While definitely more expensive than other nearby restaurants, its also a lot cleaner, nicer, with great service. The food is good, not great. The appetizers were altogether better than the entrees. The empanada de carne (beef empanada) was very good: not oily, robust, flavorful filling, perfect exterior. The sauce that came with it was also very good. The tamalito de Olga was good, very good corn flavor, inconsistent distribution of meat (theres very little meat, its mostly the corn). We also enjoyed the plantain chips that are free on the table with the cilantro mayonnaise. The star of the evening was the yuca relleno. WHOA. Would go back just for that. A whipped yuca encompasses a finely ground beef filling, with a light fried exterior. Covered in a cilantro, mustard, mayo dressing. Its great. The arroz con pollo is solid, strong tomato paste flavor and tender chicken (good mix of dark and white meat). Finely sliced peppers are fantastic in it, served with some delicious maduros. The lechon asado is mediocre and we wouldnt order it again. The moro (rice & beans) was good, with nice cumin. The puerco (pork) itself was fairly dry and while it shredded easily it wasnt tender, it was also not salty enough. The staff were fantastic.

For its location (Harlem, near the 110st stop on the 6 line), its pretty expensive. We were 3 people and we paid $150 before tip. The live upbeat cuban music is why we came here, and it was good indeed, but the food and drinks did not live up to our expectations. The cocktails were super-loaded with sugar, my mojito arrived and it had just one piece of lime in it and one mint leaf, and who knows how many spoons of sugar. I showed them the photos from their ads and asked for no sugar and only then they made it properly. The red sangria was disgusting, probably the worst and awfully sweet sangria Ive had in my life. Overall, Id recommend you go there only when they have specials for the drinks, and only when they have live music. Opt for sitting at the bar, skip the food unless you are ready to overpay, Manhattan style.

I was excited about eating at this new Cuba restaurant when I drove by one evening and saw the live entertainment. Visited on a Sunday evening and was not impressed. The food was very bland. Except for the ropa vieja, that was actally pretty tasty. The black beans, no flavor. I guess its a hit or miss! I am latina and my food is better than this. Ive been to other Cuban restaurants and this place has nothing on them. Exept for the entertainment, that was a nice touch. Small space. Cute decor! But the food just okay. And way too expensive for the portion and the area it is located! Although if your in the neighborhood...it is worth to check out. Have a drink/appetizer and enjoy the musica!

Just visited there last night after seeing some of the reviews while I was in NY. Im cuban myself so its a big deal for me to find the best place with the food being the real deal. I was not dissapointed in the atmosphere, the place though small, was filled with music and very elegant indeed. The waiting time was reasonable considering my dad ordered fried fish :) I would only provide feedback on some of the prices, dont mean to sound stingy, but I think it was a little over priced overall (four ppl at 108) for the amount of food that was given (I did mention we were Cuban :) but we had a good time and my parents approved in the end, so it was worth it :)

The restaurant is lovely. I went to a conference nearby and went to amor cubano for lunch. I had an hour. I was late to the conference because the kitchen was overwhelmed. There was only one other table with two customers. Instead of prioritizing the kitchen staff chose to unload a delivery. The waitstaff was very kind and professional but the kitchen was too slow. Folk have limited time for lunch so the restaurant policy has to cater to a lunchtime population. My low score is because I never ate the main dish for the lunch special.

BEST CUBAN FOOD IN NY. This place is incredible--great atmosphere (low key, yet nice. often has live music), wonderful service (attentive and NICE staff), and unbeatable food. Every time I come here, I love it more and more. Items to order: Beef empanadas, ham croquetas, chorizo, paella a la valenciana (its HUGE), sweet plantains, flan, tres leches. Mojitos are made fresh and fruit flavored ones are made with real, fresh fruit.

Amazing service and food! I have HIGH standards for Cuban food and know some 5-star places in Miami area and Boston. Amor Cubano by far blew them away with quality of food and service. A bit pricey but so so worth it. Had horrible experience at some other Latin-Caribbean places in El Barrio and if youre looking for great food, service and drinks - Amor Cubano is the place to go!

Great place to eat a mean cubano. Viewed the menu while waiting for my cubano which came with plantain chips and they have a great selection of food that looks tasty. Actually made my mouth water. What caught my eye was the Ensalada Criolla and the Caldosa Del Barrio. Wont give details come and find out for yourself. Live band during the night life all weekend.

Tired of fancy ultra popular and packed nyc brunch hangouts, my husband and I stumbled upon this gem in spanish harlem. Brings back memories of miamis little havana restaurants. Amazing coffee coffee and pastries. The omelette with plantains and mozzarella was absolutely perfect. Service prompt and pleasant. Place is very clean. Highly recommended !

The ambience and the live entertainment were great, I will give it a 4 star. The food was awful the black beans were very watery and full cumin, I will give it a half a star. The mojito I had you could see a brownish rim around the lime wedges and the mint leafs showing how not so fresh they were, I will also give a half star

I gave this place 4 stars instead of 5, because of the floor layout. The tables are very cramped together and not capable of handling more than two, 5 person or more parties. Otherwise, the MUSIC, FOOD, STAFF, BAND, AND SANGRIA IS EXCELLENT. If you go to this, you absolutely must try the red snapper!

The food was excellent, fresh, and not at all greasy! They offer Bellinis with their brunch, which is always a treat, and instead of peach, they use mango. Everyone enjoyed their food and drinks (which were good and strong). $16 for unlimited AND you can switch between sangria, mimosa, and Bellinis.

Ordered a traditional cuban sandwich and was disappointed after waiting 10 minutes for a sandwich that was very improperly prepared.First the bread was stale and wasnt pressed. It lacked flavor and is not worth the wait or money for $11.00. I would not recommend a friend or stranger to eat here.
