I had a poor experience over a year ago at this restaurant. I vowed never to go back. I was asked to go to lunch with a group of 10 so I decided to give Seasons & Regions another try. As we were seated, the server informed us, in a terribly condescending way, that there will be an 18% gratuity added as a new policy. As a former food server for 15 years, I understand, but when it’s presented the way it was presented, I felt trapped. I mentioned to a fellow diner at our table that I didn’t like being forced to give a tip because of a policy, the server abruptly said " And I like to pay my power bill" I was appalled. At that point, I decided I wasn’t going to eat there. Because I was invited, I ordered Iced Tea. The server continued to be condescending to our entire group by my observation as a former food server. Such things like refills and giving the correct meal to the correct customer seemed to be a challenge for this server. Everyone ate their meals and we visited. Everyone finished their meals and as we waited for our bills to be delivered, I realized I had been there for over an hour and needed to get going. Since our bills weren’t delivered, I excused myself from the group, asked a staff person standing at what looked like a cash register by the exit how much ice tea was, he said 2.50. I gave him that amount and left. As I was leaving a man came out and said" excuse me" and showed me a bill, again which I never received at the table, I said I gave the money to that guy at the door, he said "what guy" I said "the employee at the door, and I gave him the 2.50" the man said, "there’s an 18% gratuity owed" I gave him 50 more cents and left. I will NEVER go back to this place and I WILL tell EVERYONE I know about my experience. If a place of business, especially a restaurant, allows their staff to treat paying customers in a condescending way, then EXPECTS a "tip" (defined as To Insure Prompt service) it won’t be long before karma gets the best of them. For the record, I always tip more than 18% to any service person including my Barber because I know the service industry doesnt pay a whole lot, I spent 20 years in it. BUT, I will be damned if I’m gonna sit quietly by after this experience as that would be saying how I was treated is okay, because it was not!

Went there during happy hour, was not given menu or prices for it. Food is pretty bla. I got the salmon and halibut linguine and asked for Cajun seasoning on it but chef refused to accommodate and waitress assured me that its really good and what else was I gonna do but accept. The dish was the blandest seafood pasta Ive ever had. I guess theres no spice rack because it was literally the contents of its making. Mush piled on other "steamed" like texture mush. Then when I told the waitress (who was not attentive as we all had empty glasses of water for a good 10 mins before she refilled), all she did was being out the Cajun seasoning I originally asked for instead of letting me get a dish I had tried that the people I was dining with got which I thought tasted more flavorful. This all took so long that by the time I mixed in my own Cajun seasoning, the pasta was cold and even more disgusting. Would never recommend this place. Sucks because I was talking out of towners there and was hoping for a nice dinner. Still have a gross taste in my mouth from my dish. Less ego, more flavor would be really good for this place. Although, the salmon tator tots appetizer was really nice surprise and had flavor (cuz of the dill sauce)

We showed up on a Saturday night (party of 2) without reservations during peak dining time and were able to get seated fairly quickly,a plus. Our waitress, Inge, is wonderful. Shes knowledgeable about the menu, there was one question she needed to double check on and she returned promptly with an answer, another plus. We loved her personality and excellent service, thank you Inge! I enjoyed the oyster shooters, they we a little bit spicy, which I like. Great appetizer. My husband tried the tiger prawns and thoroughly enjoyed them. I had the Applewood Salmon which was good but I think I would have liked it better as a cold appetizer. The vegetable hash that came with it was fantastic. I love that this restaurant has fresh, local ingredients. My hubby had the fried oysters which turned out to be very good. I have a proclivity for pan fried oysters but he shared one of his with me and I was pleasantly surprised, Thank you Seasons and Regions for a very pleasant dining experience.

The first thing that happens when you make a reservation at this restaurant is that they sell your name to Yelp, who then confirms your reservation via a text message. When you show up, they will seat you promptly, and then you wait for 25 minutes while your server decides if you are worth serving. 15 minutes after that, you appetizer will show up, but no cocktails for another 10 minutes (I assume so that it makes you savor the experience more). When your cocktails do come, the server will push the table into ordering when they have not even had a look at the menu. Then before the entree arrives, your server hands you over to another server who waits to deliver your food, so that the plates are mexican-restaurant/been in the oven hot, with a nice crust on top of what was creamy polenta. The service is straight out of Portlandia, the prices reasonable (thus the second star). That is all I can say about that.

I love Seasons & Regions! Im a huge seafood fan and have tried some other top dollar seafood restaurants in Portland, but this place is fantastic! Everything here is delicious, I havent had a meal I didnt enjoy. The fried oysters are perfect. They use a light breading and flash fry them so theyre still soft and melt in your mouth like butter. The smoked salmon dip is amazing, salmon wontons are also fantastic with a great sauce! Halibut is amazing, smoked salmon tacos are amazing.. They have the perfect ratio of fish to cabbage slaw/mango salsa. Cocktails are also pretty darn good.. The hibiscus habenero margarita is to die for! Service is also good, theyre friendly and attentive. Almost too attentive.. Sometimes I do feel pushed to order food quickly. Other than that, I love the food, cocktails and overall vibe. Great place!

This is the fourth time Ive taken my family here and every time its been a great experience. I love the local vibe and the great menu items and local ingredients. I always meet cool people here also. I took my four kids here for a late meal on a Friday night and was seated within 5 minutes in the quaint open air covered area. The Cheap Eats menu is really top notch and delicious. Salmon Fish and Chips for $4.95? Yeah, and yummy. Many other dishes and salads for 2.95. Pulled pork sandwich plate for less than 9 bucks! The Italian sodas where the best, and the dessert menu is awesome and everything we ordered was A+. Highly recommended for those that dont want a chain restaurant experience waiting for 20+ minutes for very average homogenized food.
