They were ok and we had been going there for about a year, every few weeks. Then the other day, the tofu tasted like bleach! OK, its because they clean their grill with bleach and didnt do a good job rinsing it off but even *that* wasnt what tweaked me! I told them the problem without making a fuss and they didnt even bother to replace it, comp it, or anything! Goodbye Dozika. Never again. Turns out Hunan Spring, the nondescript Chinese place a few blocks south on Chicago, in the Walgreen strip mall, does WAY better chicken that actually looks good after the leftovers have been in the fridge too!

Dozika is really a hidden gem for sushi in Evanston. I didnt expect much of their maki my first time there, but I really enjoyed their tekka (tuna), salmon, and tako salad (octopus). Unlike some other sushi places here, the rolls do not come apart and they are pretty generous with the fish. Their ramen was great too. Flavorful broth and great chasu pork. I would not, however, recommend the takoyaki. Half of them were freezing cold in the middle and the other half were molten lava hot. With that said, Dozika is one of my new faves and I plan on going back many times.

Sushi is 2/5. The all-you-can-eat sushi was very bland with little to no flavor. Rolls were full of filler. The Thai ice tea was decent. Restaurant was dead and staff were just sitting in chairs in the back. Service was so-so, not that one would have high expectations for an all-you-can-eat. Didnt try any of the cooked food, but I did smell the curry dish and it smelled pretty good. If you come here I would highly recommend not eating the sushi but perhaps the cooked food is good. Might give this place another shot and try something cooked.

I have a feeling that this place is extremely underrated. My meal was amazing. I got the "crispy and soft noodle" bowl with vegetables and it really hit the spot. Everything my friends got looked yummy as well. The menu is extensive so there are options for everyone. They have pictures for every option that do not do the food justice, so do not be deterred, your food will be beautiful when it comes out! I will be back to try out a bento box for lunch.

My first time visiting here was very pleasant. The server was friendly and attentive. After I asked her for recommendations as a first timer, she had a few suggestions. If you are feeling indecisive, try their special for $7.50 that comes with entree, appetizer, salad, etc. Totally will visit again.

This place has consistently disappointed us over the years. When it first opened, we loved it. The quality has declined over time, though. Vegetables that were not fresh, dishes sloppily prepared, etc. We havent been by in a couple of years. Heres hoping the cuisine picks up again.

Great place for various Asian dishes in a nice location with bar. I contemplated the all-you-can-eat sushi buffet, but instead opted for the Red Curry with Shrimp. The fried bananas with green tea ice cream was the perfect end to the meal. Fantastic! Would definitely return.

First time I went here was a couple years ago, and it was the middle of the day. Ordered our food and looked at the wall next to me, there was a cockroach crawling up the wall. Called the health department and its cleared up now but still was a gross experience.

Many sushi places are overrated and overpriced, but Dozika has earned its place as my favorite sushi escape! Dozika is the best sushi place Ive ever had the pleasure of discovering.

Dozika Noodles (prepared spicy) were recommended by the server. Medium-sized portion and nothing special taste-wise. But a decent meal nonetheless. Wont come again.
