I bought take out from this place on February 5th and brought it back shortly after I discovered there were not one, but several pieces of hair in the breading of my sweet and sour chicken. Although i was honestly disgusted and hadnt eaten any of my meal, i didnt want to cause a scene or embarrass anyone but did want to call attention to the situation. I brought the dish back to the restaurant, and inform the person at the front desk what had happened. The person alerted the owner who came to speak with me, he first denied there was any hair there and quite rudly in an angry tone asked me to come over to show him where exactly these hairs were. After showing him the concrete evidence of the hairs, he offered no apologies or explanation only asked me so what do you want your money back or do you want me to cook another one for you? Obviously he totally missed the point that this was not hygienic and disgusting. Of course I dont want another dish, and of course you are obligated to give me my money back, the point of it was you should be apologetic, say sorry for such unfortunate occurrence, and promise that you will fix the problem whatever it is so that doesnt happen to another patron. Taipei Tokyo you failed, you failed miserably.

So, this is my boldest review maybe ever. Ive been going to Taipei since probably 2000. I spent countless Christmass here (Im not Jewish...I just dont do christmas with family). I will say 100%...this is the BEST chinese place in all of freakin PA! Ive been to a lot also...the best downtown, Mt Lebanon, Squirrel hill...you name it. This place just does it right for the money. Heres my favs...let me start with the egg rolls...they are literally the best Ive ever had. Not greasy, packed perfectly...SO good. Tokyo Steak...filet, with mushrooms in a brown sauce...dayyyum its good. Great sushi...great consistent ownership since Ive gone there. I love this place. I love it....I love it....and even though I live all the way across the country now (thank god), I will still return to pittsburgh and head STRAIGHT here because I freakin love it.

Ive had many visits to this restaurant over the years. The food has always been spot on. Their sushi is outstanding, great flavors and far more creative than most restaurants in the area. The cost is a little higher than most of its type, but the quality matches the price and then some. Aside from those basics, theres something far more important to me that shows integrity of the staff at this restaurant. My children have very specific issues with foods, and many restaurants have lied to us about what ingredients they use in their food to try to make a sale or keep a customer. Yet knowing that I wont be dining there if they were honest, the manager on staff told me what I needed to know for the sake of my childrens health. Their food is good quality, simply not something my kids can have on their medication. Awesome place.

Ive always had good service and food here. Lots of the guys from where I work go there frequently. Ive never had any of them say anything other then how much they enjoyed it. The staff is friendly, the food comes quickly, and it tastes good. I dont know what more you can expect. Sure it might seem a little expensive at times but it brings to mind the old saying: you get what you pay for. The Tokyo steak is my favorite, followed by Happy Family and of course General Tsos chicken. I would definitely recommend those items. I dont usually review places but after I was there the other day and I heard some one trying to get out of paying their bill (after eating most of it of course) I thought I should share my view on a long running favorite spot to eat. Its pretty sad when people threaten to go on google in order to save a couple bucks.

I really enjoy eating sushi, my husband only likes Chinese so this place is perfect for us. From the moment you walk in the door, the service is wonderful. It feels as though they know you when you step inside, and service is always fast though the place is always busy on the weekends. The sushi is top rate, so fresh and wonderful and presented perfectly and miso soup is so good. I cant say enough about this place, I just hope they never leave Monroeville! I like too that the crowd is diverse, young couples, crowds of people, families, couples, singles, Business, dressed up and very laid back, casual types. Everyone here is focused on the great food!

Ive been to sushi places in the Strip, Shadyside, South Side, and another place in Monroevile. And as crazy as it sounds, I think this just might be the best sushi in the burgh. Unbelievably fresh sashimi, a wide array of classic, tasty rolls, and some of the more complex specialty dishes you see in expensive sushi restaurants -- rolls with sauces and spices and a lot of thought put into them. It may be that I wasnt expecting a lot from this place, so it knocked me flat when I had some of the most tender, fresh sushi Ive had in a long time there. I cant speak to their cooked dishes, but the person I was with seemed to like hers well enough.

Staff is always very accommodating. I never are sushi before I came here, and I am easily grossed out by seafood. They did a great job finding what I did like and recommending rolls I would be comfortable with. The Amazing Chicken is my favorite dish on the menu, but I havent had anything bad. They have salmon fried rice, which Ive never seen anywhere else. This is one of our favorite places to go; we probably go twice a month at least. Their lunch specials are amazing. At dinner, they serve meals family style. They are great at keeping your water glass filled, and the hot tea is bottomless, but their sodas DO NOT HAVE FREE REFILLS!

I am not rating food or service by 3 stars and wish I could rate all aspects separately. My family and I have eaten here 4 times or so in the last 2 years, but last time I noticed that their appetizer and main course itself were considerably reduced in size to the point that I left hungry. Specifically "Calamari dream" and "General Tso Shrimp". I can understand occasional price increase, but I consider cutting corners on amount of food served - as cheating customers. While I was happy with the food taste, my wife and daughter found their meals close to tasteless. Not sure if I will give it another try.

Its really not that great of a place people... Maybe this is the best Chinese this town/ state can offer. And maybe Im being picky. But its "okay to good" at most. Typical "Chinese" service - no patience , rude glares , tosses utensils at you, etc. But I guess to an average joe who hasnt gotten their hands on great par Chinese , I guess I can see why it can be praised to " BEST CHINESE FOOD EVER" class. One more tip - dont come here for the fish(sushi) if you cant tell by the time you walk through the entrance.

The food here was horrible! My sister and I ordered a shrimp fried rice and a chicken fried rice and was very disappointed. We told the server and the Manager that we were not pleased with the fried rice, which was over cooked, and that my shimp was too gummy. I asked if we could changed the meal to two chicken Lo Mein meals instead of shrimp fried rice. The chicken Lo Mein tasted a lot worst! Immeditately we asked for our money back but the manager refused. I would not recommend this place to eat.
