Went there this weekend and got a stomach virus/bacteria (gastroenteritis) for the second time! The first time I had the Yaki Udon, which they dont serve anymore, and the chicken tasted a bit weird but I thought nothing of it. A few hours later I couldnt stop going to the bathroom. I spent the entire night and the following day in there. It was horrible! This weekend I had a California roll, chicken lettuce wraps and the tropical sangria. This time the stomach virus wasnt as bad, ran to the bathroom once and then spent the entire night and the following day with chills, body aches, weakness and fatigue. Had to go to an urgent care and they told me that I had a virus in my gut from whatever I ate. Im not sure what theyre doing wrong. Either the chicken they buy comes with horrible bacteria or they dont clean their kitchen area or their hands very well. The Department of Health really needs to check this place! The thought is pretty disgusting. The first time it was their fault, but the second time was mine because I shouldve never gone back to eat there. Hopefully this doesnt happen to anyone else but I highly doubt that it hasnt already. This place grosses me out and I will never go back! Very bad experience.

My husband brought me here tonight for my B-Day. Up until now, this place WAS my favorite Hibachi spot in town. My visits quickly went south. I was asked to slide one seat down in order for the arriving family to sit. I complied and sat one over. Grabbed the bottom of my new chair in order to make a bit more room, not knowing the bottom of chair had nails pointing outward, cut both my ring finger and middle finger, blood spilled on my plate. I then went to the front counter to ask for a first aid kit. Was provided with a couple of band aids and went back to my table. My husband had swapped out my chair for another, instead of that chair with the nails that picked me being put in the back room, they circulated it for someone else to use. Careless and irresponsible of them to do that. Not once did anyone from the restaurant management staff come over to apologize or ask how I was doing. My husband was so upset, he had a few choice words for manager, who by the way couldnt have cared less. Never coming back, EVER!

Por varios años he frecuentado este lugar nos encantaba la comida y sobre todo el pad thai noodles hasta que este dia me salio una mosca en la comida ...que asco ...y menos mal que la vi ha tiempo si no...no quiero ni imaginarlo... Y lo peor que llame para reportar el incidente y ni un manager pudo atender mi llamada ...no le dieron la importancia que merecia ..me querian mandar otro plato de comida quien querria comer lo mismo despues de ver esa mosca en en plato...ustedes si??? 06/23/17

Umami is the most disgusting and expensive place to have lunch. I couldnt believe that the kids meals were so expensive 13-17 dollars for their plates!! We sat down and ordered our lunch and drinks and it took them over 20 mins just for our drinks and mind you that it was empty. We got our lunch and it was completely cold and nasty. We didnt even get our sushi that we ordered first and got it after the cold food came to our table. I asked for the owner and didnt have the decency to show their face so they made an employee come and say that they would give us a discount. The bill was over 73 dollars and they had the nerve to add gratuity to the bill!!! 73 dollars for lunch!!! Not even a "sorry" we got. If you want to get ripped off and eat disgusting cold food go right ahead and waste your time. Horrible staff and overall a huge stomachache. I hope they close down.

La comida tiene buen sabor pero es muy escasa , la atención por parte de los camareros es pésima te tratan de forzar a ordenar comida que no quieres , cuando pides algo se demoran en traerlo y lo traen después de recordacelo dos y hasta tres veces. Pedí agua y ya estoy por irme del restaurant y aún nada. La verdad es que no lo recomiendo para nada !!!

This restaurant waiting time is HORRIBLE! The hostess in the front are unprofessional ... We came here for my sister birthday dinner & they told us it was a 40 min wait & we ended up waiting over an hour & a half! When we would ask the hostess why it taking so long they would just respond "the people in tour table are taking long to get up". Like seriously the whole restaurant got seated down & other people left because of thier time waiting because they would say one thing & the tell you it another hour. Need I organize more with the seating and waiting time! And tell your hostess to give the appropriate wait time, instead of getting frustrated with everyone asking her why shes giving false wait times.

Sushi was spot on. Best Miso soup Ive had in a long time, thick with tofu. The ginger dressing was thick on the salad, not runny like most Japanese restaurants. Only critique is that the service could have been better. The server was timely in delivery but did not check up on us once. Someone else had to get our drink refills. The building looks tore up on the outside but that may have been from Irma. The interior architecture is beautiful and stately, making for a very clean and sharp look.

Overall the food was bad. It was gimicky. Basically just fancy take-out. It is fine for people that have never had Japanese food before, but the quality of the food was sub-par. The sushi was not good at all. We had the volcano chicken and it was just an overly sweet honey chicken. The calamari was probably from a box. The wonton soup was good. My cousin ordered the lobster roll and that looked good, but for $22 for a lobster roll it better be slap me silly good. I will probably not go back

I had lunch here with friends while visiting recently. From the outside you dont really know what to expect - it looked more like a Road House Grill than an Asian restaurant. Once you get inside though, the decor was what I consider normal for this type of food place. The food was great - very tasty, the service was good and the portions were huge. Overall it was a great value for the price. Ill definitely go there again whenever next I am in the Doral area.

Es un lugar para comer comida japonesa y china, es lo mejor del área, hay mejores lugares en la city, pero esta bien si usted no es muy exigente, hay shichi bueno, comida china buena sin ir más allá

Food was OK. The raw fish was very fresh, but the service was PATHETIC!!! After an extremely long time, I had to get up and go find a manager to get a waitress. Our waiter was a college kid who HAD ZERO PERSONALITY. To add insult to injury a 15% tip was automatically added to the check. Miamians like loud places and spectacles so this place will survive. However, if youre not from Miami and have good taste AVOID THIS PLACE! We wont be back...

GREAT FOOD, wide selection, nice fusion of Asian cuisine, excellent service....serving portions are excellent for the hearty eater...Umani is a lively family restaurant with several dining options indoor and outdoor...and for the sports fanatic there are enough screens so you don’t miss that important game....to all my Caribbean people...you should visit UMANI...its worth the drive
