El Charro Mexican Grill offers authentic Mexican food at a reasonable price with a side of horrendous service. I had an experience so frustrating I decided the rude staff wasnt worth going anymore. I placed a takeout order and when I arrived it was already sitting at the front desk (usually they go get it after I pay) I thought nothing of it, paid and left. When I get back and unwrap it, it’s clearly not my order inside; not even close. I immediately call to try and understand how this simple order (Lunch Special #3) was mistaken. She offers no explanation and I tell her I’ll be right back to get my correct order and if she could start it now (I only have a 30 minute lunch break so time is of the essence). When I arrive she takes the wrong order, gives it to someone THEN orders what I had been looking for without a word to me. Absolutely no remorse or apology for her screw up that cost me my lunch. I finally get back and unwrap the order to find thrown together food all over in the bag. Half the incorrect order was in the bag with what I kind of ordered (I asked for a burrito and got an enchilada instead. Thank goodness I love both), but not before noticing the final nail in the coffin of never going back: this very disgusting used plastic fork. You can’t be serious, El Charro. Mistakes happen and I get that, but to make me feel like the bad guy for standing up for my terrible order was totally unacceptable. Then on top of that, to offer no explanation, money back, coupon, an apology or ANYTHING to keep me as a customer was obvious that you clearly couldnt care less about the quality of service you give.

We eat a lot of Mexican food in Colorado but never thought we would find our most favorite Mexican restaurant in upstate New York. Wow! The seafood entrees are so well flavored and beautifully presented with a great variety to choose from. Tonight I had a grilled vegetable burrito - prepared especially with a corn tortilla (avoiding gluten) - fresh veggies, so delicious! We indulged on a second basket of chips because we love the salsa and warmed crisp chips. House margaritas on the rocks with salt are flavorful, satisfying, and just strong enough. Do I sound over the top about this restaurant? Yes! Because it is a taste of home for us, and I want to visit next time we return to Schenectady. btw, Brittany was our waitress for both visits and she is welcoming and wonderful!

I really enjoyed my dinner! I ordered a Quesadilla and asked if they had Mole, a (Mexican chocolate sauce). The sauce was available and it was delicious. Hopefully, they will add it to the menu so everyone can try it. The drink and food prices are very good! I was pleased with the customer service and the restaurant is also very clean. The staff is very polite and very attentive. The staff returned to the table for follow up many times, which was refreshing from other places where I never see the waiter after my food arrives. I will definitely return again and again!

I dont have a problem with the staff itself There is one employee He has short hair/ shaved head, and a beard. He is usually at the front of the store by the register. He has on multiple occasions acted in an extremely inappropriate manner toward my girlfriend. Specifically going out of his way to make phisical contact with her against her will Hes also constantly giving her this creepy smile and the one time i went with her he glared at me I think disciplinary actions should be taken and if it happens again i will be making a formal complaint to the manager

BEST MEXICAN FOOD IVE EVER HAD! Authentic, fresh, friendly wait staff. And not to mention how much food comes for cheap! I leave soooo full with half my dinner in a to-go container! If you want a ridiculous amount of delectable food for cheap; get the "Grande Especial". A chalupa( fried corn shell with stuff on top), regular taco, enchilada, burrito, and a Chile relleno( sweet green pepper stuffed with a rich cheese) with rice AND beans for $10.79!!!!!!

Horrible. Horrible. The reviews below me must be paid. They use mozzarella cheese (not used in Mexican), tomato sauce as enchilada sauce, and use Kraft american cheese in their quesadillas which makes them taste like grilled cheese. Everything is completely tasteless and probably warmed up in a microwave. Sickening. Everything is very low quality and just awful. Avoid this place. Its probably owned by the same people who own Casa Real in Rotterdam.

A fine restaurant to stop for a bite to eat. The enormous margaritas are nothing to write home about. I couldnt taste any of the tequila in mine, only sour mix. Perhaps if you buy one of the upgraded margaritas it comes with a better ratio. The food was good, but not great. The sauces were all fairly bland, and the beef wasnt spiced very much at all. As far as Mexican food and bars go in the area, Id pick somewhere else with more flavor first.

What a great place. The restaurant is beautiful. Great colors and very clean. I simply enjoy their vegetarian Mexican menu. I had a vegetarian meal that consisted of three tamales stuffed with a tasty potato stuffing. WOW! VERY ADDICTIVE. Lunch prices are Walmart prices. Didnt have to wait long for a table. I have to copliment the decor. Music is lively and the Mexican drinks are fantastic. Cant wait to have dinner at El Charro Mexican Grill.

Great Place! Fast kitchen wonderful food everyone loved their meals (four people) two of which were platters with an assortment of various dishes everything was out of this world. If there was any complaint it might be that the nachos were so-so. Large servings plated beautifully. Wait staff was incredible and friendly! If your in the area with a taste for Mexican El Charro Mexican Grill is a MUST!

I feel bad for people in the Albany area that cant tell the difference between MEXICAN food and microwaved messinacanfood. My waiter did not speak enough English to tell me what the special of the day was. If your only experience with Mexican food is Taco Bell, then this place is for you. MAYA CAFE in Fishkill,NY....you will know real food when they get done with you. REALTALK!!

My meal was fantastic. Service was Questionable. Once they served me it was like they forgot me. Waiter didnt ask if I wanted more to drink when my glass was empty and I sat for over 20 mins to get my bill. This was at 430pm. Was not even busy. Im only rating this low because of the service. So if you go take a lazer pointer so you can get you waiter or waitress attention!!

Service is excellent. Entire staff is friendly and welcoming. While the restaurant is on the smaller side, it doesnt feel cramped. There are great happy hour specials before 5:00. While the presentation of the food is not always the best, the food is tasty and has yet to disappoint. We have had an overall wonderful experience each of the handful of times we have gone.

Hands down the most amazing (and purely authentic) Mexican food I have ever had. The cheese dip left me speechless. And then the tacos al pastor...never had such a delicious taco in my entire life. Will be returning frequently and telling alllll my friends about it as well!
