Came in with a party of 7 and was seated within 5 minutes. The chips before dinner were so stale that we asked for a fresher basket - again stale. Food came out rather quickly, and it was good. After eating the waitress quickly grabbed some boxes for us while we were still drinking our beers, and waitress asks if thatll be all. She brings check, we pay, and stay to chat and finish our beers. Waitress did not mention gratuity was added to the check, which I believe should be mentioned. 10 minutes later after wed been chatting and finishing the last of our drinks, the waitress comes by and asks how long were staying because there are people waiting. This is the first time Ive ever been rushed out of a restaurant. We were actually thinking about staying and having a few more drinks but after that comment we left immediately. Waitress didnt seem to care because the tip was already forced. As we were walking out we saw another table that would fit 8 completely empty, and 2-4 people waiting for a table. The manager was at the entrance so I expressed my irritation. Manager apologized but you could tell he didnt care. There are much better places in Charlotte to meet with friends, eat/drink, and chat without feeling rushed out. Never eating here again.

The food was OK, but it really did not live up to expectations (this place being rated as one of the top casual restaurants in Charlotte and all). I got a combination taco plate with (I think) one BBQ mahi-mahi taco and one specialty tuna. The BBQ was not what I was expecting -- the BBQ sauce overpowered everything, and I couldnt taste the fish. The tuna (it had some sort of wasabi sauce drizzled on it) was better. Free chips and salsa is nice, but they have to be fresh to be good (several stale ones in the mix), and the salsa is corn salsa which I didnt really like too much. Overall, decent, but probably not worth $10 for specialty tacos that arent well thought out. The novelty wears off after the first bite of the BBQ mahi-mahi.

I have to admit I used to be a regular at Cabo. I worked right across the street and somehow still couldnt get enough of the TAVARUA Tuna Tacos, and the cactus salad. But in the last 2 visits I have been drastically disappointed. The cactus salad has become a blackbean salsa with 2 or 3 pieces of cactus when it used to be a bowl of cactus with a few things stuck in it for accent flavors. The TAVARUA were greasy and covered in the honey wasabi sauce. I dont mean topped, I mean covered to the point that I only ate one bite and my entire palate was swamped with wasabi. Couldnt taste anything else for almost 2 days. The service is still good but the food quality is really really lacking compared to this time last year.

Great place for some socal tacos - Im talking amazing seafood stuffed handhelds with tasty and kind of weird salsa accompaniments. Ive had the lemon ahi tuna, the blackened grouper, and easily my favorite so far the fried scallop tacos (second two were daily specials)! The wait staff is always friendly, service is usually pretty speedy once youre seated, and again the food is kickin. My only complaints about this place are: if you arrive at the wrong time you could be waiting to get seated for quite some time, so best to avoid typical meal rush hours. Also, and this is so silly, but I dont love the corn salsa with corn chips that come complimentary to the table. Definitely splurge and order some queso for your chips!

We went to dinner at 7:30 on a wednesday night. even though it was busy, we got right in. chips were extremely stale, but they were free. it was SO loud you had to practically yell to talk to the person across from you. service was decent, orders were almost accurate, did take a while for the food to come out. I did like my beer battered fish tacos, but the black beans and rice left a lot to be desired..no flavor at all! the other 5 people in my party had mixed reviews. One thought their tacos were okay, another thought blah, another said edible, another said she didnt care for hers and the other didnt eat them. Overall I wouldnt go back there. I can make better tacos and waaay better rice and beans at home. :/

Stopped here for the first time a couple of months ago. Service was solid and the food was ok. The reason for my review is something more interesting. When I told someone that I had dined here, they responded by asking whether I had paid with a credit card? When I asked why, they responded by telling me that this restaurant has a reputation of peoples card numbers being stolen. So here I am 2 months later on the phone with my bank as for the first time in my life, my credit card information has been stolen as someone hit me today for a $400 cash advance in Alabama. There is no proof that it was because of this restaurant but just found it ironic. I would recommend paying cash just to be on the safe side.

Couldnt wait to go there. The wait was about 10 minutes so we sat at the bar. The bartender was great and suggested good drinks to start. It went downhill from there. I was disappointed in the salsa. The bowl was tiny so when you scooped (or tried ) to put it on your chip it went onto the table. The waiter was totally unaccommodating. I asked for menu suggestions and he said "We are the most popular restaurant in Charlotte, we typically have a 3 hour wait, there is no way I could tell you what the best selections are." Okey Dokey, The food was unremarkable. Ill go to Pure Taqueria next time! Just moved here from Atlanta and was thrilled to see that Pure is here.

Is Cabo under new ownership since expanding? Ive eaten there twice in the past two weeks and have not cared for the food at all. And I had TACOS. How do you screw tacos up when its in your NAME?? I had the blackened mahi tacos last night and literally had to take the fish off one taco and add it to the other taco. Service has been hit or miss, the waitress we had last night could have cared less if we were even in the building not to mention when she brought my receipt she flopped the receipt book on the corner of the table opposite of me ( I handed her my card prior to that). NOT HAPPY with the direction one of my favorite restaurants is headed...

The tortilla & salsa they serve is different. Id have to say tortillas a bit thick & salsa dry. Appetizer we ordered some kind of roll. Flavor was there....but a bit soggy. I ordered the white fish & soy sauce salmon tacos. Love the soy but the white fish was too hard from over cooking in the fryer. My husbands pasta was awesome! But its a pasta you dont want to over indulge. It made us parched....but it was good we kept on eating. My kids didnt like their meals though. The chicken quesadillas weee a bit spicy for them & dry. Over all...Atmosphere is very mellow, food was good & everyone seems to enjoy it. I think thats all that matters.
