Visited this location 2/11/17, and was very disappointed by this experience. We read some reviews about the hostess/owner who would chide customers for certain things, but sort of waved it off. We sat at a booth, not being huge fans of the sit by the grill experience. For the duration of the meal the hostess kept making weird comments, like griping that I changed my order from donburi to the hibachi, trying to take the chopsticks off the table after delivering our drinks to us, and then commenting when I didnt eat certain vegetables from the plate. Of course, mixing sauce into fried rice makes it difficult to eat with the chopsticks so I did end up only using them for the meat and larger vegetables, but I jokingly told my partner I half expected her to come scold me for keeping the chopsticks when I wasnt using them. My partner ordered the Sushi Dinner Deluxe. The sushi pieces were quite large, but the rice fell to pieces before it could be eaten, and the quality of the fish was sub-par (glossy/fatty). The shrimp sushi piece tasted spoiled, tangy and overly fishy. This was an $18.95 plate of sushi, and it was mostly repeated pieces of the cheapest possible cuts they had (2 salmon, 2 tuna, 2 nasty shrimp, 2 white fish). $16.95 hibachi had a generous portion, good mix of vegetables. Lots of rice. The fried rice had an off taste, like charred beef from the hibachi. Meat was very cheap cut, fat and gristle. I may have been more forgiving of quality issues if this was a cheaper place, but at these prices I had no mercy. Pro: Food came out super fast Seated quickly Decor was nice Cons: Quality was awful Hostess was stressful Place was literally abandoned I would rather driver further down the road to Englewood to eat at Ozu than eat here. If you doubt this review, just look at the picture I posted of the sushi, versus a House Sushi (at the same price, no less) from Ozus.

If I could give a negative rating, this restaurant would certainly deserve it. When I read reviews about the poor service, I thought that people must be exaggerating. THEY WERE NOT. When we walked in, no one working there even acknowledged our presence. A person went back and forth behind the counter at the entrance, but never said a word to us. After about 15 minutes, we stopped someone walking by to ask about being seated. After about an hour, we were finally seated. (The place was no where near being full.) Once we were seated, it was about another 20 minutes before someone came to take drink orders. After waiting another 15 minutes or so, we politely asked about how long it would take before we could be served. We were not complaining, we just wanted to get an idea of how much longer we would have to wait. (We were wondering because the people at the table behind us were seated long before we were and the chef had not yet come out to prepare their food and we didnt know if anyone had even taken their orders yet.) We were told, in a callous voice with obvious disdain, that if we didnt want to wait, we could leave. She was clearly annoyed that, after waiting more than an hour and a half, we would dare ask how much longer we might have to wait. We, along another party got up and left. I would not recommend this place to anyone. YES, THE RUDENESS AND POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS AS BAD AS PEOPLE SAY. Obviously, some people have had better experiences here, but there are too many negative reviews to write this off as a rare occurrence. Even if the food is good, outrageously rude and ridiculously poor service should not be rewarded.

This place is fairly new. I ate here the first week and the service was horrible.. come to find out that it was because all of there wait staff had left. But the food ( hibachi side) was fantastic! So we gave it another go! Ever since then we have had nothing but compliments! The chefs are fantastic and have a good humor. The food is wonderful i always have the hibachi steak and my husband has the hibachi chicken. We have never ate the sushi but friends who get it says its wonderful!!! They also have no problem with my special requests ( extra egg in rice, no mushrooms..more sauce ect..)The soup taste like onion soup at any other place and the salad dressing is so delicious! You get two large shrimp as an appitizer as well. Which ends up being part of my husbands meal since i do not eat it. Overall i think this place is wonderful. This is definantly a place i will continue to go..I have been here about 10-15 times now. Oh i should mention that i have been to fujiyama, sake and a place in columbus and i think this place is just as good. ( frankly i am not impressed with sake, which is the other local one) And the prices are a tad more affordable!! :)

My Family,Friends and myself frequent Osaka however i had a very disturbing expirence this time November 12,2016 i Came for Lunch i ordered of of the lunch menu hibachi and i was charged regular dinner price and was told there was no lunch! Mind you i was thee only customer in there at 11am. A couple came in and sat to tabled ahead of mine. There were discussing the menu..the lunch menu.matter of fact the same thing i otdered! I told them becareful that they dont want a surprise bill because my server told me there was no lunch special today. The gentlemen showed me on the lunch page it was indeed lunch 1030-300pm. I asked the server Johnny that makes the "Johnny Special" drinks that are horrible! I aske him why did he tell me it wasnt lunch and he charged me dinner price! He was very rude to me and did not refund my money and insulted my intelligence. So i let him know he would not see me anymore nor my Friends or Family!! I also done a Fb Live video all about it!! And told all my friends &family to not go &patronize OSAKA!! IT HAS 600 VIEWS!! AND COUNTING! LEARN JOHNNY IT DOES NOT PAY TO CHEAT OR BE RUDE TO CUSTOMERS!!!!!!

We used the living social coupon and visited Osaka twice. The first time we sat at the Hibachi tables. Service was extremely slow and the portion sizes were very small. I only ordered one beverage because the server never made it back to offer me another until my meal was half over. The second time, we sat at the dining room tables. The shrimp was really tough and the service was poor. I asked the waiter to bring me the Hibachi sauces and he failed to do so until my meal was almost over. I will say that the tuna roll was very good. I would definitely not recommend this establishment to anyone.

The food was great but the lady who took our order (shes there all the time) was very rude and impatient. She was very push trying to get us to spend more then we wanted and scoffed audibly and directly at us when we said we wanted only 1 roll, we said that was it for now. She then said if i dont order anymore right that second we wont get anymore because they refuse to make them 1 by 1. I dont know what her problem is but sushi tastes better the sooner it gets to you old sushi sitting out while i eat the first roll it would lose t he flavor. Would not dine again, a shame since the food was great.
