Food was good and the waitress was nice. I only had a problem with one thing. I asked if I could get a glass of water, and then asked if the water was bad flint water. The waitress said yes so then she brought me a bottle. I was charged for the bottle $1.79. I just thought this was strange because usually water is free in a glass, and if you cant offer it in a glass shouldnt it be free in a bottle? Additionally, the water is given out for free, they dont even pay for the water bottles. I just felt like I was being nickle and dimed. if a family of four came in and wanted to order DRINKABLE, SAFE water, they would have to pay $7. This is not OK and I have a problem with that.

I normally have nothing but good things to say about this place, so I wanted to take my brother there for a burger while we were in the area. We stopped in to grab a quick bite at about 4:30 yesterday. Where we go there there was only one other group of 3 people that had already been served when we arrived, we ordered our burgers and waited 45 minutes for them to arrive. The waitress was great, and on top of everything, Im just not sure what was taking so long back at the grill. Our quick stop ended up taking WAY longer than it should have.

Stopped by while I was in town and had the worst experience. The waitress yelling at potential customers and the bartender accusing our party of taking the tip that was on the table. Obviously this place does not understand the service industry. It was semi busy in the restaurant, however, even at the worst they need to be at their best. I would encourage anyone to avoid this place If you are looking for a good quality flint experience.

If you are a burger-lover, you need to visit this place. Even if you live 100 miles away, the burgers are worth the trip. They cook it on a tiny range to the side of the bar. Best burger in the state in my opinion. Large parties can have a tough time with seating here because it is very small. Recommended for a date or parties 4 or under. Friendly atmosphere.

Had heard good things about this place so decided to try it. We were very disappointed. The portions were very small for the price and they charge you for every topping you want on your burger. Was also very upset when a bartender stated vaping in the restaurant and blew the smoke right towards our table. Very disrespectful and rude. Will not be going back.

Met a friend for lunch and drinks here on a Sunday afternoon. I was glad I had the GPS turned on, because I wouldnt have found it, tucked away in an alley. But Im glad I did. The staff was friendly, the beer list had a wide selection, and the burgers were delicious. Parking was easy on a Sunday, and its only a brief walk to the U of M campus in Flint.

Have been looking forward to coming here for months and finally did it, today. And it worth the trip downtown.. Wonderfully simple burger - cooked perfectly, great flavor. The onion rings and fries were great too. Hard to beat the prices, as well. Like others have said, it makes you feel like youve found a hidden gem.

Long time loving patron of the torch here in flint, but unfortunately lately service has been lacking. Recently, I was refused service at this bar for no apparent reason. While service here has been great in the past, apparently the their standard has been changing. At least there was free popcorn.

This place has awesome burgers and Bloody Marys. The staff is pleasant and knowledgeable. I really dig the alley entrance but its hard to find parking and its a pretty small place for how popular it is so it gets crowded and hard to find seating. Doesnt stop me though! Still love it!

Excellent craft beer selection and the famous "Torch Burger" are found at this alleyway bar in the heart of downtown Flint. Located in a safe area of the downtown, the torch has a great atmosphere filled with Flint and Michigan decor, along with great music and a terrific wait staff!

If youre of a certain age in Flint youre either a Torch person or a White Horse person. Im a Torch person! The small space and central location have always been appealing. Great burgers and a decent beer selection. Not overly fancy, but a good place to grab a few beers with friends.

This place has gone downhill. The fryer grease tastes like it was previously used in a 1998 Buick. I couldnt get past the first few fries. The burgers are always burnt on the outside and bloody in the middle. Disgusting.

I was not impressed with this place and the owner seemed like a jerk. I will not be going there ever again and would not recommend it to anyone. It was small, dark and gross and just an odd place.

It was during a festival and it was the only place you could go and sit down and have a conversation. Everywhere else techno music was blaring. Good atmosphere, good bar tender.

Great service and great food. The ONLY problem I have with them is that they are so small so seating is limited. They have been a part of Flint for over 50 years.
