Im writing about the local Cantina in German Village. When they took the old Einstein Bagels location and brought local Cantina in to the Village it was an absolute hit. This locations interior design tables, bar, the exterior patio everything about walking into the door is an exciting, vibrant, young for the most part crowd. In describing the environment like i just did I wil guarantee there has never appeared to be any awkwardness or snooty class warfare in Local. Im so unsure if the bartenders that are there now are the ones that opened the restaurant but they sure do seem like at least a couple have been there since day 1. Sitting solo at the bar oh my God youre treated like a king or at least I believe I have been. The idea of going in with a group and putting your name on the chalkboard for a seat then getting the chips and Salsas and drinks while you hang out is expected and welcomed. Ive never ever experienced a bad or an awkward situation here. I am one that yes I like routine yes Im unhappy typically with change but this is the place that Im always drinking and eating different things and Im with different groups and the idea sitting out on the patio in decent weather is such a cool thing. To sit on High Street in that neighborhood location and enjoy that excitement creates in my mind a go -to destination. For the food to be as top-quality as I believe it is with fresh and interesting appeal surprises me at such affordable prices. The place is always packed as the crowd consistency yells come in to me. Definitely a hit in my world.

Gave one Starr because it would not let me give zero stars. Where do I begin, drinks Mango Margarita what a joke of a drink it came in a small glass with approximately two ounces of liquid with four ice cubes a slice of apple? and one black olive? The cost for this poor excuse of a Margarita $10.00!!! The waiter we had was slow, had no knowledge of the food he was serving. Our waiter did not check back with us to see if we liked what was served us. Our waiter never cleared of any dishes from our small table he allowed them to pile up, very unprofessional! Food, if thats what you would call it, was disgusting. Seven layer dip??? Was two layers of beers and cheese and had some chunks of hamburger in it? Fajitas both chicken and beef were mostly oily burnt vegetables. The chicken chimichanga was 90% refried beans. I suggest the owners of this place actually go to a Mexican resturant and eat mexican style food. I do not recommend this place.

First time Ive ever left a negative review, but when I tried to stop in here a waiter very rudely told me that there was a wait list but wouldnt tell me how to add my name to it or any kind of guess on wait time. I was really surprised by how rude he was and unfortunately my opinion of this place is scarred by this experience. There is no sign saying wait to be seated and no line of people waiting around for tables, so when in saw a bunch of empty tables and no host or host station, I started to seat myself. I suppose this offended the guy. Indo a lot of bar hopping and self seating is usually assumed unless theres a sign, when the place is a bar like this one. Very surprised! I dont know if I will give it another shot as there are lots of other good places around with excellent service. Sorry, Local Cantina. No Bueno.

Went for carryout could not get waited on. I was told the bar tender would get my food. She seemed to only wait on the young men at the bar. Finally a manager got my order. I was not impressed with our food. It was soggy and only warm. Im sure it would have been a little better had we dined in. Something about styrofoam and hot food that just doesnt work. Probably wont be back.

Tacos are individually priced and they are small so its a low Price-to-value. Unless you go on Tuesdays, in which all tacos are half price. Self serve chips and salsa is nice, when they refill the chips or put out clean bowls... and when its busy, good luck with that. Overpriced, loud, very close quarters seating. For me its just ok

Good food and a cool atmosphere. This place offers free self serve chips and Salsa, which is neat. I had the Taco Salad and it was top notch. Came loaded with Pico, guacamole, cheese, beans, lettuce, chicken (you pick the meat), salsa, sour cream and a Chipotle sauce, all served in an edible bowl.

Stopped by on a hot day with a puppy in tow. They very nicely said the puppy was not allowed on patio due to Columbus City restrictions but did set us up with water for the puppy outside the patio and set us up with a couple cold ones from their servicable craft beer menu. Super courteous staff!

Great beer selection, good cheap eats, consistently good service. Who doesnt love free unlimited chips and salsa? The constantly changing roster of craft beers keeps every visit interesting and the excellent specialty cocktails keep you feeling good. Try the spicy gimlet for a real treat.

Super disapointed with the service I just recieved. Sat at the end of the bar as it was the last spot and was completely ignored after I got my drink. I will not be going back to this location or reccomending it to anyone. Rather eat down the street at taco bell than there.

Just went to local cantina for the first time, food was really good and so was the service! I actually left behind my taco salad and called them about 5 minutes after I realized I left it. They made me a brand new taco salad! Thank you for the great service local cantina!!

This local cantina is much better than the one in clintonville. Great service, great food, and clean! (A stark contrast from clintonville local cantina). We enjoyed a filling delicious brunch. I will definitely be returning just for the atmosphere and the people!

Great brunch menu on Saturday and Sunday try the chorizo scramble, bourbon bacon pancakes, or the gravy train. Full bar for brunch, with a great selection of craft beers. Their tacos are amazing as well. Self server chips and salsa. Make sure to try their queso.

Food specials on Tuesday that I was so oblivious too...duh!!! Great atmosphere in addition to the free chips & salsa. The tacos are amazing, bursting with flavor, while I think they should serve 2 tortillas with every taco. Everything was fantastic.

Amazing tacos for a great price, plus unlimited chips and salsa. Their guac is as good as it gets (and this is coming from a guac fanatic, so you know I mean it). Small parking lot so plan ahead, service is great. Be wary, margs are strong!

Food was good and location is close enough to downtown without being right in the middle of it. This meant we didnt have to wait to get in. The big selling point for this place is self serve chips and salsa - what an awesome idea!

Good little lunch spot. I walk down there from work and grab a couple tacos. Theres always a decent crowd for lunch, but never too busy. They hook you up with free chips and salsa at the table which is always nice.
