So over the years my family has gone to the Jigger Shop. Each year the prices have gotten higher and the ice cream size has gotten smaller. This year I paid $8 for two small ice creams. When they came out I was shocked to see that I had a minuscule scoop in each dish. Im talking baby size, it took two spoonfuls to finish it. The girls working there also were not very friendly, and were not working to clear the line. Instead they seemed to be "working on their time". I stood in line for 30 minutes, with only two people in front of me. The jigger shop is in a beautiful location and its a shame that the service and serving sizes arent better.

Place was packed to the point that people were eating standing on the curb. Waited in line for over 30 minutes for food. The table we were fortunate to get wasnt cleaned after the last person left and baskets of half eaten food sat beside us as we ate. The chicken Caesar wrap was mostly lettuce and had little chicken or dressing. Finally dessert which had to be ordered at a separate window. Another 30 minutes The ice cream was decent but way over priced. It may have been Labor Day weekend but still it was crazy.

This is a great place to get a quick bite or a sundae over the summer. It has a nostalgic feel, and the prices are not at all bad. The food and ice cream are great, the staff are really nice, and it is just enjoyable to sit under the shaded patio on a July afternoon and enjoy your time there. I went here many times with my family as a kid, and after being away for many years it was as great as I remembered. I would suggest it to anyone who wants a nice experience one summer afternoon.

Love the Jigger Shop! Its located in a wooded area that seems like its its own little community. They have the best ice cream in the area and some pretty good cuisine. The décor is pleasant to the eye. It fits the small community/woodsy type of atmosphere. Theres a small playground and a basketball court next to where the food is served. A small gift shop and a walking trail are right around the corner. If youre in Gretna, the Jigger Shop is a must for the evening.

Great old place, dates back to steam engine days, nestled in the woods of the old resort town of Mount Gretna. Old tyme sundaes, malts, milkshakes and lighter fare such as sandwiches fries, salads, frosted mug rootbeer. Operating around Memorial day to Labor day. Kitchen open 11am to 9pm Ice cream parlor open 11am to 10pm Great place to go after hiking to rocks or doing the RailsToTrails.

I love the Jigger Shop. Nice atmosphere. My only wish would be just a bit more variety with hot food options, and more realistic pricing. $2.30 for a tiny bowl of cole slaw seems a bit much. I wish there were more options to eat with your sandwich than fries, cole slaw, or mac and cheese. I realize people pay for the experience, so it is a nice place for a bite to eat.

Typical hot food, nothing too special. The ice cream, however, is fantastic. The service can be hit or miss, but in fairness to the staff, the crowds can sometimes be overwhelming on summer weekends. We find the best time to go is weekday afternoons. The biggest part of the allure of The Jigger Shop is the open air atmosphere that is present, even when under the roof.

This is one of my familys favorite places to go...eating ice cream in the middle of the forest takes you back to the summer camp days. After eating you can walk around and see the beautiful houses and dream which one your family will own one day. Its quaint, relaxing, and a way to get the family spending quality time together. One of my favorite places on earth!

Lovely place to stop by after being out in the woods. Plenty of seating outside and the area is well covered so it does not get too hot. The food is average, but its the ice cream is where this place truly shines. All the offerings look fantastic. Had a malted shake that was rich and creamy. Excellent summer treat. Dont forget to have a birch/root beer!

GREAT ICE CREAM!!! But, the hours are wrong on here. It says open every day from 12-10pm but, when we went at 2pm it was closed! The hours ar actually 5pm-9pm on weekdays and 12-10 on weekends. Very disappointing. I was very excited to bring a friend from out of town there after a hike. Thats why 3 stars. Otherwise the ice cream is AWESOME 5 STARS!!!

Its a cute little ice cream shop, in a beautiful town, but unless you know its there youll drive right past it. Parking is bad. No air conditioning inside. Sticky tables. Not a very clean dining room. The menu items are also very sweet, like ridiculously sweet. Not very flavorful, just sugar, sugar, sugar. Requires a lot of water to get anything down.

My wife likes to go to this place and its not bad... its just always a little too chaotic and busy for me... The line is always long if you go on the weekends but it moves pretty fast... Just make sure you have your order ready when its your turn. They have fun ice cream and food options and Mt. Gretna is a great place to walk around afterwards.

This place is the NASA of dining, when we ordered and were paying for our food, it was already done. The burgers are delicious and the deserts are phenomenal. They made me my first baked Alaska that left my mouth agape and to top it all off everywhere you looked was natural beauty and kind staff. It would never be a mistake to come eat here!

My grandparents owned The Jiggershop so that my mother and her five sisters and her brother would have a place to work in the summers. Beginning in the early 20s. I first went there as a teen in 47. I can still make a Jigger, even tho Im a Texan! Their summer cottage was up the hill -The Dew-Drop-Inn. Huge place. We loved it as kids.

Just look at a few of their handmade sundaes and you will see why the Jigger Shop has been a cornerstone of Mt. Gretna for years! This is one of the few places where it is impressive to say that the desserts taste better than they look...because they look amazing and taste even better.

The B E S T little place around. The Jigger is one of a kind and although owners may change and sizes may change, the Jigger is as wonderful in 2016 /17 as it was when I was a child in 1960s! Still do not know what those yummy "Jigger nuts" are, still a secret!

This place is about atmosphere and the ice cream. The other food isnt bad just nothing exceptional. Expect to wait. Its almost always busy. A little pricey but very unique. If your looking for a different food experience with your family, this is the place.

Excellent place to stop for a quick bite to eat and some amazing and unique ice cream sundaes. Please note however that the Jigger Shop is only open certain times of year, and on a nice summer day be prepared to stand in a very long line!!!
