightly toasty. We ordered the boudin and the size of this dish was enough for 4 people to share. The food was hit or miss, depending on the dish you got. But all the entrees are giant. We all ordered from the Lunch menu option, but one of the plates was mistakenly charged for the dinner plate so Im not sure if it was the actual dinner plate that we received. There is so much food that you can share an entree between two people. I had the pasta and it wasnt very good, it was very bland and the chicken was super dry. The crawfish combination was good however. The fried catfish was good, the amount of french fries you get is overwhelming. The french fries were a little soaked in oil. The server was great she was super nice and kept us all refilled. The food however did take a long time, it took about 45 minutes, much longer than our wait to get a table. Some of the dishes were cold due to the wait. There is plenty of parking since the restaurant next door doesnt actually exist. Im not sure if I would return at this time or recommend it. It might have been just an off day for them since its fairly new and it was a holiday.

OK, so obviously Pappadeaux is awesome.... This location in particular is great. The location, the building, the atmosphere, the staff and the food is exactly what you expect from a restaurant run as professionally as Pappas. There was a few hiccups on out last visit. Not to sound like a snob, but the lobster was not served with butter or tools and our server seemed a little out of her mind. However, the food was amazing. I had the shrimp and cheese grits (BTW, shut up and try the grits! I waited too long and learned that my life has been missing grits). Shrimp was plump and seasoned well. My wife had the salmon, which was rich but fantastic. The kids had lobster and mac and cheese - which sounds ridiculous, but it was a birthday thing. I have one gripe though... It involves squishy bread and a chef... My daughter left a squishy toy bread loaf in the family bathroom. When we realized and went back to retrieve it the bathroom was occupied. We left to tell the hostess to keep an eye out and missed our chance to take a look. We waited for a really long time at the FAMILY bathroom, my 5 year old girl and I. Finally, when the door opened, an employee chef walked out by herself. It is frustrating as a father of daughters when single people use the family bathroom because it is hard for a father to take his daughter to the toilet otherwise. Now an employee had wasted our time, which resulted in the thief of the bread having enough time to destroy the bread, because they thought the bread was unloved. Please Pappas, dont let your employees use the family restroom; the next ruined bread may be yours...
