Good food but service was lacking. Went for all you can eat buffet, took along time to get each serving with long spans of empty plates. Was not all you can eat because they halt our order and did not bring out everything we ordered saying we ordered too much. Party of four (3 adults 1 child) 6 rolls some appetizers. Granted the food was in the good side the experience was not much of a buffet. Aside from service there is very limited selection of dipping sauce aside from soy sauce and Saracha. What we did get a whole lot of was the Shumai dumpling which was small and full of fillers. Couldnt tell if there were shrimp or pork in it. Long story, good food, bad service and you dont get your full buffet order unless you demand it. Asking for the where about of your food multiple times will not guarantee that it will come out in twenty minutes or longer. Ours never came out so we decided to call it a night.

What a pleasant experience! We walked in in a Thursday evening and were seated immediately. Our server was quick and responsive and any question he was unable to answer, he would find the answer. The meat was cooked perfectly and the sauces are yummy. It is obvious that care has been taken to select high quality ingredients. The Saki was smooth and delicious. The best part of the whole experience is the lack of MSG in the food which prevented severed gastrointestinal distress that was experienced after trips to every other Japanese restaurant in town. If you can deal without the dog and pony show and the ear piercing music and listening to other peoples conversations, then you will find a very enjoyable Japanese Restaurant at Shotgun.

Ive been coming here for a few months now. The place started off fantastic even though it is Chinese owned, but so are 99% of the Sushi restaurants in the Tampa area. Now they must be struggling and arent keeping things fresh. On my most recent trip, I had a really fishy raw appetizer. They served me smelt roe when I ordered flying fish roe. The nigiri scallops I ordered were mush. They had to have been re-frozen. Even the cooked surf clams were fishy. Im still hoping I dont get sick. The service was off as well. Very disappointing. Anyway, they clearly dont know how to manage their fish inventory. No need to risk eating here.

I think this maybbe my first Google restaurant review. Im not out to close the place down but please nobody order from here. Just did Uber eats, and the food was hands down some of the worst food Ive eaten. Beyond bland. Extreme waist of money and it was Not cheap. I had the Filet and Lobster Terrible and Im honestly not sure how you could mess up fillet and lobster tonight taste good. But they found away. Im not even going to go over everything else I ordered to try but lets just say nothing tasted well at all. Extremely extremely bland.

Tried the chicken and scallop hibachi, the honey salmon sushi appetizer and a sweet potato roll all were excellent. Beautiful little restaurant, even the bathroom was pretty. Very nice staff! They have only been open about a month but I hope are here to stay. I look forward to going back and getting to try more of the menu and next time I have to remember to save room for desert because other customers dishes and deserts looked amazing.

Had scallops, grilled calamari was extremely salty. Ambiance: music was listening to music that sounded like a carnival. Server did not know anything about food, never came back so I could express my concerns about the excessive salt in the food so the time he came back the night was over. The real complaint was that there were 4 people in the restaurant so as far as I was concerned no excuses.

Had hibachi chick and steak and Gyoza to go, as someone mentioned it was packed really nice. The Gyoza was awesome , tasted really fresh. The fried rice was really good NO CLUMPS. Chicken was tender as well as the steak. Veggies were ALL really fresh. Will try the Sushi next time.. glad I found this place.

The hibachi steak lunch was very good, salmon teriyaki bento box good except salmon was a little fishy. 3 roll with 2 piece nigiri the Godzilla roll was good and white tuna nigiri was ok but salmon and yellowtail roll was Fishy! Miso soup was good and real green tea. 45 bucks for lunch for 3 people.

Good food, good price, good atmosphere. Would make it 5 stars, but it bothers me when themed restaurants play pop music. Like, when I go to a mexican restaurant they place spanish music. When I go to a greek restaurant they play greek music. etc. This place just played american pop music.

Price was great, especially with your first online order being 20% off. Chicken was good, but rice was a bit bland. Probably healthier, but I think of hibachi, I think of sauce, salt, and well fried & seasoned rice. Def will go there again :)

Wonderful food! Gyoza was excellent as an appetizer. My wife ordered the Sunny roll and was very pleased. I ordered the hibachi chicken which was incredible! The meal came with some of the best fried rice Ive ever tasted!

Amazing beef yaki udon they give you proper cuts of beef that they should rename steak yaki udon. The server was very nice and was quick about refilling our drinks. Over all a great place to grab a bite and relax.

Advertised as a Japanese hibachi place but only seat you at regular tables. Food took foreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeever to come out. Five groups came after us and they all got their food before we did.

Ive made multiple trips to Shogun for lunch and dinner and I have never been disappointed. The food is always fresh, beautifully presented and not inundated with sauces.
