My husband and I ate at the place last time we were in town (we are from Atlanta, GA). It was excellent. Tonight we decided to go there again. But our experience was a bit different. I ordered the chefs special...ground lamb kabobs with taziki sauce with rice, pickled radish, and green beans in tomato and garlic sauce. The menu said the kebabs would be cooked to rare. I asked our wait staff if my order could be cooked to at least medium. Apparently they are rigid in their menus...no exceptions. I agreed to order the rare ground lamb kebabs. I did not expect that most of the kebab would be raw...not even warm. The kebabs also tasted like meatloaf...not at all like the lamb I like...just meatloaf. The taziki sauce was mundane. I brought one of the kebabs back and have finished cooking it. Growing up my mother cooked lamb a lot. She would make a mint sauce that was wonderful...fresh mint and sugar minced together then distilled vinegar added to make the best ever mint sauce for lamb. I suggest this restaurant try this rather than the taziki sauce.

My parapalegic client made an order via Postmates. After waiting an hour for it to arrive, the order was cancelled by the restaurant. Tried to call the restaurant, went to a VM box that was not set up. Drove down to make a to go order. Was told there are no to go orders on weekends. Explained the nature of my clients condition. Explained the issues of ADA access. Still no dice. Asked for a manager. No dice. Put my name on the list and told them they had two choices: (1) let me make the to go order and not occupy a table on a Friday night, or (2) occupy a table I didnt need, wait for food, ask for to go boxes, waste a table and produce more dishes that didnt need to be used. Advice: (a) set up a VM box that explains things like, "We dont answer the phones when were busy. We dont do to go orders on busy nights," so that people dont drive down only to be disappointed, (b) be more mindful of your disabled clients who cannot wait in line in the rain to eat in on busy nights and maybe flex "house rules" in these circumstances. Thanks.

This is a great place with great staff and excellent food. We had another great experience last night celebrating my birthday. I have many favorites on the menu depending on the time of year. They always have 4-5 Specials going on that lure me in and are always top notch! Porter house pork chop (a special) is incredible if you are looking to sway from the amazing seafood dishes. Oyster shooters are 100% on point. Dessert is home made and salads are garden fresh with house made dressings. I have never done their carry out orders, I have heard from friends they are excellent but i prefer the dine-in experience with the wonderful friendly staff. For all theses reasons and more, I am & will always be a regular.

Had dinner here with my wife and in-laws, and it was a really awesome dinner from start to finish, with friendly service the entire time. Started with a bowl of fantastic clam chowder, then had sturgeon with a gorgonzola/garlic sauce and yams (soooooo good - I was sad when it was done), and we shared an order of cobler and an order of bread pudding (usually not a fan, but this stuff was great) for desert. I almost dont want to let the cat out of the bag on this place for fear it get too busy, but you got to support local, family owned restaurants that serve food this good.

Nice, friendly place....HOWEVER.... Asked for lemon with water, never got it.. Clam chowder was too hot, and lacking clams... Could have eaten cole slaw with a straw, way too liquidy.. What was once a beautiful green aspargrass was burnt to black and way over seasoned.. Cod was good, as was the shrimp and oysters, and garlic mashed potatoes. Could not believe though, that a seafood place, charging $18/ plate, served scallops which were RAW in the middle!!! This was my third time there, and my last. Food is consistently UNDERWHELMING!!!!

One of a kind. Great local restaurant but they can rest on laurels. Many fans will return no matter the price. Second generation working owner. Nice gal. I prefer my chowder less cream heavy and have found a GF fish house in town. Hubby says food too salty and sizes are small for the price. Its often busy and the coziness is not always atmosphere Im seeking for my limited entertainment dollar. Oddly enough, I did enjoy ordering their burger and fries. We just dont eat out that often. Locals swear by the place.

With all the appeal of a fishermens wharf, I drove past this place many times and never felt the desire to go in. Today, I decided to give it a try. Despite the wharf appeal, I was surprised by the simplistic and delicious menu, the considerate and attentive staff, and the typical price tag associated with good food. I ordered several menu items and requested a substitute as well as an oyster shooter with bloody mary drink combo. I will go back and you should give it a go!

I love fish and chips and I love my wife more for finding this place. look past the worn down building and partake in fishy goodness. the fish and chips (Alaskan cod) had a light cornmeal coating, not over powering the light fish. Not the method I am used to, but so nice. the chips were equally unusual and just as welcome...waffle fries! the clam chowder is really good. try the clam and shrimp chowder. it is regular clam chowder with shrimp! genius

***BEST SEAFOOD EVER!!!*** It will be crowded, it will be noisy. IT IS WORTH IT! I have noise anxiety / sensory overload and Im saying that, so believe me when I say it. My husband didnt like fish until we went there - its all locally caught, its all fresh, its all delicious! Wheelchair rating - 4 stars (doable, but tight - Ive never bumped into anything yet!) Gluten-free rating - 5 stars! I recommend the clam chowder.

The Fishwife is a small restaurant with a very high quality menu. Being from out of town, I wanted to try local seafood. I couldnt be happier with my experience! All of what I had was definitely 10/10. Fresh salad, excellently prepared mashed potatoes, and wonderful salmon. Dont let the rather small, low key setting turn you off. The only part of the place that reflects the setting are the prices. Very good value!

So Good! Worth every penny. A meal this good in New England would have had lobster and a dress code. Definitely going back. Already planning my next meal. Its heavy, so the small/shared portions worked perfectly for two. We shared: calimari, cup ochowder, blackened cod (basket) fries & slaw. I wanted the salad because it had beets, but we were full enough at the end. (Yea, I eat salad last, what.)

There is fish and there is fish. I was born at a side with fish I sailed the world catching them I eat veriaty of. This family restaurant fish brought back all the fantastic memories. Exquisite fully flavored and modestly served fish is the best i have had for really long time. Thank you very much. Its a must for all. If not now make sure it gets on your bucket list. You will enjoy it as nothing before.
