I ordered two specialty rolls that were over $10 a roll, a tempura shrimp hand roll at $3.50, and the seaweed salad for $4.50. The hand roll was very good, a little over battered but otherwise really good. I wish that was all I ordered. The seaweed salad was really oily / over dressed. It also consisted of nothing but seaweed, overall not good but not totally bad. On the other hand, the specialty rolls were bad. The spicy tuna tasted old (on one of the rolls). The salmon was almost tasteless (on top of both rolls). Both of my rolls were supposed to have shrimp in them and the shrimp was MIA. I asked the server about it, who didnt see any so she asked possibly the manager or the owner. The manager told her /me its there its just very thin so I might not see or taste it... What a waste of money. The server also seemed a little annoyed when I showed up 25ish minutes before they closed for lunch. Probably would of had better luck at one of the track sushi places in the area instead. The only reason this place got two stars is because of the tempura shrimp hand roll, which had actually shrimp that I could see and taste in it.

I was excited to try out this new sushi place because of the food reviews... I ordered the chicken katsu. The chicken taste like something out of a Tyson chicken bag. It wasnt fried enough and extremely thin. Salad is covered in weird orange acidic dressing. Like carbonated orange juice. The only good thing was the rice. Workers were rude and never even smiled. She actually waited on someone who came in after us, then came to us after about 10min. Overall, this is a great place for people who dont know what good Asian food taste like. Never will go back again.

Im not from the area and have been desperately looking for a good true sushi place like the ones back home. This place is the best I could find. The salmon is always fresh bought everyday Im sure and kept at the right temperature. I hate sushi thats been out too long, like the conveyor sushi places. Please stop eating at those places they are gross! But anyways Oishi is amazing I come at least once a week. I know that the snow crab roll, the heartattack, the baked scallop roll, the salmon nigiri, the tuna nigiri and the caterpillar roll are all winners. 5 stars!!!

Weve been coming here for years. Everything we have tried has been great overall. Our favorite is the teriyaki chicken. My husband is not a fan of the salad, but I enjoy the citrus dressing that comes with it. I also enjoy the sushi, in particular, my favorites are the snow crab rolls and the avocado rolls. They usually only have one waitress on staff and I do have a favorite who has been working there for years. However, everyone here is so nice so I have never had an issue with service. I highly recommend this restaurant. I just wish they were open on Sundays!

Ive never been disappointed by a trip to Oishi. Even though it looks unassuming and generic on the inside, it has all the appeal of a family owned and operated hole-in-the-wall restaurant. The prices are reasonable, the portions generous, and the food is quick and hot. The service is fast and friendly, and I feel like I am in welcome in the casual atmosphere. This is a definite place to visit - even if you dont like sushi. There is plenty on the menu to sample from and all of the dishes taste as if they were prepared at home and not in an industrial kitchen.

My wife and I have eaten here several times. The cooked food is excellent American Japanese Food (Teriyaki, etc.). They have a nice selection of Japanese beers and chilled wines in the cooler. The sushi is prepared well by at a one-chef sushi bar. Prices are reasonable. The decor is nice for a strip mall and comfortable. The service is excellent! Ive been served by the same waitress (they many only have one). An online menu would be nice. Service- A Food-A Sushi-B+ Cleanliness A Decor B+

Not impressed at all, apparently the other people who posted reviews havent had good Sushi. I ordered a rainbow roll and it came out with brown avacado and not one piece of Salmon the just filled it with a little crab and a bunch of Mayo. I ordered Hamachi that wasnt trimmed properly and very small portion. I ordered Scallop Nigiri, not sure if there was any Scallop in it, tasted like a spoonful of Mayo with rice. Total let down, I dont mind paying for good Sushi but please make it good!!!

I am new to the sushi realm and do not like the seaweed wrappers. This restaurant introduced me to soybean wrappers which gives the rolls a milder, sweet flavor. Sushi is a favorite of mine now. I actually crave sweet snow crab rolls & spicy tuna rolls. I never thought I would say that, but Oishi has opened a whole new world of sushi for me. Service is great-very friendly and helpful. Great rice bowls and yakisoba noodles. I would highly reccomend this wonderful restaurant to anyone.

They couldnt have been nicer! The special hand roll of the day was fantastic and the salmon and tuna were fresh and delicious. The avocado rolls were the largest chunks of avocado Ive ever had in a roll and were in perfect buttery green condition. Then, with the check came the cutest plating for orange slices that Ive seen. I was staying nearby for a conference and couldnt have been more delighted to stumble across this find!

Good Japanese when youre out and about looking for a quick meal. Ordered soft shell crab, tempura, chicken udon, rainbow roll, and poke bowl. Tempura and soft shell crab is decent but not very crisp. Udon noodles were perfect although broth was a bit salt heavy. Rainbow roll was a bit thick with rice and imitation crab. Poke bowl with greens was really really good. Fresh and light dressing was very flavorful.

2nd time here: I thought it was bad coincidence the first time (a few months ago) that I had an upset stomach. Coincidences dont happen twice, and they certainly dont happen to two people each time. Its a shame really because it tasted pretty good. But maybe the half cooked tempura & having to ask for water 3 times should have clued me in....Never again.

Im a regular to this sushi restaurant for its fresh sushi and great service. I happen to live walking distance from it so its convenient for me to get there. The prices are also very reasonable. I recommend this to anyone looking for good Sushi in Vancouver...you dont have to go across the river to Portland for good Sushi :)

Simple decor very Zen, clean, and welcoming staff. How nice to meet the Japanese Sushi Chef and his wife. The cuts of fish were just right, and fresh. I very much enjoyed the spicy tuna roll, maguro and yellow tail. Great selection of cold sake, too. A lovely place we will definitely be returning to in future.

This is our go-to local sushi place. We love it and do both a lot of take out and sit down. It is nothing fancy but the sushi is good, fresh and reasonably priced. They also have a good menu of other japanese food items so the kids like it as well. Definitely the best consistent sushi in the area
