We just moved from California to Sun City Texas and we had the "great" fortune to stumble across the Fish City Grill. We snuggled up to the bar and were immediately welcomed. I ordered the CRAB BISQUE just to try the place out and WOW...just WOW! It was the best crab bisque I have ever had. Please know this is crazy to say since we really value the Culinary Institute in Napa, CA, which is a spectacular dining establishment. Walt, my terrific hubby, who had to sample my soup after listening to me moan, and rave about it...intercepted a spoonful before the bowl was void AGREED...BEST CRAB BISQUE HE HAD EVER HAD TOO!! He returned to his tasty gumbo but did say he will order that next time for sure! We are foodies and we are encouraging you to challenge our taste buds. We cant wait to hear what other people think! OK, so the only down side is the heavy cream; yep, just drink more wine and it will be all good!!! (Not a soup to order if you are really trying to lose weight, right! What the Heck...you only live once! BISQUE-AWAY I SAY!!) Next visit we will dive into the menu further; perhaps we will try the blackened Red Fish, the waffle fries and the fish tacos next because of the reviews we read. We will see if things go south, but we are thinking this will not be the case.

My husband and I discovered this place a couple of weeks ago and were quite impressed by the great food and awesome service. Seth, our waiter, was friendly and highly attentive with extensive knowledge of the menu. He recommended the oyster nachos, which were very tasty. I loved the light cornmeal batter on the oysters, just like Grandma used to make! With Seth as our server, we never had to ask for extra napkins or wait on drinks or refills; he was on top of things. Head chef Mike even stopped by our table, as it was our first time dining there, to offer us four samples of the different soups they make in-house (all of which were delicious, I might add). I also noticed that chef Mike made sure to walk the entire restaurant often, giving attention to detail and making sure everything was as it should be and that his customers were happy. Our entrees were amazing (blackened redfish for my hubby and steelhead trout, a seasonal selection, for me). Seth was even kind enough to comp us a dessert (a yummy bread pudding), as it was our anniversary dinner. What a wonderful dining experience! Thank you Seth and Mike especially. We highly recommend Fish City Grill and will most definitely be back.

I dont know what I just ate, but it was NOT fish tacos. I dont know what kind of overzealous chef came up with these concoctions, but just because you put flour, cheese, and tomato together you are not making pizza. The "fish tacos" I ordered were 1. In a flour tortilla. 2. Rolled like a burrito. 3. Had a "tangy" sauce. 4. Didnt come with lemons or limes. So the food itself left a LOT to be desired. The other 2 plates I ordered had very little substance as well. And while the crab cake I ordered looked like... A crab cake; if youre looking for a specific authentic dish, true to its name, you will NOT find it here. The only reason it got more than 1 star is because the setting, and the staff are friendly and adequate.

We found Fish City Grill just this past week. Boy, were we surprised. The food is delicious and the staff is excellent and caring. On our first visit, the waitress told the manager, Michael, and he came over to talk to us and bring us a sample of each of their soups as well as their Wednesday Oyster Tacos. We went back tonight for my wifes birthday and had another excellent meal and Michael came out and welcomed us and we told him we were back again celebrating my wifes birthday and he promptly suggested we try the beignets, which we did and they were scrumptious. Try this place. Prices are reasonable for the excellent quality and amount of food you receive.

The food is pretty good, and its consistent. Location is OK, parking is kind of a hassle but thats not really their fault so much as its just Wolf Ranch having horrible parking lots. The service is a different story. Sometimes it is on point, other times it is horrible. It isnt uncommon to be waiting on your food or a drink refill and see staff just milling around aimlessly. I think it boils down to management...they need to have more of a customer-centered approach that empowers everyone to chip in. You can tell its a silo approach where everyone has a narrow job description. FCG benefits from not having much (if any) competitive seafood restaurants in Georgetown.

They have a chili pepper soup that is just lovely. Fish tacos are excellent. I just moved to Georgetown area and checking out restaurants and I think this place has excellent food. I think there is new management since some of the other reviews, because I found the service to be really excellent. I think the staff is great. Oh, yeah! They have the best cheeseburger I have ever had! If you want a refreshing menu with really tasty food, this is it!

Excellent food and nice staff. The oyster nachos were the best oysters I have ever eaten. We tried many of their soups and decided on the grilled shrimp and the shrimp and grits. Both were amazing. I stick pretty close to what I know and the grilled shrimp were perfect. My wife got the grits and shrimp. Neither of us have had grits that were that creamy and good. First class food at a cool fish place!

Was blown away with how friendly the staff was. The manager greeted us and served us some samples of their oyster nachos and soups. Definitely worth getting a full order of the nachos. They are awesome!! The waiter and hostess were both very friendly as well and made sure that everything was perfect. Good menu selection and everything was fresh and flavorful. This will be a regular stop for us now.

A sandwich, fish and shrimp, a beer and tea. $45.00 seriously? Now wonder the restaurant was empty at 7 pm on a thursday. Had to skimp on the tip because the bill was so much, poor lady didnt deserve that. Food wasnt all that tasty either. I guess if you got money falling out your butt this is the place to go, not so much for the simple mans dinner though.

LOVE love this place! Hubby and I go at least once a month. I ALWAYS order the Spicy shrimp and we usually split the entree, and its just enough! The frozen margaritas are AWESOME! Never been disappointed. The Chef Mike makes the BEST banana pudding this side of the Pecos..lol Our last waiter was Carlos-what a wonderful personality!

Damn good food and better service. Went to eat, knew it was late, and got served anyway. Decided to top off the meal with 2 lbs. of crawfish. When I ordered it I did not realize it was 4 min. till closing. The hooked us up anyway and it was great. Will be back for more. Thank you Fish City Grill. P.S., got a Military discount.
