This was the worst first impression I had of a restaurant in my life. We went with my family and to our surprise we were seated very quickly. I am not going to complain about that. I am glad that we were seated immediately. However, I will say that the service was awful. We were seated quickly but no one came to get our drink orders. 15 minutes later a server came not to take our orders or anything but to tell us to move to another seat. Immediately the obvious response of the customer would be "why do we have to move?" She did not want to understand the question we posed and stared at us with a blank expression. After a very long minute she figured she would respond in an extremely rude manner. "You have to move because we have others waiting for this table". Great! So just because we didnt have a reservation we had to move. We made it very clear for them that they were making a mistake and a bad first impression for themselves. Nevertheless they didnt seem to care. As a first time customer we felt like we were simply kicked out of the restaurant. If there were an option for one star this restaurant would receive it.

Sushi With Ambition. The breakdown... Sushi (i.e. the rice): good temperature and texture but the flavor was not as deep nor complex as some of the more traditional places Ive been to. Sashimi: better than average. uni is fairly firm, but the o-toro (though well-marbled) was closer to chu-toro Ive had at other places. The rest were plenty good. Sake: good upper-mid range bottles, served properly. Green Tea: a proper kona cha Staff: Cheerful and helpful The menu: has much of the standard rolls, nigiri and sashimi as most sushi joints. Creativity is quite good. Prices are fair for the area and for what you get. High points were fresh wasabi, good quality sashimi as well as their deeper offerings, like fried cod sperm, and foie gras with shitake mushroom demiglace. I got a hint of french influence in their offerings and presentation. These guys are aspiring to something a bit more unique and I think in most aspects theyre hitting the mark. This isnt a cheap date (nor should any good sushi place be), but the atmosphere is definitely lends itself to intimacy.

You have to know which sort of ingredients you prefer in your sushi rolls or else you run the risk of a bad combination of ingredients but some of their rolls are amazing. The menu has a great selection of different sushi rolls each distinct with a special burst of flavor. I do highly recommend the New York Strip Roll. Heated Salmon is AMAZING!! Super crunch with added Avocado is really great! The ambiance is nice too. Nice, quiet but upbeat music in the background and the interior looks very modern. I definitely recommend this place for a date or if you just want a great dining experience. :) Try the white zin. Note to readers. Dont go to The Lobster House for Sushi or anything else. Youve been warned. I saw a review in here where someone actually recommended it. LoL! What a joke. Biggest waste of money ever. And I would also like to add that the rolls at Sushi Nami have increased in size over the months so you definitely get more for your buck than you used too.

Forced us to pay for food that wasnt good. We eat Japanese on a weekly basis. They actually raised there voice and where very rude to my wife! They took the food from her. Then tasted it. They then came back and told my wife the food was good and it was just her! Shes was pretty upset. All this over $10. I asked to speak to a manager and the manager was sick and not in. They instead called the owner and the owner said they would split her order with us since the food was good. Look we eat Japanese all the time. It was bad. You made a bad dish. Man up and take care of it. We ordered something else. You should be better than this! Pretty amazing.

Was our favorite go-to for sushi, and after our latest visit, we will not be back. I am not one to complain, but I am seriously disappointed here. Here is why (1) our wine glasses smelled as if try had been wiped out with a rag the sushi chefs use. (2) the crab in the spider roll (a cooked roll) we got was not cooked nearly well enough. The center was cold, slimy and smelled like old hot bait- It was all I could do to not vomit at the bar after eating one of the lesser cooked pieces (3) after showing our waitress, I expected to not have to pay for that roll, but I did. (4) it is tough to prove the link, but my wife and I both got sick with stomach issues.

The food was excellent! The service was great! I highly recommend this restaurant. The menu is rather extensive so if you are not a sushi fan, no worries you will be able to find something you like to eat. Also, there is tons of cooked sushi options if you are not into raw sushi. The ambience was great and I had tons of room at the sushi bar. Some sushi bars you feel as if you are sitting on the person next to you, here I was not. The rolls were perfectly made and did not fall apart when picking up with chop sticks. The portions are pretty big so order wisely. It is a little pricey, but you pay for what you get.

Went to Sushi Nami yesterday. It was hard to talk to each other because of the noisy surroundings. Placed our order and when it it arrived it was the wrong order so had to send it back. Finally got our order and the fish was warm, like it had been sitting out of the refridgerator for awhile. It also had a strong fish smell which means it was not very fresh. For the price, quility of the service and food, I will NOT EVER go back to Sushi Nami. For all the good reviews it has I was expecting better. My mistake.

The atmosphere is very claustrophobic and in addition very rude staff. We were seated at table but the server took forever to come. The only reason she came was so she could move us because the table was actually reserved for a party. The servers were not helpful in trying to keep us happy. This kind of behavior is not acceptable anywhere. Id much rather go somewhere else and wait for a table. They wasted our time and the time of the people who had reserved the table. Absolutely terrible first time experience.

Our favorite neighborhood Sushi place (4x/month). Sushi is always fresh, service is good. Can get crowded at dinner, so make a reservation. Their black cod dish was outta this world good. It has since been replaced with a Sea Bass that is also very good. Everyone loves the Ahi Poki here. Large variety of rolls and hand rolls to suit tastes. Lots of people meet for sushi parties here, but make a reservation for a large group. And did I mention the Fried Cod Sperm is always on special!

Where to start with Sushi Nami? Their sushi is out of this world delicious. They also have carb free rolls (try the Akami roll, definitely my favorite). Their menu is very creative, it isnt like your typical japanese restaurant but includes similar items you will find. This restaurant is a little on the more expensive side, but then again good sushi is well worth the price. Try to snag a seat at the bar, the chefs love to interact with the people who sit there.
