I took my boyfriend there tonight and he has never had sushi before. I knew he would like and He really did end up liking it. We got the California roll a standard to break him in and then the caterpillar roll with the cooked eel and beautifly sliced avacado, before we went into the raw stuff. Then he had the philly roll which had raw salmon in it and he loved it and last but not least the rainbow roll which he liked the best, odd because it had the biggest raw pieces of fish. For being the end of the night the sushi was fresh tasting and the price of our tab was super fair for the quality of it. 4 big rolls and a bowl of edimami was 28 bux!!!!!!! I will definitely at there again and again! the guy who wrote one star must have never been to a FAMILY owned and operated restaurant it has a more lax environment like your at home and the lady that served us was so sweet and even asked how his first time was. I am from California and have been spoiled by the quality of Sushi there and moved here 2 years ago. I have done a bit of sampling but have not found good sushi in oregon till tonight.

I am an employee (son of owner) at Sushi Town and Teriyaki. I was very sadden when I saw this review and I would like to take this opportunity to respond to some of the criticisms written. We are a family owned and operated business. We work very hard to be here and to provide service to all customers that walk through the door. We are not miserable, and we are sorry that you feel that way. The salad dressing is not Italian dressing. It is a house recipe that we have used in our business for many years and we have also recieved many compliments on it. Perhaps it was not made for your particular pallet and urge that your try our cucumber salad which may be more to your liking. Lastly, we pride ourself in our diverse sushi menu. We do not use vegetables as fillers. We add ingredients to compliment the fish in the rolls. We do not use our fish to compliment the vegetables in the roll. Since we have recently discovered this review, we apologize for the late response. I hope you give us another chance.

Teriyaki Town and Sushi has always been my go to place when visiting Keizer to enjoy sushi and Japanese and Korean cuisine for more than a number of reasons... Over the years, the owners have always impressed me with their compliant quality of sourced fish, tuna and mango, respectively. Not only do they follow a code of conduct but you know your food is always made by ONE or TWO people only! Don, the sole owner of this mom and pop business, is a qualified and decorated Sushi Chef and excellent curator of Japanese, Korean and Chinese cuisine. His wife, the receptionist and server can be hard of hearing at times, so speak up or kindly wave. :) Over the years this family has had only one other chef, a dependable and skilled chef in his own right! He is almost never seen, as Dawn is the sushi master in the front, but behind the scenes the food sizzles with wholesome goodness.

We recently moved from San Francisco Bay Area where 5 star sushi can be found on almost every corner. Needless to say that here in Oregon any type of ethnic food is scarce and great ethnic food is non existent. With that said after trying 4 other sushi places we finally found one that makes the grade. Sushi Town is a small family establishment that is the real deal. The restaurant is nicely decorated, looks and smells clean, and the staff is very friendly. The fish is as fresh as you could ask for and the portions are generous. They carry the standards such as rainbow roll, modified California rolls, etc plus a few nice surprises such as their Hawaiin roll. By no means am I saying this is the best sushi I have ever had but if you are in Salem it may be the best here

Both the sushi and non-sushi menu are great. Many people worry about things like food poisoning when it comes to raw fish, but I have NEVER had a less than satisfactory dining or post-dining experience at this restaurant. ^-^ Their sushi menu is diverse and the flavors are excellent. Ive tried many other sushi restaurants in the area (and abroad) and must say, this is my favorite place. The atmosphere is comfortable, the waiters/waitresses are friendly, and the food you didnt order smells just as great as the food you did. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great food, and for those of you who still cringe at the idea of raw fish, they do have several lovely rolls that are fully cooked, as well as a variety of non-sushi items. ;)

Having recently moved to the area, we have been trying out a lot of the local restaurants. We were very pleased by the service and quality of food at Sushi Town. The family-owned business is unassuming, but the sushi is fantastic! The prices were very reasonable, the sushi chef said that this was because he had used these prices for years, and did not want to change them. Kudos! The presentation of everything was impeccable! The special house cucumber roll was probably our favorite. Try and sit at the bar, watching the chef work was a good experience as well. Well be back for more(and for take-out)!

I love this place! Where do I start.. they start you off with this soup or cucumber salad I love. If your a newbie to Sushi...the Lion King is cooked and kids will love it to. My kids really like their Teriyaki Bowls. Theres so many great rolls to try; Hawian, California, Spider, Spicy Salmon and they can make that one HOT. Its a small family owned business but they treat you right. The chef is really sweet so sit at the counter and ask questions about the Sushi and get the 411 AMANDA L.

This is one of the places where you should sit at the counter and ask the sushi chef what is recommended that day. Then order it! I thought I didnt like uni- but was set straight by some really fresh pieces. And the white albacore was a delicate surprise. The fresh water eel had a crispy skin and none of that muddy flavor you get in some places. Second visit, and it is a special treat worth the hour and a half trip for me to get there. If I lived closer, Id be there every week.

Not really impressed. I ordered the lunch bento with teriyaki chicken, gyoza, and a cali roll. The gyoza tasted spoiled, but I couldnt bring it to the servers attention as she never came back. The chicken was over cooked and tough. The cali roll was ok. And they put Italian dressing on the salad. Not that theres any thing wrong with Italian dressing, but I was in a Japanese restaurant so....

When I was 18 I tried unagi in Beaverton and fell in love with sushi. Ever since then Ive tried to find unagi as good as that, but nothing! 8 years later, living in Salem, Im shocked to find I did it! And even more shocked to find its the same restaurant. They moved. :) I thought the decor looked familiar...
