I went for unlimited all you can eat korean BBQ. Owner was so unfriendly and cheap! yes, cheap. We had 6 people - which they only had tables for 4.. So we sat in 2 different tables. Owner just gave us 1 set of side dishes to share between the 2 tables!! I did ask for more and she gave us more side dishes,, but I should not have to ASK!! Also, one of our friends was a vegetarian. When we told owner that, she did not forget to mention: "If she eats even 1 piece of meat from BBQ, we will charge full price for you too". Despite the fact that the vegetarian friend ordered her own dish!! I was just WOW.. did she really say that?? Also, after Im guessing what the owner felt we had enough - she stopped refilling BBQ meat. And when we asked for more (Again, I should not have to ask as I am paying $30 per person for unlimited BBQ), she gave me a dirty-as look before giving us more.. Also with the poor service, I decided to give smaller tip (I still gave 20% - I usually give more tip depending on how good service was) and not only she was waiting for me to write how much I was giving for tip, but she also gave me a look again after she saw how much I left. She probably didnt realize that I understand Korean - and she mumbled "why so little" in Korean right in my face.. I know its the only Korean BBQ place in Dayton area,, and thats probably why they can be so RUDE to customers.. (The servers are great.. owner,, NOT!!) This is the very typical OLD Korean way of treating others that they feel are less than you.. DO NOT recommend. Besides,, food - all the while that it is not authentic Korean, food is OK. Sushi is also again, not authentic Japanese (there are plenty of better Japanese places) but it is still OK food..

These people really care about their customers. I have never had a bad experience here. Whenever I visit, they always treat me as a friend and a guest in their establishment. Our most recent experience was great. My husband and I went and took our 3 month old with us and she was a little fussy, so I was getting a little exasperated , trying to hold her and still eat my food. One lady, who was possibly one of the owners, came and held my daughter, even after I said how fussy she was going to be for a stranger. But she calmed down right away and was so happy in this persons care. Most mothers would freak at the idea of letting a stranger hold their child, but I felt she was safe the whole time. I got to enjoy the rest of my food, and see my little girl smile and giggle. Oh yeah, the food is great too. This is a FAMILY business, you can tell from the moment you step into the place, they are courteous , clean and pay attention to detail.

I will give Sima two stars because their food is absolutely fantastic. However they are always understaffed and their prices keep going up. I used to be a regular at this restaurant but unfortunately will never return due to the prices. Yes it is worth paying a little bit more for but their prices have raised so drastically that they cannot even come close to being competitive to other restaurants like them. If you order for takeout you will not get a salad or miso soup but you will pay the same price. They say it is an incentive to eat there. When you can get a sushi and sashimi boat for two at Thai 9 for $44.95 and order the same thing from Sima and not get the miso or ginger salad but pay $99.99. Lol, I think not! Gouging and not worth it!

Very nice and upscale Korean and Japanese restaurant. They have an excellent assortment of sushi rolls and some special varieties that are out of the ordinary. Their lunchtime buffet is a steal. They typically have a selection of Korean barbecue dishes, a noodle dish and a salad bar. They also put out a sushi bar during the buffet. Unlike a lot of sushi buffets, they dont just put out the cheapest and most common rolls like spicy tuna--the array of sushi they place on their buffet is amazing. The staff are very friendly and the last time we went to the lunch buffet, the owner stopped by our table and chatted for a while. The restaurant itself is a little older but very clean and elegant.

Its one of the best restaurants Ive been to, especially in Dayton. The decor is really nice and you can tell the owners really love their work. Theyre constantly there, putting in the work and getting to know the guests. Not only are they genuinely wonderful people who want to create a great dining experience for you, but their food is great, too! For instance, they use fresh crab meat instead of crab sticks in their sushi and their grilled meats off of the Korean menu are ridiculously tasty. I shared some with the people at my table and they immediately ordered their own plates worth. For the lively, the Kims encourage sake bombs, something normally frowned upon in most restaurants.

The prices are outlandish for what you receive. Ive been to dozens of sushi restaurants in Ohio alone and the quality and taste of this sushi is simply not there. I would not recommend this to anyone. I ate there twice to make sure it wasnt me or maybe they had a bad shipment but it is just the quality they go for. If you want a nice place to get the full experience and quality sushi, go to Tai 9 or Sushi Cafe. This place is too costly and the food is as bland as I could have asked for. The rice had water dripping out from it as well. Save yourself the money and dont take anyone here for their first time otherwise theyll never want sushi again....

Some friends and I are in Dayton taking a class. We have been here for three weeks and we originally went to Sima because it was close to our class. We were really excited not only by the decor of the restaurant, which is one of the best in a sushi restaurant I have ever seen, but also by the food. We absolutely loved our experience. We tried another sushi restaurant the second week we were here because it was closer to our lodging but were very disappointed by the other restaurant. I highly recommend Sima if you are in the Dayton area. I have tried sushi all over the United States and this restaurant serves some of the best.

Last year my son and daughter-in-law were relocating from Japan to Texas with the military. I took them to eat at Sima, and my daughter-in-law was completely thrilled with the food, the service and the decor. She loved the buttons at the table to call the wait-staff because thats what they have in Japan. The food was perfection. I think the owners and the staff have a wonderful restaurant and a tremendous menu. Im a professional chef, and I cant think of any other Japanese or Korean restaurant I would want to go to over this establishment.
