I was initially going to give this restaurant 1-star but two managers, true professionals in the field of restaurant management and the food business, by their actions and follow-through, prevented me from doing just that. Their names are Jake and Alex, Restaurant Managers at Torre and they deserve a commendation. The Habanero Salsa was delightful and the chips were warm and well salted. My fresh squeezed orange juice was authentic but had a slightly alcoholic taste. I did not finish the drink as I do not drink alcohol. The Fuego Guacamole is too hot for enjoyment and I would recommend toning down the spice to help make it palatable to a greater market. Even making gradients of "hotness" for the Fuego Guacamole would help. The Quesadilla de tinga pollo was disappointing. I didnt sense any cheese, it was overstuffed with sparsely flavored chicken, and the sour cream on top tasted as though it were diluted in water and was added for show. The Coconut Ice cream was sad. I was craving Coconut ice cream all day and had the opportunity to get it here and it was lacking. The ice cream tasted as though it were made from coconut oil or a derivative of coconut. I could tell because there was no nutty after taste which usually accompanies true coconut-based products. I thought it was priced unreasonably at 6.00 for one scoop. Andy the Bartender. Andy was snippy, did not smile or show courteous poise as he served anyone in my group. He flooded our half of the bar with micro-aggressions that we did our best to ignore. The breaking point came when I signaled to him that I wanted something and he said wait a minute. After 15 minutes waiting, and after he finished serving everyone else at the bar, he came back and said "You wanted something?" I said, "I just wanted a napkin." With a scowl and attitude, he spat out, " Thats it?!" And I confirmed my request. After he came by and threw my napkin on the table, I decided Id had enough. I got up peacefully and found another server and asked for the managers. Enter Jake and Alex. I was directed to the pair and I introduced myself and revealed that I was a Certified Local Guide for Google, but I did not mention that I am also a Viral Youtube Partner. I relayed my experiences with Andy in detail. They first apologized profusely with sincerity and I could see from their body language and response that they wanted to resolve the problem immediately. They granted my friends and I a free round of drinks and desserts as well. I was quite surprised since I wasnt expecting anything like that, but I was grateful for the kind gesture. At the end of our repast, Andy split our bills by giving me mine with all the charges intact and giving my two buddies their combined bill with the free desserts. I would like to note that he did not ask any of us how the bills should be split but made an assumption and gave my buddies the discount. I took the bills to the manager, Jake, and he addressed the issue with Andy. Andy brought us a new combined bill with the desserts and drinks "comped". He apologized and said he didnt know the bills were together. He, Andy, then stood firm without moving away and asked us what was wrong that we should have anything comped from our bill. His question and stance were defensive, antagonistic, some might say even confrontational. So I politely told him that I thought his service was unpleasant and that his attitude and demeanor towards us was not acceptable. I began to explain that I worked in customer service for over a decade and that courteous poise was important, he interrupted me and told me he had many years of customer service experience and he knew what it required. I told him that I would not argue with him and that I was there to spend time with friends. He asked my name and shook my hand, which I thought strange but it ended as such. Food-wise, Torre is Americanized Mexican food. Price-wise, most things are overpriced. Bartender-wise, specifically Andy, I wouldnt lay a foot back in that place for all the gold in Gringotts.

Went prime time on a Friday evening no reservation, hostess stated it could be up to 45 minute wait for our party of six. Gave her my number and she paged me in 15 minutes, nice surprise. Waitress Selena was awesome with recommendations and attentiveness. We could not have asked for a better server. While we were enjoying our apps and drinks, Manager Jake came to our table to check on us and chat a little, ask some question. Then he dropped on us one of the best gifts we had ever gotten. A little package with a book about Lehigh Valley, postcards, a little note thanking us for patronizing the restaurant and a $50 gift card for Torre. WHAT! I asked what I had to do for it, fill out a survey, attend a guacamole making class, dance on the table... Oh maybe I would have to use it on my next visit "not tonight, right". Nope he said use it tonight or whenever it was ours to do as we pleased. AWESOME! Food was great, everyone was very satisfied, we will be returning soon. Great night! 5 Stars not enough.

The décor is terrific and service was very good. The food was about average though, certainly not authentic Mexican and not what youd find in states bordering Mexico. The enchilada I had was so mushy and piled on with melted cheese and sauce, I couldnt see where the actual enchilada was and the corn shell had no consistency to it at all. The corn enchilada shell had completely mushified and become one with the sauce. Flavor was ok, but nothing special. The other big downer was they nickeled and dimed you on everything. The chips and salsa normally given out at the start of any Mexican meal had to be ordered as appetizers and although the salsa was very good, they only provided enough for a fraction of the chips and wanted to charge for any extra salsa. There are a few good Mexican restaurants around, not many, but this is not one of them. Save your money and find a decent Mexican restaurant with more authentic taste and without having to pay extra for a few tablespoons of salsa.

I gave this a three because my enchiladas verdes were good. However, the brunch burrito was very bland, and the kids tacos with beef brisket were seasoned more like sweet bbq than a Mexican dish. This place is trying to be a more upscale Mexican eatery, and they succeed in the decor. But the food is overpriced for the quantity and quality. Also, no matter how upscale the Mexican restaurant, Ive never had to pay for such a tiny amount of salsa -- chips and salsa are not complimentary. Maybe this gets better reviews because for PA, its good? Im not sure. Are people rating it higher because it is pretentious? Ive been to significantly better Mexican restaurants. Service was also slow. It took quite a while to place our order and it wasnt that busy while we were there. Overall, it was okay but isnt a place well be likely to try again.

The good: The food was excellent. Great flavor and presentation. The Pueblo Burrito had just the right amount of spice and wasnt greasy like you would expect from the Chorizo. The Roja salsa was good bit my wife and I prefer a little more heat so we would try something a little spicier next time. The Veracruz tacos were great. Big shrimp, large pieces of avocado and mango and corn salsa. It was hard to eat the tacos because everything fell out when you folded the small 3 inch shells. The Souther Tier 2XIPA was great. The bad: I thought it was pricey for the portions but it is in the middle of a shopping center so Im sure the prices reflect the rent price and other overhead. I definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to eat while shopping at the Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley.
