To me this place use to be a lot better, to add cheese to your taco its .29 cents to me tacos should just come with cheese. I was more excited to take my husband here today because me and my mom use to eat here. Sadly I was disappointed, the food was still good none the less but I think its overly priced now and not as good of a place to eat. They had "Sia" playing on the speakers low because of the game I miss the Spanish environment and good prices for great food. The waitress wasnt awful but I wasnt overly impressed either. Im disappointed in the amount of changes its been through I think its new owners or something because it just wasnt the same. Sadly I wont be going back because it has changed so much it took a bit of good memories and kind of soiled them when I tried to make them with my own family.

I ate here yesterday evening for the first time. The restaurant is close to a public parking lot which is a short walk away. Once you walk in, you see the kitchen, and the seating area. It may look small upon first glance, but there is more seating in a separate room. The service was friendly and helpful. The options for food are vast, with protein options catering to both the brave-at-heart (veal brains, beef tongue) and the lesser-so (al pastor, steak, chicken). They even offer unique vegetarian options, like huitlacoche! All of the food my boyfriend and I ate was extremely tasty. We made sure to stop at the small market next door afterwards to buy some Mexican goods and a tres leches to take home!

My favorite place in Cincinnati to get authentic tacos. They are just as good as Taqueria Mercado tacos. My favorites are the pastor, birria, and carnitas. Although their other items are not exceptional, Ive always left satisfied considering their prices. Dont go there expecting a big restaurant with a huge staff, dozens of "combo items" illustrated on the menu with idiot-proof photos and gringo-friendly alternatives like chicken fingers and buffalo quesadillas. Do go there expecting to satisfy your craving for affordable delicious Mexican food thats convenient and unpretentious.

This place was recommended by a friend of mine in Cincinnati. This was by far some of the most authentic Mexican Food Ive had in the states! There service was a little slow, with not having that many guests seated at the time, but the food arrived promptly. We also were unaware we paid at the front counter. We waited awhile to receive a check at the table before we walked down to the cashier. It looks like the restaurant also doubles as a small neighborhood market. It was not to pricey either with great portion sizes.

I had high expectations from hearing how amazing this place was though for me the only good experience was the food. My server (Liz) wasnt very attentive in ways listed below...note restaurant was 20% occupied. -Wasnt given utensils (had to ask) -Also had to ask for straws -Water was asked for 3 times before given -Sauces that were brought to my table were empty containers -Frozen margarita was bland My review over all is being kind with thoughts of maybe this was a bad day for my server.

The best Mexican food Ive had in the U.S. The atmoshphere is understated and it feels a bit dingy, but dont let that scare you off.. You wont care about the lack of frills and decor once you have your food. The house-made tortilla chips are thick, hearty, and perfect. The Flag Burrito features two sauces including their red enchilada sauce, which is a huge kick in the mouth. I highly recommend it.

Ate there for the first time yesterday. It was absolutely amazing! Probably the best Mexican food Ive had in NKY. Authentic homemade options like tacos, burritos, tamales, etc. Very fresh, flavorful and delicious. Service was quick and friendly. Affordable prices and small place but generous portions. Even the free chips & salsa were terrific. I would strongly recommend La Mexicana!

La Mexicana is our favorite lunch place in the area. The staff is super friendly, service is fast, and the food is amazing. It has many options for vegetarians and meat eaters alike. The quesadillas and tacos are our favorites, but we havent been disappointed by anything. My favorite dish is the flor de calabaza quesadilla. Cant recommend this place enough!

Awesome tacos and nice atmosphere! I had tacos al pastor and they were delicious! Best place in Northern KY to get tacos that Ive found! My daughter had a torta and she said it was very good. My husband had tacos de lengua, cesos, and asada. Salsa was excellent with a nice kick to it too. Definitely a great place to eat!

Amazing, authentic Mexican food. Great chips and salsa. There are a TON of Mexican restaurants and they are all the same. This is the first Mexican restaurant that offers something different and original. I have brought many of my friends and coworkers to La Mexicana and they all LOVE it. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!

Honestly used to love this place, it used to be my favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. But the last few times Ive went has been beyond disappointing. Beans and rice are constantly burnt, food has no flavor, margaritas taste like dirty water. I hope the new owners make drastic changes soon

Authentic Mexican food at a good price. The connected grocery is also a to rated butcher shop in the area. Ive not had a bad experience and have been over a dozen times. Tuesdays are $2 tacos, $3 Reingeist, $3 tequila shots. Theres, honestly, no better place for real Mexican in the area.

Holy cow this food is AMAZING! Service can be a little slow but the food more than makes up for it. Ive been looking for an authentic, delicious Mexican restaurant for the past 3 years since I moved here from southern California and this place is IT. Do yourself a favor and eat here

Unassuming storefront, but dont be fooled! The food is on point! Homemade chips and salsa, PERFECT guacamole, affordable prices and enough variation on the menu to please everyone. My only complaint is that I have an hour to drive to return!

Great restaurant, definitely one of the hidden gems in Newport. Amazingly authentic Mexican food. Tacos are hard to beat at 2.75 a taco and the flag burrito was amazing. New favorite Mexican restaurant in the tri-state.

Hands down the best Mexican restaurant in the region. Everything is scratch made and the grocery store is worth a stop, too. Service can be a little on the slow side, but not so much that it hurts the experience.
