My Husband and I were invited to go see a friend of ours band, Street Wise, play for the annual Halloween Party. Being a BIG fan of Halloween, we were excited to participate in the costume party celebration and decided to take advantage of the location and spend the night. We were so pleased upon arrival to find this beautifully restored historic building and the warm wonderful welcome we received at check in. The room was cozy, clean and decorated with the right antique touch. The energy of the people and place was exactly what you would look for when anticipating a night of fun, dancing, drinking and great music. The breakfast, which is included, was beyond our expectations. We both had the Denver Omlete, which was wonderful. We had the honor of meeting the owner and had wonderful conversation discussing her journey of, as she put it, the "building finding her" and her now more than 10 years success. We have found our Halloween Party Venue for years to come and highly recommend a stay for a few nights to anyone passing through the area, or if you just need to get away for a weekend.

I travel for work... A LOT!!! This year ive been to Wilmington OH about 3 times for the same client.... ive eaten here for Lunch and Dinner a few times....it is THE BEST restaurant in the city... this area has a few chain restaurants and they are pretty gross. This place has great food... The burgers are great! i have to give it all 5 stars... go there and eat. it does look weird from the outside and even when you walk in its a little shocking but the ladies there are so nice and the food is better than any of the other places there in the city. Im actually here (in Wilmington) now. Thinking about just going there again for dinner. its a good eat! I prefer sitting outside just because it gets a little cold inside...

We visited here when the sign said closed at 10:30 in the morning. We were approached at the front door by the owner asking us what we were looking for. When we told her breakfast, she said they were not serving breakfast on this day but would open for lunch at 11 am. She then said come in and asked what we would like for breakfast. She had them make whatever we wanted and then covered the bill and said welcome to Wilmington. We were invited in when they were closed, served breakfast they were not serving, and then the bill was paid for by the owner! Who does that? I say it was an owner who loves what she does, and the people she serves. The food by the way was amazing!

This is about an hour from our house and we go here when we are in the area. The quality of the food rivals the best gastropubs in Cincinnati and the prices are very affordable. Product is locally sourced when possible and the food never disappoints. The food and service is excellent every time, and the staff is very open to substitutions of menu items. I really enjoy the house made veggie burger and the fried green beans. Seasonal Local beer is on tap and a fair amount of bottled craft beer. I wish this was closer to my home!

Terrible service. Waited 40 minutes to be seated in the dinning room, which was empty when my family and I went in there. After seated we waited another 30 minutes to even have our drink orders taken. 20 minutes later we finally got our drinks. 15 minutes later our food orders were given. Another 40 minutes passed and we finally got our appetizer. 40 minutes later our entries finally arrived COFFEE and tasteless. TERRIBLE SREVICE!!! I WILL NEVER GO HERE AGAIN!!!!

My experience with the General Denver mostly involves the restaurant and pub. The food is outstanding, organic and locally sources. Jen, the chef, does an outstanding job with her menus and the Sunday brunch is amazing. Wine night is also a great time to sample menu items matched with great wines. I recommend this hotel for all who may be staying in Wilmington or tristate residents who want a relaxing and enjoyable dinner our or lunch.

The General Denver was great. The building has its quirks, but it was much more fun than staying in the usual box of a hotel. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and the included breakfast was more than we had expected. The Sunday brunch was fabulous, and we came back to have dinner in the restaurant. The atmosphere in the rooms was friendly and welcoming. Its great if you want an experience and not just a room for the night.

It was really busy during the fair but I feel that we had quick service. Great beers available (Ommegang Glimmerglass is not to be missed, fruity and peppery) I had the Huntsman sandwich and was surprised by the amount of roast beef on there, pretzel roll was fantastic. Atmosphere was warm, lots of wood and a weathered bar top with an old brass foot bar. Classy but not pretentious, a definite stop if youre in the area!

Older, unique looking eatery with a good selection of beer. If youre really hungry or impatient you might look elsewhere, for the service is painfully slow. There is zero fire in their step. With that said the food was pretty good. My wife had the parm crusted tilapia which was incredible. The dirt bag burger was decent.

Small town America vibe This quaint hotel & restaurant combo offers great food. We dined in on a busy Wednesday evening from out of town. We gambled and won on this gem. My 92 year young grandfather was served the spaghetti he ordered off menu, a really nice gesture that will keep us coming back when in town.

Overpriced and over hyped! Bathrooms were dirty, wait for food was long, although it was not busy and had many employees. Couldnt find anything on the menu that seemed delicious or reasonable for the price. If the food, or atmosphere was actually good than the price would have been worth it. Save your money.

Grab lunch here with colleagues several times a year. It can get a bit busy at lunch time which can lead to longer waits to be seated or get your meal. This is the only reason I dont go more often. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. The food is quite good. Prices are reasonable.

One of the best places to eat in Wilmington. Great decor (they even spruce it up for the holidays) and good food. Their lamb burger is probably the best thing on the menu. They also have quite the tap selection. Something cool to note is this is also a functional Hotel as well.

Every meal Ive ever eaten here has been wonderful. The service is excellent. Waiters genuinely want you to have a good experience and eager to answer questions and offer suggestion if you ask. Beer selection is on point. Theyve even had the ever elusive Galaxy High on tap!

Hotel has quaint feel to it. The hotel does an excellent job merging old America aesthetics with a few modern amenities. The attached dining area has excellent food at great prices. Staying at the hotel also has free real breakfast (bacon, eggs, fresh fruit).

Lamb burger was excellent. Had a few of their craft beers on tap that were also pretty good. Place is incredibly clean and staff were pleasant. Waitress was quick to come to table to refill drinks and food arrived fairly quickly for lunch on a Saturday.
