This is a newer restaurant on the West side of town. There is also a El Pobre Mexican Restaurant in Canton. Trip Advisor has done a review and it is one of their recommended restaurants. The staff is very courteous and attentive. The food is good and to me that is always the most important part of any restaurant experience. Great sweet tea. Really good homemade salsa and chips that is served as soon as you sit. Overall a very pleasant experience. I will be returning for sure!

Im used to Louisiana and Texas Hispanic food and this place isnt much better than Taco Bell except the people were Hispanic. The food was bland and the rice and beans tasted like they came off a food service truck. Someone else mentioned their great beer selection but it isnt worth a hoot if it all comes out of a bottle and not fresh on tap. Dont waste your time keep on going

We have eaten here dozens of times and have always loved the food and the service, but recently we ate here and found bug parts in our chips and when we confronted the server he told us it was pepper pieces. Unfortunately, it had eyes. He didnt offer to bring us new chips or even try to make it right. We havent or wont be back to El Pobre

the chip boy is very disturbing. How old is this kid? he looks straight out of middle school. Is that even legal and the fact that he doesnt know english at that age is odd too shouldnt he be enrolled school.?Food was good overall but i didnt like the fact the chip boy is young and was flirting with my daughter

Quesadilla was okay. Chimichanga was not great.The chips and dip tasted very flat. The rice was awful. Tomatoes and lettuce did not taste fresh. Refried beans tasted okay. One of the waiters talked loudly to the customers about pirated movies. Was very annoying. All in all, this place is not worth a visit.

Great atmosphere, friendly staff and wonderful Mexican food. Salsa bar for those who want a little more heat in their salsa. Watch out for the habanero salsa....its not for the faint of heart. Daily specials, Senior Menu and Lunch Menu. Affordable prices for quality food.

I ordered carne azada and the rice had a weird taste, in general the food was bad. I even had stomach problems. I dont know if the name of the restaurant has to do with the quality of the food. Pobre means poor.

Salsa bar is great. Actual food not so good, beans and rice bland, served old corn tortillas that fell apart. If you need a quick fix go here otherwise maybe just go to the taco truck across town.

I have been to Bethel Location and am very please with new restaurant. Service was great and food was excellant. Highly recommend El Pobre. By far my favorite mexican food in Haywood county.
