Known to have a waiting list to dine, we were lucky, got in for lunch quickly. I can understand why it is so popular with locals and visitors alike. The staff if very friendly and interactive with the guests. The menu offers some great choices, and is reasonably priced. We chose the a la carte Tacos, and to say they were delicious, would be an understatement. I went with one of each of the following FISH - crispy mahi, tabasco lime sauce, citrus slaw, cilantro MOLE - oaxacan style braised chicken, pickled red onion, queso fresco, cilantro POLLO ROJO - braised chicken, smoky guajillo chili salsa, queso fresco, white onion, chipotle lime crema, cilantro So when you are in the OTR area of Cincinnati, give Bakersfield a try.

Ive been searching for a no nonsense Mexican restaurant, and I am satisfied with what Ive discovered at Bakersfield! They have a delicious variety of tacos to choose from, giving a person every reason to come back. I had a papas tostada and bistec taco along with a few cocktails. The seasoning of the potatoes were just right, the tenderness of the bistec made the meat melt in your mouth. The staff is so nice too! There was an inconvenient moment that caused us to wait longer than expected for our table, but the more than made up for it with their kindness and a complimentary app. Delish!

I give this place 2 stars because the service is bad. The staff is rude and very pushy. They get mad when you ask them how much longer till you get a table when its 25 MIN PAST your wait time. We waited so long and I wouldnt mind if they were just honest and not so rude about it! The waitress we had was nice but she was in such a hurry to get our order she barely looked at us and barely even spoke about the food. It was not a personal experience at all! However, the food was okay. It was good but not the best. I wouldnt really go out of my way to eat there.

Visited last night for the first time as a restaurant. I have been here before for the bar. Each time I go I seem more and more impressed. The menu was not too big, but who needs all the choices, as long as you have a quality selection. Which they did. Corn soft tocos are their specialty and I loved it. You got to pick out your toco combination because its all ala carte. I am not a western fan, but this place was hip with western movies on the monitors, and the staff was hip to serve us. And as a bonus, the staff was attractive ;-p

Friday night and every place was packed, I was on a bicycle, so parking was right in front, there was one open seat at the bar, so no waiting, the beer was cold and welcoming, I ordered the fish taco and the beef short rib taco, "Excellent" to say the least, my server was delightful, didnt get her name, but she was a Ryle High School grad, and the reason I know this, is because her use of the English language was so perfect, I had to ask where she attended school, Im please to see her education stuck with her...lol

Never again! What a bunch of pretentious jerks working there. They treated us like we didnt deserve to be there. Well, you dont deserve my money. Too bad for you that Im a big tipper. Ive worked in the service industry my whole life - and I would NEVER treat my worst enemy the way we were treated. By the way, this place always "appears" to be busy but thats because it only has 7 tables. And the wait staff cant even handle that. And of course, Ill tell everyone I know to steer clear.

Went at 7 pm on a Friday and had to wait 1.5 hours. But they take your phone number when you put your name in, and you get a text when youre up next for a table. You can also order food and drinks at the bar which is first come first serve. Its very small, and it was packed with people so it was very loud. They sit multiple parties at a table, if they didnt we would have waited 2.5 hours instead of 1.5. The tacos are delicious! About $4 per taco, but so worth it.

This place didnt really do it for me. My dad and I went right when they opened yesterday so we didnt have to fight the crowd. We ordered five different tacos and a salad to share. The Pork Belly Taco was probably the best, but for the most part they all didnt seem very flavorful and not very exciting. Also, the salad was mostly lettuce and very few of the veggies and other ingredients it claimed to have. I guess I just dont understand why this place is so popular...

Probably one of the best Mexican restaurants in Cincinnati. If you dont want to believe the reviews on here, this restaurant was so successful the owners made it into a chain and opened locations in other cities. Just because they expanded doesnt mean the quality has gone down (because it hasnt). Still has the best margaritas and queso in town, and the single taco orders allow you to order to your appetite.

The tacos here are authentic, fresh and very tasty. Ive been here twice; each time after the lunch rush and before the late night crowd and Ive never had to wait for a table. Appetizers and two tacos really filled me up. I had a Roebling beer which was perfect, along with the short rib tacos and queso dip. Ive had the guacamole and while okay, I thought it had too much citrus for my liking.

Hostess sat our party of 4 with another group of 3 loud college students at a bench style table, which we didnt like. Tacos are a little pricey. Had "Willie", a mexican style chicken salad, it was great. Staff is friendly and attentive. Music is somewhat loud, and consists of classic rock and country hits. Overall I had a great experience and would definitely return.

Believe the hype! These are great tacos, try the short rib tacos and you will agree. This is the prefect place to meet up with friends but maybe not a first date (it can great a little loud). The only real complaint is the wait but they will take down your phone number so that you can go outside and explore OTR or head to one of the other bars in the area for a pint.

Took my family of four there on a Thursday evening. Place was not too busy and we were seated right away. Five minutes go by, we had not yet been visited by our waitress. 10 minutes, still no waitress, no drink order, no acknowledgement whatsoever that we were even there. We gave it another 5 minutes, but even then - nothing. Left and will never go back.
