Unfortunately St.Helens doesnt have many restaurants to choose from but I strongly suggest people make the small drive to a surrounding town to eat. DO NOT EAT HERE! You will get ripped off!! I have to get my orders to-go because they arent wheelchair accessible. Every time I call in my order I always double check the price due. When getting there the price is always more than what they tell you on the phone and more than their online menu says. They also charge you extra for items that the menu says comes with your meal. The menu clearly says all sandwiches comes with your choice of fries, soup, or salad but I was charged extra for salad? When I called them and asked to speak with the owner I was told she was right there, then someone else came to the phone and said she just "stepped out." When talking with the person on the phone she said that the online menu hasnt been updated in 8 years and would NOT honor those prices. Can you say false advertising?? The fact they quote you one price that is same as menu, but then youre charged 2.00 to 3.00 more once you arrive to pick up makes me question whats really going on. The cooks do a great job but the wait staff is hit or miss. Not very friendly or helpful at all. Every time we have eaten there they have an attitude that you are putting them out when you ask if something can be extra crispy or not as toasted. My family and I will never eat here again. I am tired of being ripped off and the staff being rude when you question them about the price difference from what they told you or from what their menu clearly states. The fact the owner "Roni" is never available even though they say she is there, when you call to complain tells me they really dont care about the customers. I am convinced this place is still in business ONLY because St.Helens doesnt have other options except one. Which is a total greasy spoon. Do yourself a favor folks - make the drive to Scappose or Rainier. You wont regret it!!!!

Worst food ever ! Waited an hour to be seated on the patio and to get our food. Then when the food came out by a busboy, it sat over on this side table for about 10 minutes before our waitress brought it to us. So heres what we ordered: 2 rootbeers which were good, but how can you really mess up a fountain drink, onion rings appetizer, coconut shrimp basket with side salad, klondike burger w/ fries. Let me start with the onion rings: good rings with a nice batter & ranch on the side, but if I didnt get enough ranch on the ring I could clearly taste they had been fried in the same oil as the fish. Next would be my over cooked burger (dry & charred) with a wad of bacon, ham and mayo in the middle. The fries were a huge disaster, with a slow burn on the outside due to being left under the heat lamp too long while on the plate....soft and burnt taste -YUCK ! Only managed to eat 4 onions rings, then just under half of my charcoal burger and a bite of a french fry. So we ate around 5:30pm. We were supposed to go catch a movie afterwards, but had to end the night early because my stomach was about to purge the demons ! Just like clockwork, the food poisoning sets in.....vomiting commenced apx 2 hours after eating this mess. I will never eat there again! However, I have to say the best thing going for this place is the sweetest and most hard working waitress. By now I have forgotten her name, but I did give her a $10 tip after she discounted our food. She was a dressed as a lady bug for the Halloween theme She is a terrific waitress that provides excellent service, works hard under pressure and does it all with a nice smile and sweet disposition !

Very sad. Not one redeeming word regarding their breakfast. From the server that couldnt care less about us, to the coffee that was so weak it lacked color, to the hollandaise that would have tasted better from a package. This was a favorite restaurant of ours for the last few years but have recently experienced on our visits that the food has changed dramatically, lacking in flavor, quality, and overall passion. Ive eaten in restaurants all over the continent - sometimes where English was a second language - and have never been told that it is impossible to poach an egg medium. A simple no would have sufficed, but to be talked down to about how eggs are cooked was appalling. The true comedy of the situation was that after I was told how eggs couldnt be cooked...I was brought an egg that was poached medium. Yet, my husbands request of an egg over medium was massacred by breaking the yolk and cooking the life out of it. Flat and lifeless. As a proud Celt, Ive always held the belief that there is no way to cook a bad potato. Today I was proven wrong. How the chef was able to take fabulous red potatoes and deliver zero flavor will forever be a mystery in my mind. Had the service been gracious and welcoming I might have walked away with the impression that maybe the regular chef had taken ill and this was a stand-in trying to make it through a menu he wasnt familiar with. Since this was not the case, I can only assume that the issues stem from much deeper. We will not be returning.

If you are planning on making it to a movie after eating at the KLONDIKE make sure you give yourself at least 3 hours for dinner prior to the movie starting. If it looks like they are busy do not take this as a sign that you will get your drinks, or appetizers, in a timely manner. Pay attention to your bill, it is not as though they are trying to steal from you, it is that most of the waitresses are not well trained. Drinks are good but ask for water when you sit down and remind them until you get it. Drinks will come but they take time. Order your food and watch the time, if your movie starts within one hour before you order ask for it to go. So the drinks are good, the food is average, the ambiance is fine (as long as the waitresses are not getting chewed out or instructed on their jobs) and if you have several hours of conversation with your dinner guest then you should have a fine time. We keep going back so it must be okay.

I have gone to the Klondike twice before today. I didnt like their food the first 2 times and I still dot like their food. I be leave that they should find a different cook! Dont get the French dip or their fries, it was greasy and gross oh and cold. The only thing good about their restaurant is the bar tender "Tracy" . She was the only reason why I didnt get up and walk out! Please spend your money on a better restaurant! They say 3 times a charm, well that was my 3rd time and I will never go back and Ill make sure everyone of my customers know about the food there! Bad Horrible food! I ordered a prime rib and they sent me a stake that was still bleeding when I asked for med well! I asked for prime rib abd got a stake and let that go but when it wasnt cooked like I asked I sent it back. It was burnt when they brought it back to me! Horrible food! Like I said the only good was the bartender "Tracy" and her Customer Service!
