Im about to spend some time writing the better business bureau. I knew when I went there, this time; gratuity was required. But then the menu states party of 4. Well we were a party of 3. 2 adults and a 4 year old. So you would think we didnt fit their requirements for gratuity. This is not my only issue or I would of just over looked it & paid because it I expected gratuity. Im a returning mistreated customer prepared for gratuity. I learned from the last time, when they stole the person I was dining with 2 dollars change from her bill. Gratuity due on separate bills? This is about the 3rd time they have been shady with me. I eat out and I tip. I can give Yaw a list of places, Im a reg & they know...take care of her. Yes, I know someone in there knows who I am. "The lady with the child thats scared of the fire; who cried & ruined everyones dinner....but she still insist on eating here." & we TAKE her crying baby money. I made sure she was tough enough this time and she didnt cry. Well, neither SAKURA or her will have to worry. I really dont know who is going to hurt the most. They charged me for extra shrimp when I ordered extra shrimp appetizer for 3. Well, they gave me 1 extra shrimp appetizer & 2 extra shrimp servings. But I ordered the lunch speicals??? Really! So repeat your order 15xs. I will go downtown if I decide to even spend my money @ another Japanese Steakhouse. SAKURA has made it bad for everyone. Besides, me not coming back spending my money @ any of them....lets see how.....This is the first time, in a very long time; I felt the chef earned his tip. Im the customer who tips the waiter and the chef. I want Ronnie to know he should take his boss talent somewhere else. Ronnie management ruined Ur tip today & it wasnt about gratuity or how good you were preparing our food; it was about SAKURA always being defensive. Everyones not out to hustle them for a meal. Unfortunately, I was a regular unsatisfied customer; who has finally had it with this place. I hope you build up the nerve to put the manager on the phone tomorrow when I call. Sounds guilty 2 me. You cant spend nor count whats in my pocket. It is sad you say ppl were not tipping so I have to. Sounds like ur running away good customers because of a few bad ones. Being I have given SAKURA so many chances. I think ppl were not tipping because of the service. Im ready to make a sign & stand outside of this place cold and all. They just dont know, Im Boycott Momma! My family talks me out of a lot of this kind of action by begging me to just a write a letter.

Everything about this place is horrible. From the terribly made website that seams as if it is either a joke, or was created by a 12 year old with skills limited to MSPaint....to the 2.5 hour wait on our food. We made reservations at 8:30, we didnt get seated until 8:50, we then waited over an hour before we got our soup, another 30 minutes before they collected our empty soup bowls, and another 30 minutes before the chef finally showed up...but wait! he forgot someones entire meal. Oh...and Im pretty sure this restaurant does not have waiters or waitresses...if they do...I never saw one. I had to go get my own beer 3 times...Here is the great part of that though! The first time I got my own beer, it cost me 5 dollars because she told me she couldnt open the cash register....what the heck? how do you even work here if you cant....whatever....the 2nd time I go to get my beer...the cash drawer is open this time....so she slips my $5 bill into the drawer, drops her arms and does absolutely nothing....she then very slowly turns around to see if I am still there....I had to ask for my change back and she was stunned that I wanted it....Im sorry....bud lite does not cost $5..it costs $3.75...and I had to get it myself...so there goes your tip. Oh, and...the place is in the hood for real...we were seriously the only white couple in the entire place...not that Im racist at all...but you get a sense of uncomfortableness when you are the only one of your complexion in a place...it works both ways...not only for white people. Back to the point...the yum yum sauce...or was it ginger sauce? I couldnt tell...their yum yum tastes like genjis ginger sauce and their ginger sauce tastes like water brown food colouring and salt. A lot of salt. In fact, so much salt that half my table couldnt finish their salads and nobody asked for anymore yum yum on anything. Oh...and they told a couple next to me that they actually didnt even take reservations...but wait...didnt I have one? Or was that just a lie and a ploy to get me to come into your place of business? 80 dollars on me and my girlfriends meal....you seriously get better service, and more reliable food at your typical chipotle or wendys...if you are going to spend that kind of money, I promise you should not spend it here...you will be thoroughly disappointed.

My companion and I went to Sakura for dinner on Saturday night. There was a 45 minute wait for a table--we expected that. We went to the bar to order drinks. There was no bartender, but someone would show up sporadically and serve some drinks. Was not allowed to order any sushi or appetizers at the bar--didnt expect that. After being seated at our table, we wondered if there would be a waitperson come. Finally got some drinks, followed shortly by some soup. Wondered if the guy was ever coming back. Commented to my companion that the staff seemed to be totally overwhelmed. Finally got salad. Forty minutes after being seated, the chef showed up--Im thinking we should have already had our entire meal by then. The chef did his job satisfactorily. The waitperson never showed up to refill drinks. My steamed rice came after my meal was finished. My companions dessert came after we asked for our check and a take home box. We got the check and--guess what!--they had already added a 15% gratuity!! Are you kidding me?!! I questioned that and was told they add it to all checks. I had been there several times previously and never had a gratuity automatically added to my check. I think the place must be going under if they are that desperate!! I dont plan to go back. There are enough Japanese steakhouse style restaurants in this city that I can go to one where I can get good service AND decide on how much that service was worth!

Heed my words. DO NOT ENTER THIS PLACE!!!! The establisment is run like a 3rd rate take out spot (No seriously). If you are enamored by the decor and fail to heed my words, you will be given ample time to admire the decor of the waiting area. If you are so enamored that you fail to leave, then you might just be sat. Now you are given time to read the useless menu and ponder upon what it all means while you wait for you waiter. If you made it long enough to see said waiter and it happens to be ANDREW, consider this your final warning, put down your menu, get up and quietly vacate the premises and head down the street to Kobe. If not, then youre in for the most awkward restaurant experience yet mostly due to Andrew being a rude, impatient, smug, socially inept jerk. Your chef might be nice, but that only makes up for his lack of skill and showmanship. If you made it through your experience, dont bother asking for the manager, because there isnt one, instead youre greeted by most likely another useless waiter (who claims to be "one of the owners") who in lieu of helping you reach a resolution, will defend and make you out to be the jerk. You now get to watch the unapologetic Andrew mock you while he dances (no joke) towards the kitchen. Why would he apologize? After-all, youve been forced to pay an 18% gratuity. CONSIDER YOURSELF WARNED!!!!
