This place is disgusting. Went there with my family from out of town on a busy Saturday night. It took us all of and hour and a half to get served (after waiting 45 minutes for a table)with not a single drink refill offered during this wait. We had a single bowl of stale chips and some mediocre thrown together salsa to occupy us during this time. All of our meals were were served cold and the beef from my fajitas was only gristle. All of the lettuce on our side-plates were wilted and brown. The tomatoes were an unripe yellowish color. The tortillas were stale and hard... and I kid you not, the guacamole was brown. They shouldnt have even bothered giving us a server as the server did absolutely nothing for us save for the one round of refills we had to beg for. We asked for a manager who would not even show up. On the way out, we tried to share our feedback with the attendant at the front desk, whom only smirked at us and told us they are very busy and that there were customers waiting. We felt like he thought us to be some sort of hindrance to his evening by merely talking to him. No apology offered. No respect. Nothing. Afterwards, everyone felt kinda sick and one of us actually threw up. I am embarrassed to have recommended this place as a possibility and I feel awful that my 85 year old veteran grandfather was put through such a mess. I would strongly urge anyone considering eating here to choose one of the many better Mexican options in Lexington such as Marias or El Gran Taco. This place is the epitome of a terrible dining experience and they clearly do not care one bit.

Cinco De Mayo truly screwed us over and will NEVER receive our service again. A month prior to this date, we made a reservation for Friday May 5th (yes we know this is Cinco De Mayo) we also understand many places wont take reservations, but they allowed us to and we were overjoyed. Not only were we going to celebrate "Cinco De Mayo" but have a surprise party for our friend turning 21. They booked us "so we thought" and all was perfect! We called today to confirm and arrange plans for the night, and they had fired the man who took our reservation and told us we no longer had one because he didnt work there. They were beyond rude, hung up, said horribly offensive things, and had the WORSE customer service ever. This place is run by ignorant, clearly poorly educated, awful people. The food has never been that "great" just mediocre, but because of the awful people who almost ruined our plans for our friend and 15 others attending the dinner, we will never step foot near the establishment again. DONT EVER TRY TO PLACE A RESERVATION HERE, and whoever is the "new" manager, you need to be educated on customer service. His exact words: "We dont need a reservation for 15 people, we have plenty of people who will be coming." Good luck with your new job, Im sure it wont last long so youll need it.

Cinco De Mayo has the best Mexican food in lexington and by far the worst service of any restaurant I have ever been to. Ive been numerous times and received terrible service but tonight was especially awful as it took 50 minutes to receive our food, our order came out incorrect, the server didnt check on us after brining out the corrected food, a manager never stopped by, and After eating our food and stacking all of our plates at the end of the table, getting up and getting our own to go box, we still hadnt seen our server so we got up and went to the kitchen to ask someone to find a server to print our check and it still took more than 5 minutes to get our check so we could leave.

FINALLY! Authentic delicious Mexican food in Lexington! I havent been in KY long, but Ive searched for a good Mexican place since arriving. Dont expect to be spoiled by your service, but if you are searching for REAL Mexican food, you will not be disappointed at Cinco de Mayo. The atmosphere is comfortable and the place is very big, so you probably wont have to wait very long for a place to sit. ¡La razón para visitar es la comida auténtica! ¡A mi me gusta muchísima! They have a spinach enchilada that is so yummy, but not on the healthy side - dont let the spinach part fool you. Go here for the food.

Tutto molto approssimativo, tempi di attesa lunghi, abbiamo aspettato circa unora per ricevere le portate nonostante il locale fosse quasi vuoto. La qualità del cibo era comunque buona ma il prezzo decisamente alto. Locale spoglio e poco caratteristico.

Absolutely horrible... we walked in and sat at the bar... someone brought a guy food and then left and then another person came and went behind bar and then walked out..... no one every spoke to us. We got up went to the front and 4 people were waiting to pay and no one there .... we LEFT!!!! Unreal!!!! I will NEVER go back! I wouldnt even give it 1 star but I had to to be able to write a review!

Server was not great or responsive to issues. Order was not entirely right (had sour cream dobbed on top when ordered without). I was ignored when it was mentioned to server. The part of my food that wasnt covered in sour cream was good. Would have been a much more enjoyable dining experience of the server had been more attentive and responsive to issues.

Hair in food. Didnt want to make an issue out of it, so I asked my waiter if I could have it remade. Another staff member comes over and rudely tells me just so you know that wasnt my hair in your food. Our waiter apologized to us for the other exmployees remarks. Ended up leaving and being refunded for my portion of the check. Will never be back.

First of all, Randy Robinson is a lame, hipster putz who hates on every place he reviews. What a sad little man he is. This is a very typical Tex-Mex spot. Nothing special, but just a solid place for tasty food, friendly staff and convenient location for students and downtown folks. Recommended. Prices are very reasonable, drinks are good.

I really enjoy eating here, but the overall experience is very hit or miss. Sometimes the food is awesome and others it is average. Sometimes I am seated as soon as I walk in the door and others I am standing for 10 minutes in a nearly empty room while employees walk past me.

Worst mexican food ever. I had the fish tacos and my wife had the shrimp. The fish was cold and the the shrimp was old and chewy. When we complained, we were not offered another dish, or no charge, just 20% off the meal we could not eat. Dont make our mistake...stay away!

After having several birthday dinners here its safe for me to say the service is terrible. One server for a table of 10+. Gave out tequila shots for one birthday then charged people without saying they were going to do so. Food is pretty bad too.

Classic Mexican restaurant. Went for the first time with my fiance and loved the chips and salsa (better than average!), and shared fajitas for 1. If youre not gonna split a meal its a little pricey tho.
