This restaurant with its Adirondack theme had lots to look at. This restaurant came highly recommended from a business colleague that had used this restaurant for many business meetings to entertain clients. We were there ahead of our reservation and decided to have a drink at the bar. Thats when things started to go wrong. The blonde 20 something bartender came up to us and asked us what we wanted to drink. When we questioned her as to the types of bourbon they offered she indicated she did not know and walked away. She then was down at the end of the bar talking with the other 20 something male servers about her social life. 5 minutes later she came back and asked us again if we knew what we wanted and decided to bend over and show off her small push up bra tits to get us to buy something. We were unimpressed and pay no mind. Again we questioned her and she said I think we have four roses. We were pleased and then asked her to make us bourbon manhattans. She did and then left after delivering the drinks. We did ask her when she brought the drinks if we could see the menu but didnt return for 15 minutes. We took our seats at the reservation time and started with appetizers. Constant companion had buffalo chicken wings. Believed that since we were in Buffalo the wings would be good, NOT TRUE. They came out room temperature at best. I had the bone marrow which also came out cold with burnt toast. We complained to the server who was great, by the way, and told us her would tell the chefs. Dinner came out which looked great but was even more disappointing. Companion had a grilled center cut pork chop on the bone which was cooked properly but had a vegetable puree which was again cold and did not match the pork chop at all and it was bitter. My meal was to be seafood sausage with grilled scallops and a beet and acorn squash puree. First everything was cold, the beet puree was inedible. The scallops were only cooked on one side. I couldnt eat it and called over to the server to take the dish away. He was again great and handled it with professionalism and a smile. He offered us desserts, coffee and a after dinner drink on him. He also offered to make something else. We did not want to venture any further since nothing went right. He took off my dinner and one glass of wine. When I told my colleague she was mortified and highly surprised. The only explanation would be that it was Dingus Day in south Buffalo and that maybe this was the B team in the kitchen and behind the bar.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. I went to the lodge in 2014 when it opened and raved about how great the food, drinks and decor was well thats all down hill now. Invited out of town guests for a special dinner and thought theyd love this place instead i was embarrassed. My friends arrived before me and ate the bread and the server didnt offer to bring more at all ..guess i dont deserve bread. Then My server didnt know anything about the food items on the small and lacking menu which is sad. She didnt even know what dressing came with the wings like are you kidding me. She tried to convince me not to order a cocktail cause the bar tenders dont know how to make it...wow....so a server who cant serve or know the menu and a bartender that cant bartend..she brings my drink out eventually...with no straw and she spills alot if my 14 dollar drink on the table and then doesnt offer to clean it or even bring me a napkin. After she came and went 2 more times i asked for a straw and napkin. Then the cieling starts pouring water everywhere. Two tables clear off. We thought we were lucky not getting wet but then the speaker directly behind us starts blasting music out of no where and it goes from high and low extremes. Up and down no steady level of sound. Needless to say we left a 12 dollar tip the server didnt deserve . Our ears ringing. Heads pounding. Thirst not quenched and shoes soaked. But hey the food wasnt messed up so kudos to the chefs.

The upscale atmosphere, coupled with the wide variety of demographics covered by the menu offerings, absolutely blew me away. The renovations and strategic planning of the business model have made this destination worth every minute of the wait, and the use of the space is beyond what Bayou ever could have dreamed of achieving. The interior is majestic, yet comfortable and familiar. One walk around the place made it evident how every square foot of the space, upstairs and downstairs, was being used to make clients of all kinds welcome. The food was well-prepared, and looked fantastic. Im a very picky eater, but everyone in my party ended up sharing a bit of everything. I kept a tight-grip on my Chicken Fried Chicken Sandwich, though! During dinner, our server was easy-going, and we received prompt service without an interruption every few minutes as is the case at too many sit-down restaurants. Afterwards, our bartender was very knowledgeable and very willing to assist a gentleman in my party discover some drinks hed never had or even heard of, as the rest of us explored the expansive and delicious cocktail menu. I could go on forever, but Ill leave it at this: after only a few weeks of being open, The Lodge has stepped up to the plate and covered a wide-variety of the preferences of Buffalo without spreading themselves too thin. Im excited to see how their menu and entertainment offerings evolve in the coming years!

Ive been here three times, most recently, my friends and I came here for lunch and randomly saw an actor from Entourage walk out as we were eating. We looked him up, his name is Wiliam Fichtner. We have no idea what he was doing in town but that was cool.. The first time I visited it took me a minute to find the place because theres no "The Lodge" sign outside, just a big antlered sign, their logo, hanging from the front of the building. Once inside though, The Lodge whisks you away to a modern and chic outdoorsy space. Yes, there are antler chandeliers and birch trees, but it doesnt have a corny feel to it. They obviously spent a lot of time and money on décor and it shows. Upstairs theres a game room with Skee-Ball which is cool, and there is a wintery bar room upstairs too with a balcony overlooking the street The food is generally very good. Ive had the fish tacos, the salmon sandwich with fries, and the lobster mac & cheese. All have been top notch. They make their fries in house which is also a nice touch. Their cocktail menu and beer list are great. My favorite cocktail is the Orchard Fresh Mojito, a medley of mint and granny smith that always get my juices flowing. Service is solid. Food is great. Drinks are awesome. The Lodge is becoming my new favorite spot downtown!

Would never go back here. Had THE WORST service Ive ever experienced - and funny enough the wait staff we had was fine, but the manager was actually the problem! We were a group of 8 people so we knew the wait would be longer than usual which we were fine with so we ordered some drinks. (Please note that when we sat down over half of the restaurant was empty...) After over a 45 mins of no drinks (not even coffee or water which was ordered) one of our group members asked to speak with the manager. This manager (turns out is the son of the owner) still didnt come out to speak with us so after another 15 mins of waiting another of our group members went up to speak with him, only to be rudely told to go sit down. Finally, after over an hour of being seated with no drinks our group decided we were going to leave. As we were getting up to leave our food started to come out - Yes, BEFORE the drinks even arrived. As the food was being placed in front of us the manager came out with our drinks and was so inappropriately rude to all of us!! I have never been so disrespected in my life before - WOULD ADVISE TO STAY AWAY FROM A PLACE THAT IS MANAGED SO POORLY!!
