My husband likes catfish so we went, because he has been ill and I wanted him to be happy and I only eat the shrimp. If you are going to a buffet you know what you are getting, if you go to a restaurant where you expect the food brought to your table that is what you want and that is what we wanted here. SO we walk in and they have this "express lunch" we tell the manager we do not want this; we want to sit at a table and he basically forces us to eat at this "buffet" this is a salad bar that has lettuce and tomatoes and cheese. You order from the line cook and seat yourself. The other items are coleslaw that is it. I ordered my shrimp and we got tea from the server that only came by once. We had to wait to ask for extra napkins because my shrimp were so greasy. And to top this all off the lunch was $25.00 we will never go back! The manager was saying how great it was because you cut down on the servers and they get paid better.....amazing that you write a review and they cannot even answer it

This restaurant has a very awesome person in their waitstaff. His name is Jonathan(I believe). I wish I couldve tipped him generously. He was a very wholesome, humble individual. Everyone in that restaurant who was waited on by him was intrigued by his overall kindness, knowledge of the food served, and attentiveness. He did not skip a beat. We almost wondered if he was in the wrong place! After 5 minutes of meeting Jonathan(I believe) we thought he was one of the most awesome inspiring people weve ever come across. We stopped here on our way to San Antonio because we were pretty hungry. Anyway, the food... the food was pretty good and priced adequately . I give it high marks and would recommend it to anyone passing through G-town. That food could be awful, but because Jonathan(I believe)was there Id still give it a 5*.

They can be a bit pricey unless you go during lunch. They have several options and you can eat what fits in your budget. During lunch they have all you can eat sides. Now you can get the all you can eat fish & popcorn shrimp for 13.99 (so thats all you can eat sides AND all you can eat fish & shrimp its a great deal!). They also have a Large plate that comes with 6 pieces of fish and all you can eat sides for 11.99, the Medium plate with 4 fish & the same sides for 9.99 and the Small/Senior plate with sides for 8.99. You cant beat it! Plus, the service is awesome! The 1st time we went we had BeBe, she was terrific! The 2nd time we had Angie and she was just as helpful and as good as BeBe. I definitely suggest hitting up the lunch buffet if youve never been.

Spent last 2 weeks in Charleston SC vacationing and solar eclipse and looking for good seafood. Didnt find ANY. Got home today. Driving to Super HEB decided to stop at Catfish Parlour. The place is incorrectly named. We had talipia and rainbow trout. OUTSTANDING. And all the included extras, too. Wasted money looking in Charleston. Service was topnotch with Bebe as our server. She recommend all sorts of sides. Complimentary hush puppies with two dipping sauces, sea food to die for.

So.. the casual atmosphere was appealing. The server was nice, professional, and personable (josh). The food was okay, not excellent, not bad. The bathroom was clean and upgraded. What I really disliked was the greasy feeling of everything I.e. The menu, table, chair, floors. I did enjoy the original coleslaw with cucumber that came out for the table. Also, a surprise was the garden salad (bar ) that vi guess came with my meal.

The service was good but the food was not up to what one would expect! Had the lunch buffet and got 4 pieces of pre-breaded shrimp direct form a box for 13.00... outrageous! I would expect that from Jack-in-the-Box, not from a seafood restaurant. Im sorry the waitress got shafted on the tip but $40.00 was the most I was willing to pay for a lunch buffet for 2 people. This was my third time here and it will be my last!

I love coming here for the atmosphere and the food.. Great place to sit down and forget about the day and love your family while you eat great fish! If you get the bottomless catfish make sure you are super hungry! If not just get the catfish plate.. It will fill you and you wont waste any money. If you are super hungry and can eat more than 3 bowls of fish then okay get the bottomless catfish

Its within walking distance of our house but we dont go very often. More expensive than one would expect for the quality of food being served. The "salad bar" is just cheap romaine lettuce and shrimp are prohibitively expensive. A whole bag of catfish cooked at home for ~$7 or three pieces for $12 =/ We only go there when I want catfish but am too tired/lazy to cook it myself.

The service is wonderful. I spent the entire meal wishing our server was my aunt or something. Our food came out quickly, perfectly cooked, and incredibly delicious. The atmosphere is cozy and family friendly. Even the dressing at the salad bar was great. I dont have a single negative thing to say.

Its by far the best catfish beans and cole slaw i have ever eaten. I tried cherry creek and it was good but not even close to catfish parlour. The decor in all the catfish parlour resyraunts is really cool and a very good history lesson. Awesome places. I will go back hundreds of times.

I am originallly from South Louisiana and this place reminds me of some of the seafood places back home. Someone recommended this restaurant to me when I was lamenting about missing great seafood. I have taken my parents here several times. Food and service great. Family friendly too.

I always love going to catfish parlor, either location. Food is always well prepared and I always over indulge in those fantastic hush puppies & sauce. Prices are decent and their lunch buffet is great also. You can just get the veggies if that is what you like.

Food was great and so was the service. Food was reasonably priced and was served fast. I have been to the catfish parlor in Austin this one was much neater and cleaner . Even the decor was nicer. Definitely worth the money

This was our first time and it was a great experience. The service was great. Our waitress Theresa was very welcoming and helpful. The fried catfish was fresh and flaky, and the spicy catfish was juicy and delicious.

An exact replica of the North Austin location. Its old-fashioned cooking...lots of butter and macerated veggies and bacon fat in everything...not my cup of tea but the catfish is great, which I guess is the main point!

Good solid fried catfish place. Best deal to me is the all you can eat catfish plate. 50/50 spicy vs regular monthly. There hush puppies and jalapeno tater sauce for doing is a unique and good appetizer.
