Sitara India is one of those rare finds that make you happy there are still local restaurants, making delicious food. This is seriously one of my favorite restaurants. And not just Indian food, but my favorite of any kind, bar none! It makes my mouth water just thinking about the Chicken Tikka Masala, one of my all-time favorites. This dish is one of those perfections that make you want to lick the bowl. But dont do it, because taking some home and eating it the next day is a rare treat. Its like a three-day weekend! This may sound untrue, but I could eat this dish every day and die happy. Absolutely delicious! I order it on the mild side, but all levels of spicy-ness are wonderful. It is pleasure to peek into the kitchen and see this family cooking. If you havent tried Sitara India in Layton, you are missing an opportunity to put a smile on your face through delicious food. Enjoy! Chances are, youll see me and my family there, again and again.

We were very impressed with this place! They have really great customer service and really great food. We ordered delivery, but when we got our food we opened the bag to find that the rice had been forgotten. We called and they said theyd bring it asap. Soon after that call they arrived with not only the rice, but a $2 refund, a 20% off coupon for next time, and another side of naan! We will definitely return here! We got the chicken tikka masala with rice, naan, their vegetable samosas, and cheese pakora. Everything was great! Thank you Sitara!

This used to be my favorite place in Ogden. They had the best Indian food in Utah. It was the best I have found anywhere in the states. Then they closed and moved to Layton and we only ventured over there occasionally. They are back! I spent some time overseas eating Indian every day. It took me awhile to find a place as good as I remembered. No place was as good as it was in Oman. Then I found this place and I loved it. It was also priced right. The Biryani is perfect. Come for the lunch buffet.

This is hands down the best Indian food anywhere in the state. In the interest of full disclosure, do not come here if you are in a hurry to wait. Even when the restaurant is empty, you will have a 30-45 minute wait for food. They do not cook anything until it is ordered. That said every mintue of the wait is worth it. It all goes back to the old adage, you can have good food fast, fast food cheap, or good food cheap. This falls under the great food cheap(ish).

Just moved here from Austin, TX, so weve tried a couple places in town, and this one is good. The food is tasty. Their ceanliness is not the best, which for me, is the difference between 4 stars and 3. Service is average, but the buffet is lacking, and not well tended. So... it will fill your tummy to satisfaction for a casual night with a good friend or spouse, but I would choose something else if you need a nice atmosphere or are looking to impress.

Decent food. However the advertise that they deliver within ten miles of their location and have delivered to my adress before. Called in today and was ready to have a delivery order and they said they werent sure if they delivered. The girl on the phone didnt bother to ask how far away I live before telling me she couldnt deliver. DONT ADVERTISE DELIVERY IF YOU ARENT DELIVERING TO LOCATIONS YOUR WEBSITE SAYS YOU DEILVER TO. DISSAPOINTING SERVICE.

Hands down the best Indian food Ive tried in UT, and Ive tasted from most of the restaurants here. We got the lamb biriyani and a butter chicken and they were amazingly spiced. For once, medium spice meant medium spice. Friends we were with got Chicken 65, Gobi Manchurian and a shrimp dish, and again everything was right on the money. Absolutely loved it. We dont live in the area but will probably drive up to Layton just for the food.

Love love love the food here! Its the best Indian aside Bombay house in salt lake. The only issue youll run into is the service is slow. I personally think the food is worth the wait, but youll need to get it to go if you dont have enough time, our plan a good hour or so if you want to sit down and eat. They do offer a lunch buffet, but I havent experienced that, so I dont have an opinion in the that area.

This place has the best Tikka Masala Ive had, anywhere. However, its also got some of the slowest service - even slower, it seems, if the owner(?) is there sending back dishes and messing up the queue for everyone. Unless youre grabbing the lunch buffet, tack on 20 minutes to your estimate of how long it will take you to get out of there. But if a little wait doesnt bother you, the food is worth it.

Good price for a decent lunch buffet. ENDLESS NAAN. That alone is probably worth the $8, haha I wish there were more vegetarian options in the buffet. Labels over the food items would also be nice (along with an English description for those not familiar with Indian cuisine). Atmosphere feels more like a fast food joint than an Indian restaurant. Not bad for the price, though.

This is the absolute best Indian food money can buy! And, the best part....? NO ONE has heard of it. You can walk in and be seated instantly. Get the mild chicken tikka masala with extra naan and basmati rice and a mango lassi. You will not be disappointed. This is probably my favorite eatery out of any place in Utah (And, I go out to eat quite a bit).

Reall poor , bad experience, bad service, and the soup, I ordered a soup and it came with a lot of oil on the top so disgusting I couldnt even look it , the Chicken Teka Massal was horrible.. they dont even how to cook India food. Even the employee look so bad , nasty , the place is bad to eat there , trust me the Mexican food next to it is much better.

Ive been coming here for years. Isabella, the cook, is amazing! Shes so sweet and kind and her food is the best! Very well spiced and made to order. Ive tried all the Indian joints in the area and Sitara is hands down the best. My favorite is the chicken makani. But the butter chicken, coconut curry, tikka masala, and so many more are also fabulous!

I give it 5 stars for flavor alone. This isnt a fine dining place, but the food is more delicious than other finer dining Indian food options in Utah. The owners are kind and love their loyal customers. The buffet always has a ton of options for vegetarians and lamb for those who are like that as well. Do yourself a favor and try it once and see.

I have been there twice in the last 4 days because it was so good. The value is 10/10 and the taste of the food is a solid 9/10. I did experience a long wait on a Saturday because it seemed understaffed (30 min from order) but in a weekday it was a very reasonable 15 min. I will be coming here often because its a little hidden gem.
