I am usually not one to complain, but I have been a server for several years and this is the most poorly managed and ran restaurant I have been to in a very long time. My terrible experience started when we showed up. We were told on the phone that we could put our name on the list that way when we got there the wait would not be as long. Come to find out, the almost 2 hour wait did not begin until we got there. So calling ahead did nothing. Dont advertise that you can " get on the list before you get here" if that is not true. So after waiting two hours, our table is finally ready. We are sat and our drink orders were taken. Our server brought back our drinks in the childs cup. He told us that they were busy and that they ran out of adult cups. Thats fine, but we were charged for adult beverages. I thought that after a few regular sized cups were available we would get our drinks switched over to the adult cups. Not so. After almost an hour, our food comes out. The food was just "okay". Definitely not worth the extremely expensive price tag. WAY TOO PRICEY FOR THE QUALITY. Being a server at a chain restaurant, I understand being slammed and stretched in a million directions. But what pissed me off the most is that while everyone at my table (10 top) was without drinks while we had our food, the host(s) were just standing around twiddling their thumbs. It doesnt matter if your job title is not "server". When your restaurant is that busy and there are GUESTS that are clearly being neglected because the server is also the bartender, you step in to make sure they are taken care of. I know that my manager busts her ass to pick up slack to make sure our guests are taken care of when everyone else is busy. And I am now sitting here with a stomach ache because the food was such poor quality. Once again, I dont mean to talk down on the employees at this locations, I know how tough it is to be a server sometimes, but I expect more when the bill comes close to 150$ for 6 people, one of them being a child. I felt like walking out without paying and I have NEVER agreed with that. But like I said, this is the worst experience at a restaurant I have ever had. I wish I would have read the google reviews before we spent 150$ for something I could have made at home for a fraction of the price. I also went to the bathroom about halfway through the visit to find that the floors were so nasty and sticky. I can understand that in a mens room, but a womens room? Come on. Thats gross. My father said the mens room was equally as nasty it not worse and was as dirty as a gas station bathroom. Not acceptable. Of that is any indication to the cleanliness of the kitchen etc

Crazy Crab at Harbor Town, Sea Pines. The Crazy Crab is a Hilton Head institution, and if you arrive later in the evening expecting to get a table, you will be institutionalized before your wait is over. It is not uncommon to wait more than two hours for a table during the season, June through August. We always visit the Harbor Town location, because after dinner we walk over to the old Oak tree to enjoy Greg Russell. We get there early around 5PM and usually are able to get a table for nine in relative short time, 20 min. The staff is friendly and efficient. No matter how my family of nine, try to confuse the waitress, they always have gotten it right or made it right before our table have a chance to complain. For that alone they deserve their included tip of 18% for a large group. What can I say about the food? It is not high cuisine, it is just good plain food, cooked right, with large portions, and quickly. With your drink order is served a heaping basket of hush puppies and a few biscuits. These hush puppies are the best on the island. They are a slightly savory corn bread deep fried ball of goodness. Most places just take a corn muffing mix and deep fry it. These balls are made with a very fine flour, making them light and flavor full. Our dinner selections ranged from the children’s pizza to the Alaskan snow crab leggs. The kids pizza was nice, and just perfect for the non-seafood eater. The Alaskan snow crab was a huge kettle of legs, plenty of claw meat. Our dinner got her $26 dollars worth. We had several plates of broiled shrimp, served with a garlic butter sauce and baked potato. These two dinners, the pickiest of eaters in our group, said there selection was perfectly done, and more than enough shrimp were served. Meaning they had some to take home. An order of Flounder stuffed with crab meat came with three huge flounder filets filled with a good half cup of lump crab meat in each filets. I had the fried sea food platter, a selection of flounder filet, scallops, shrimp, oysters, crab cake all served over French fries. It was the perfect choice for someone who can’t make up their mind. If you are looking for fine dining, with refined surroundings, I would suggest you choose one of Hilton Heads other restaurants. If you are looking for good sea food, with large portions, in a place that is family friendly you can’t go wrong with Crazy Crab. Dinner for 5 adults and 2 teen girls, 2 pre-teen girls, one beer came to just under $300. no deserts.

Disgusting bland overpriced food. Cats hanging around and being fed outside by the tables (which is an enormous health hazard as the owners feed them and keep them there.) Very overpriced. Food didnt fill the plate for $30. I ordered the broiled captains platter for $29.95 and received some fish (didnt wanna try the mystery fish), two shrimp, three tasteless scallops, a crab cake about two centimeters in diameter, and an unsweet old rubbery lobster tail. My father ordered the steamed seafood pot which included half a lobster tail (still unsweet old and rubbery), four shrimp, three very small oysters (smaller than a quarter each), one cluster of crab legs (some with no meat or little meat in them) and one ear of corn (biggest thing in the unfilled bucket). My mother and grandmother ordered the stuffed flounder which were the size of a half dollar. Inside was a crab cake with thousand island dressing on top (same as my crab cake.) My brother ordered the fish and chips which were the best thing any of us received. He said it tasted bland and he also ordered a $6 ice cream worth $2. Everyone except my brother got baked potatoes (which were hard, not fresh at all, and tasted like they had been reheated) and steamed broccoli. None of us ordered or expected these items to take up half our plates. Before my meal I also ordered a caesar salad for $6.50 and it had lettuce, dressing, croutons, and cheese. It was huge and filled the plate and was honestly the best thing for the money. We also received free hush puppies (only one plate though you dont get more than one) and no refills. The waiter never returned to check on us or take our dirty plates or ask if we needed refills. My grandmother was even afraid to ask for a refill of sweet tea because she thought we would have to pay again for another drink. Overall I would never recommend this place to my worst enemy and I would never waste money here again. The best thing in the restaurant was the tropical fish tank we got to look at while we waited for a seat. My father says he is 54 years old and that is the most disgusting dining experience hes ever eaten in his life. "Ive tasted fast food that was better than that. In fact, Ive had frozen food from Wal-mart that was a lot better than that." Terrible food and terrible experience.
