Arrived around dinner time (not late). Ugh. We wont be going back, ever. My girlfriend and I planned on enjoying one of these "famous" burgers after she had a long day of working. She was dressed very professionally and Ill be honest - looked amazing. It wasnt 30 seconds after sitting down at the bar that she was immediately approached and gawked at by the locals (with me sitting next to her!!!). It was terrible, and they just kept saying rude and inappropriate things to her. The wait staff and bartenders obviously dont care that their locals are running off new business because they let it continue. Eventually we ordered a drink and a burger - I ordered mine Medium-Rare, but it came out well-done. Terrible. I asked the bartender if she put it in as MR, and she did, and offered to make another but by that time we just wanted to escape. She did take $3 off my bill though without asking.... yay? The whole time we were there two things happened: 1) Locals approached my girlfriend and kept saying inappropriate things, or staring her down across the room the whole time. Or, they were yelling F-bombs across the bar. 2) Locals looked at me like, "you dont belong here, why are you here". And they wonder why they keep declining and business is going to crap???? We had our 1 drink, ate our meals, and were out of there as quickly as possible. Dont go here if youre female and expect to escape the local riff-raff. I recommended Woodys Sports Tavern as a good alternative to this place. Good burgers, and the staff there doesnt let the locals accost your female companion.

I have been here several times. The food is great: Great burgers, best in town with a wide variety to choose from. Great wings: They are baked and then fried, this gets a lot of the fat out of them. The flavoring is great as well, my preference is buffalo style. Homemade cheese sticks and homemade poppers are awesome. Wide selection of beer both draft and bottle. Always a daily special. The atmosphere is comfortable with friendly and nice staff. They will make you feel like you belong there. It has a nice neighborhood feel. The owners (husband and wife) are on-sight and hands on. They are the drivers of a friendly, service oriented culture and are vested in making sure that you will want to return. They are constantly improving all aspects of their business (menus, atmosphere, etc). If you havent been there lately, you should stop by and see the improvements, they are dramatic. Their investment in the business is obvious. There is something for everyone here. Dinning with the kids, TVs (new) with sports and business news, and live music that is a refreshing change. I will certainly return.

Wow, Abbey Road, what the hell happened to you??? You guys used to have fantastic burgers, big, thick and juicy. The meal I got last night was ABSOLUTE CRAP!!! You obviously changed owners because the food has gone downhill. So much so that Ill never, and I mean NEVER even think about your burgers again. Except for maybe when Im throwing up. I ordered a chili burger and there was literally a half a teaspoon of chili on my burger. So little chili that I thought they screwed the burger order up. The burgers were thin, overcooked and dry and the rolls were solid as a rock. And I paid over $9.00 for mine. $9.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Really I wanted to drive back and shove the burgers down your throat holes, but I was tired and youre lucky as hell. Nasty, nasty, nasty overpriced CRAP. Have a nice day!

Great burgers, potentially nice atmosphere. New owner is catering to gambling machines, place has started attracting gambling addicts. The place is losing its old flavor. I wont be back...........errrr (more below!!!) Whoa!!!! I told the owner my feelings about the fourth machine he had just installed on the bar. After initially saying he liked the things, he stood around and noticed the negative reaction of the next group of customers........and removed the newest machine! I really like this little pub, and hope that not only that decision sticks, but that the place continues to deliver great food, good times, and all with a decent crowd. Holding the rating at a three for now, want to give the place a five -- but could just as easily turn into a one too. Stay strong Abbey!

I love burgers, so that is why I go to Abbey Road. I used to love the bacon cheese fries (sometimes ordering 2), but the burger is the real star and now I pretty much just focus on that, leaving 1/2 the fries uneaten. The fries seem fresh-cut, single fried (so a little soggy) and if you go the bacon cheese route, the bacon is thin crispy and real with real cheese. As for the burger, I prefer the "George", bacon, cheese, lettuce, tomato, and I add sauteed mushrooms. I ask for medium rare or rare, as inevitably with burgers (not steaks) "rare" usually makes sure its medium rare when I dont want to worry the "medium rare" could be closer to medium. The bun is up to the task of holding all the juices, mushroom, tomato, and beef alike. The burger is huge, sometimes messy, and heaven.

Saw on another site a similar complaint, but on 12/28 at 8:45Pm the hostess told my party of 4 that the kitchen was broken and that she couldnt seat us in the empty restaurant and to come back tomorrow. We saw many people on the bar side eating food and getting their orders delivered, so we decided to call to see if we could do a carry out order. When the same hostess was prepared to take our order, I asked her why she decided to tell us the kitchen was broken. Thats when she said that they were just understaffed and she didnt want to be working both the restaurant and bar side. Called the owner and he never called me back about the complaint.

My wife and I went here because I had heard what great burgers they have. When we walked in the place looked filthy. There were crumpled up napkins around the table we were seated at, food crumbs all over the floor, and the whole place looked dingy. I ordered a medium well Paul burger (a vegetarian like Paul would probably NOT be happy that he has a burger named after him). The burger was incredibly dry and not that good. The onion rings on the side were just greasy and flavorless. My wife liked the chopped barbecue sandwich enough, but it was not Eastern NC BBQ. I probably wont be jumping at the chance to eat here again.

w Now...Smoov1469 is now gonna tell ya all about ABBEY ROAD. It is fun and safe like Frog and Toad. Im just a customer with no strings attached. I can vouch for the love and effort that is afforded me at this establishment. I am capable of recommending any dish that is dished out and it is the best so I give this shout out. I have rolled all the joints. I tell you...you will not be disappointed by the food or the clientel. This ship not gonna sink like Yellow Submarine cuz I think it is Supreme. Burgers, pasta salad off the chain youll never hear me complain.

This was my neighborhood bar for the better part of a decade, so I may be a bit biased. But, in the last 2 years I have only been a handful of times. Good news, little has changed. The atmosphere is still a great time with lots of awesome live music, the best bar staff anywhere, and awesome bar food (if its your first time, get a burger). If you ever have a chance and are looking for a good time, go here. Eat, drink, and play a little cornhole. Make sure you chat with the locals, great tight knit folks that will welcome you like family.
