I should preface this by saying my wife and I have not been to a Green Mill before. Base on our experience I dont think we will be returning. We ordered our drinks and a short time later we ordered an appetizer and our entrees. While waiting for our food to be delivered I had a clear view of the the food sitting under the heat lamps. I noticed a pair of dishes which looked a lot like our food sitting there. These two dishes were even pushed aside so that other servers could get to dishes behind these two. My suspicions were confirmed when a server other than ours picked up those two dishes that had now been sitting under the heat lamp for somewhere between 5-10 minutes and brought them to our table. The food was slightly warmer than room temp, the burger my wife ordered was over cooked, and did not have the ranch she had requested. The fries that came with our meals were luke warm, to be expected for fries sitting for so long. Oh but the appetizer, we still hadnt seen it or our server for some time. A few seconds after our food arrived, our server appeared saying she didnt know where our appetizer was. Because we had our entrees, I cancelled the appetizer. Not less than a minute later our server returns with the missing appetizer. No apologies were made. Sadly the appetizer though late was still better than either of our entrees.

Horrible experience on April 29, 2017. The restaurant was about 10% full. Ordered what was supposed to be the best pizza on the menu with the best crust option as recommended by the waitress. Waited 30 minutes for the pizza and it came burnt, and missing two of the four types of toppings. They ordered to make is a new one and have it taken off or bill. The new one came out even worse, but with the all the toppings at least. One of the plates came dirty with a dirty fork. In total we were there for and hour and twenty minutes, did not receive any refills on our drinks, saw our server when we ordered, when we got the food and when we sent back the food. I definitely wouldnt recommend this place unless your going to sit at the bar and drink, because thats where the servers hung out. Ive posted some photos of the pizza and dirty cutlery and plate.

I recently went to this restaurant and had very poor service. I tipped a waiter 10% even though the service was not worth it. Later I looked at my bank statement and found that the waiter had added an additional $5 to my $20 bill giving himself a $7 tip. I went back to restaurant to discuss this with a manager and was initially told "maybe he was just mad at you". They had a copy of the receipt and it was clear that the waiter had crossed out my tip and wrote his own. I then decided to call the district office and was told this waiter, Patrick, would be fired that week. I went back to the restaurant a month later and was displeased to find that Patrick is still employed at the establishment. I displeased with Green Mills decision and the integrity of the business which is too bad since I enjoy their food.

I am from out of town, and I usually love this restaurant. I ordered the margarita pizza like I always do. They should call it a garlic pizza. It was ridiculous. There were actually whole garlic cloves on my pizza. I could only eat a few slices (and I was super hungry). I scraped off over a tablespoon of poorly chopped garlic from each piece, and I only got about half of the garlic off (the rest was baked into the crust or cheese). I like garlic, but this was practically inedible. This is the second time this has happened to me from this restaurant. The first time, I complained and they remade the pizza for me. However, this time I wasnt eating in the restaurant. I picked it up at closing time. I doubt Ill be back.

We decided to attend the Green Mill for the Mothers Day buffet. When you got there we were turned away because we didnt have reservations (we had no idea we needed to call ahead). We were told to come back in "3 hours". There were plenty of open tables and nobody in line with us. I then, went to my vehicle and called for a reservation for 4 to which he replied, "5 minutes for the table". I lost it! They turned around paying customers when it only took a simple phone call. I should taken my phone out and call right in front the 2 working after being turned away.. There is a reason why its never busy..and the one time it is, they send people away.

we were pleasently surprised by this restaurant. We are not from Grand Forks and went here on a whim. The wait staff is young and under experienced but the food was oustanding. We started with the pizza rolls and were licking our fingers. The bread basket was good with herbed butter for a spread. My salad was blah but my husband loved his Beef Barley soup. I had the Thai Beef skewers and my husband had the Alfredo with vegetables. Both dishes were divine. The skewers were oustanding, some of the best beef I have had in a while. The noodles were completely oversauced, but it was good and the vegetables were crisp. The alfredo was herbacious and rich.

I am a big fan of the Green Mill locations in the Twin Cities. This location is mediocre at best. I went on a Friday evening, and the restaurant was only about 3/4 full. You would think they would be well staffed on a Friday night, but somehow the service was slow. Our waitress was rather inattentive. Im not sure where she was the whole time, but she wasnt waiting on many other tables. Food came out slow. Blame was placed on a backup in the kitchen. How a kitchen can be backed up on a Friday evening with a dining room that isnt full is beyond me.

My family and I ate here for the first time. We were seated right away but took 10 minutes just to get our drink orders and by then we were ready to order food. The waitress didnt seem to know anything about the menu. We ended up getting our food before our drinks and were still missing some of our food items. She didnt evem notice we didnt have drinks until I mentioned it. Service was horrible but the food was decent. Im pretty sure we will not return.

The service was mediocre at best. Our waiter was not fast at coming to our table, then another waiter came over and told us our waitress had quit on the spot and apologized. We informed them our server was a male. Then, to top it off, when my wife got to the bottom of her coffee, there were two lemon seeds stuck to the bottom of the cup. Just gross. The manager took care of the bill, but what do you say to that. "See ya next week?" NOT!!!

We have eaten here twice in the past ten months. The service has been slow both times, even though the restaurant was not busy. The staff is friendly, but inattentive. The food is okay but unremarkable. The appetizers must be intended to serve one, perhaps two people because the portions are too small for more. I think we will go elsewhere in the future.
