I passed by this place hundreds of times and never had any desire to try it out. The exterior is weathered and unkempt. I imagined the neglect in the kitchen was probably 3 fold worse. I would have continued to pass it by had my brother not persuaded me to try out the lunch buffet one day. He’s the size of a brown bear and has an appetite to match. The day he broke me down, he looked particularly hungry for food and company. My heart overtook my brain and I agreed to dine here with him. The meal was fine. Pretty standard Chinese fare with a few American and Italian staples like burgers and pizza. In addition to hot dishes, there was an extensive salad bar with peel-and-eat shrimp. I avoided these shrimp like the plague even though they were amply iced. The dessert station was also fairly large and varied. I had a good 2 plates of the hot stuff, piled high. Mon frere gobbled up 3.5 heaping plates in the same amount of time. After a small pause to let the food settle, we headed to the dessert station together. We bypassed the almond cookies, jello, cakes, and fortune cookies and approached the do-it-yourself ice cream station. My beastly brother zoomed ahead of me, emitting a mock sinister chuckle, and fabricated a monstrous sundae with all the fixin’s. When my turn came, I approached the machine and grabbed a plastic dish. Studying the levers and the flavors that belonged to each, I noticed something strange resting atop the ice cream dispenser. A cockroach the size of a small gerbil lay supine in a small pool of chocolate-vanilla swirl. He waved a leg at me before I could turn away. I bolted from the roach-run ice cream station and intercepted my bro before he could sit down. Grabbing his arm, I frowned at him and shook my head swiftly. He knew immediately something was very wrong. He glanced at his sundae and back at me, with a face so jointly horrified and sad, I couldn’t even begin to describe it. I nodded gently and mournfully, affirming his fears. He understood he would not be eating his masterfully concocted dessert. Parting with his dish was like torture. We paid the bill in silence and left. Outside, I informed him of the exact reason for our departure. He rocked back on his heels, hiccupped, leaned forward, putting his hands on his thighs…and threw up all over his shoes and a small statue of Buddha. The sight of the aggressive vomiting turned my stomach. I leaned to the side and yorked in an empty coy pond. An old couple about to enter stopped at the door and watched us. They did not go in.

ANYONE who calls this a buffet has the wrong place. The only Chinese buffet near here is New Peking Buffet down the street. Wah Yoan is a great take away Chinese place. Its in a plaza behind applebees next to publix. The family that owns it is wonderful, the food isgreat, and I have never once in the YEARS my family has been going there seen it dirty. People should try finding the proper restaurant before they give someone a bad review like those above. Google and the other review sites should remove these inaccurate reviews about a buffet down the street.

With due respect Dessert - you are referring to an old Chinese Buffet in an out building on the corner of Button & 17-92. I agree with you that they were TERRIBLE! No wonder they went out of business. Wah Yoan is a little shop thats part of the actual strip center and I have to say that they have some of the best take-out around. I used to live right behind it and ordered frequently. Now I live in Lake Mary and after trying a couple of take-outs there, I still go down to Casselberry to get take-out from these folks.

Food is satisfactory, I order from here often. I gave them two stars because the younger employee answering the phone never seems to want to take your order, rushes you off the phone and he is very impersonal. At times if he answers the phone I just dont order. I usually only order if his older and much friendlier brother is answering the phone.

The food was good and they give pretty good portions for what you pay. The staff were also really nice as well. The only reason I gave them four stars instead of five was because the bathrooms in their take out restaurant were not properly kept. Overall, a good choice if you are looking for Chinese food in the area.

I dont come here very often even though I live right down the street, but I have never had a bad experience here! Food is great, staff is friendly, it normally does not take me very long to get what I order... no they may not be the best but this is usually the first place I go to if I want Chinese food.

My coworker, boss, and I cant get enough of this place! Rare that we all agree! Customer service is great! They are super friendly. They recognize our voices when we call to order! We LOVE them! The price is definitely right! Best take out Chinese in this area! From the tofu girl!

Ordered two lunch specials.... opened first container... chicken and broc... 5 pieces of strip chicken...covered of tons of broccoli ... what the h..... general two chicken.... hard as a rock... so disappointed....

Great food!! Very fresh vegetables. The service was ok; its like any other Chinese restaurants, but the food at Wah Yoan is better than most around town. They have the best General Tsos Chicken!!!!

I come here all the time. Right next to Publix of Casselberry. Love their food! Good portions. Shrimp with broccoli is the best. The people there are super sweet as well. My go to, for take out.
