ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! ! ! From the food to the staff and the cleanliness. My family cannot get enough of this place. We have tried almost everything on the menu and have not been disappointed once! Our favorites are the chili chicken, bangan bhar for the entrees, vegetable pakora, samosas for the appetizer, and our kids LOVE their fresh mango lasse and kneer! Its really hard to pick favorites because we have so many close runners up. Needless to say you will not be disappointed. Besides their exquisite food, the staff is more than delightful. Every single time we have been in to eat we get impeccable treatment, they are more than accommodating. We have an 8 and a 2 year old and appreciate that very much! We cannot say enough wonderful things about this establishment. Thank you India garden for the consistently amazing food and smiling faces! See you soon!

Disappointing!!!! Rip-off!!!! I was at India Garden for lunch. I think that all the staffs need to be trained well for the service. When they brought a plate to my table, they almost threw away the plate and napkins on the table which was so rude. In addition, I saw the nasty thing that one of Indian staff did ;when he was bringing out extra plate, he just looked the plate and scratched it with his dirty finger nails and put this plate on my table. It was so nasty!!! Curry wasnt good because there was a bone in the curry. I thought that it was piece of meat!! I almost broke my teeth... I told them regarding the bone but they charged me full price of meal. I am also a good tipper but I didnt even leave a tip. I WONT go back there again!!!! Horrible service and food!!!!

I got on this to write a review very similar to Vics, and Im glad someone else feels the same way. The owners here are sticking to their guns to provide a consistent, quality experience. The staff are very courteous, unobtrusive, and professional. I love the "fine dining" atmosphere that they have maintained for the five years Ive been going there, including cloth napkins. They recently remodeled and now have a full bar, patio, and a much more "hip" decor. Im glad to see them able to take the next step. One small caveat, it would be nice to see them stretch out just a little with their food offerings, at least for the lunch buffet. What they do have is very good, but some surprise now and then wouldnt hurt.

The food was excellent!!! If the service had been more I would have rated it a five. There were two two tops, two people waiting for a take out order and me, a single woman at the bar. A host and two servers were enough to provide excellent service. Took a bit longer than it should have to order. When I said I had to take food home they gave me a tray. No offer to actually package it themselves even though I am a woman and had the heavy tandoori pan. If they didnt want to offend my independence, at least make the offer and give me the opportunity to refuse. I was in the hospitality business for a long time. A little better service and this would be one of my favorite places to eat in Asheville.

Worst CHICKEN MANCHURIAN ever. Drove from charlotte to Ashville and stopped by this restaurant on a Friday evening (it was pretty empty except for a couple of tables with people). We ordered my husbands favourite Chicken manchurian. After 15 mins, when the dish arrived, we were pretty dissapointed with the look of eat, we went ahead to eat it anyway. Seriously!!! Popcorn chicken cooked in tomato sauce, is that chicken manchurian?????? The chef should seriously learn the definition of a manchurian dish. After this, we were afraid to order any other dish in their menu. However, we ended up ordering Dal tadka (assuming who could go wrong with plain indian Dal) and yogurt to save our stomachs for the day.

My wife and I have been a big fan of India Garden for the last 5 years. We have had countless but memorable meals. Great service, great authentic food. They offer a fabulous buffet thats reasonably priced and will surely please anyone that loves Indian food. The staff is always attentive and Indian as well, which adds to the authenticity of the restaurant. The atmosphere is more upscale than other Indian restaurants in town. We always find a relaxing, comfortable restaurant that makes it one of our best restaurants in Asheville. We also find the location very convenient away from the hustle bustle of downtown, with plenty of parking. Dont miss this awesome restaurant.

Only did the buffet, but it was super yummy! About my only thing is it could have been a bit spicier and thicker sauces, but otherwise the flavors were spot on. They have a nice variety and my husband, myself, and my 9 month old all left satisfied. The servers are courteous, the decor is nice, and for $10 lunch buffet, its a good price. One of the best parts was the dessert. I just started eating Indian food a few years ago and I have never really liked the desserts. But they have this rice pudding made with rose water that is amazing, especially with the mango thats right beside it. If you like Indian, Im sure youll like this place.

Wait, you havent eaten here before? Ive traveled Northern India and upon return was missing the good indigenous traditions of hearty but light meals. As a vegan and unfortunate gluten intolerance, I have found not only my scrumptious meals but also a great many employees who enjoy nothing more than to share their love of the culture and cuisine. I very much like the Chana Masala (Vegan) and boy oh boy, that Mulligatawny soup...take out is quick as well and fresh and still hot when you get home; is it the spices ,) - Location, excellent, no hassle like downtown traffic and great ambiance. This is it!

Stay Away... bland food and too expensive.....I usually eat from Indian restaurants where ever I go and this is the first place Ive found broccoli in biriyani !!!!!! ha ha... it says shahi chicken biriyani, and it is not even like a biriyani, its just rice mixed with chicken curry...:) If you ever had good chicken biriyani before, you wont appreciate any bite of it...... Also paneer krahi was also horrible....All the items were really overpriced.... atleast 3-4 $ more than any other indian restaurants in US.... It cost $58 for two of us for the worst dinner we have ever had....

We tried this place this past weekend. It was an okay place. The staff really needs to be more friendly and mannered. Need to care for the customers. I only tried vegetarian here and it was okay. There was nothing special about it and it was cold. The gulab jamuns were very hard and didnt taste too good at all. I didnt get a chance to go to Mela or else I would have. This place was better than Cinnamon Kitchen though. However went for buffet here and for dinner at Cinnamon Kitchen.

Something changed here. Prices jumped $4-5 in under a year and food quality went down considerably. A year ago I would have rated it a 4, but now sadly not so. Atmosphere is great and for over a year now the staff has improved their attitude significantly. But the food is way overpriced and just barely "OK." Tried lamb biryani and this time the meat was very dry, the dish tasting how I imagine "lamb-fried rice" would be if you could order it from cheap Chinese takeout.
