Ive had terrible luck every time Ive come here. My friends love it, so Ive tagged along multiple times. Literally every time Ive been here, the service has been incredibly unacceptable. From forgetting to bring drinks and food then charging you for things you never received, to a waitress almost having a nervous breakdown because the place got too busy, to not coming to the table for ~15 or so minutes. The place serves cheap sushi (and the gyoza is good for the price), so Im not expecting excellent service to pair with the cheap food, but I have never had service been so poor before. Im going to call it bad luck since this place has a 4.2 star rating with ~70 reviews, but I wont be returning to this place ever. There are so many other cheap sushi places with much better service.

We frequent here for Yakisoba take-out. Pretty decent meal although the Yakisoba can be a bit dry. The portion is on the small side of medium sized, and may not be enough for a large or active person. Spring rolls come in groups of 3 but are only $1 each, if youre sharing then be prepared to tear the odd one in half but otherwise taste good. The side salads taste great and are generally fresh, but again the portion is rather small. Price is maybe a bit high (for Yakisoba), would be justified with a slightly larger portion size. Id like to see a scaled portion:cost option although from what ive read many of the other entrees are good portions for the price. Either the Yakisoba is a bit smaller or im just a giant fat man whos never satiated.

We were really upset when we saw on here that it was closed. We ended up going down there anyway to see for ourselves, and were very pleased to see that they are still in business! The food is delicious, and the happy hour makes the prices very affordable. The staff are friendly, but I wish they would provide a little more speed and attention when it comes to service. Often we have to flag someone down for refills of things, or are left wondering why people who arrive after us get their food, utensils, and even water before we do. If you are not in a hurry, go in and check it out. You wont be dissappointed. However, if you are starving and crave sushi... go elsewhere or youll faint before you get food!

Nothing compares to top quality sushi/sashimi, especially when its super cheap. Salmon Nigiri? $1/piece. Lots of rolls and nigiri on the menu with happy hour pricing (Happy hour never ends, its 24/7). A decent selection of Sakis and a good Plum Wine too. They do takeout and I love getting a ton of sushi to take to events. Everyone Ive brought sushi to thinks Ive spent ~$100, when its really closer to $50. I cannot express loudly enough my love for this place! Personal Favorites: Salmon Nigiri, Sashimi Salad, Miso Soup, and the Marina Roll. Downside: Parking in the area is miserable. It might be worth paying at one of the parking lots nearby.

I ate outside, but it was difficult to get the table cleaned after host sat is. Sake selection was great, the salad were great as well, we had the seared ahi salad and the tako seaweed salad. The sushi on the other hand was the biggest disappointment. The nori was very dry and was not holding form with the sushi, the tako nagori was horrible. The tako in the salad seemed fresher and the squid was horrible and dry like it sat out too long. The rolls were Decent, but Ive had better. Service was friendly, but not quite attentive. I think I would just continue to go to Mio. Much better quality.

05/13/16: 3 out of 5. Went here for lunch with a buddy of mine, which was recommend to him. Ordering was easy, the price is decent since its "All Day Happy Hour" making a selection of rolls and sushi 50% off. Our selection came out in a timely manner with an okay presentation. Consideration it opened at 11:30am CPR business, it could have been better. The taste was good. However, the Salmon. Skin Handroll wasnt up to snuff. It couldve been...shouldve been better. At least I tried and decided for myself. My buddy, on the other hand, said he is likely not to go back.

The quality far surpasses the price. If you go for the half price all day happy hour items youre getting a steal for the quality. SushiLand and similar cheap low quality places cant touch Sansai!!! Always fast, fresh and super friendly! I recommend it over any downtown/nw sushi place! You wont be disappointed. I rarely write a review unless Im incredibly impressed. Ive been going there 5 or 6 times a month since I moved here 9 months ago. The music selection (bad mainstream pop) is about all I could say against the place.

A small and friendly sushi restaurant in the heart of the Alphabet District. The staff is always friendly and smiling. The sushi itself is great, while not the best Ive had, it definitely is one of the better places to eat sushi in the area. They have these really fun boat meals for groups that include tempura, a variety of sushi, and teriyaki chicken. Overall you get good quality sushi for a fair price. The restaurant is almost always busy, but in my mind it tends to stand out from your typical conveyor belt chains.

Good food, no wait for a table, food arrives quickly. Not big on atmosphere or customer service (not bad, just really bland, mediocre, boring) but good sushi and prices. No bells or whistles or anything fancy here. Last time I was there, the table we were seated at was super sticky (icky!) and I wasnt comfortable pointing it out to the waitress so I just sat at a gross table the whole time. Itd also be helpful if the soy sauces were labeled to differentiate between low-sodium and regular.

I have been coming here for years and i can tell you with harsh criticism that this place is a jewel. The service is spot on, when i say spot on i mean they care. The quality of food is good, especially for the price point. It has a fun atmosphere that makes it a great place to unwind and enjoy a delicious meal. Here is a little secret, ask for the Sushi chef Kilo. He is the bomb! There is deifinanty a difference in taste when he makes your food.

If you go here go knowing that the food is CHEAP. Do not expect a 5 star sushi place, this is the kind of place where everything is 50% off...ALL THE TIME! Now, keeping that in mind 4 bucks for roll that doesnt make me sick?? YES! The food is better than the prices would make you think, but I would stay away from anything battered(smelled like bad oil). They are always busy because they serve a purpose, that of quick, cheap(cheapest), sushi.

Went here last night with a group of friends. Food was good, not the best sushi Ive had, but hard to beat the price. We were able to feed 5 people on $60, including sake bombs. I was stuffed by the time I waddled out. I have to agree with the other reviews though, service was slow and they werent even busy. If you need an affordable sushi fix, head here. If you need to eat and run, try elsewhere.
