I went to this place after almost a year, since I moved out of Roanoke. I really loved this place back when It used to be off Franklin. But they have changed the location and the menu. I did not like the new menu so much, they have removed some of the classics like Ammas goat curry off the menu. Also they have bundled the curries into typical offerings with different meats. Sort of like a template. I tried the goat Kadhai in the hopes that it would be something like the awesome Ammas goat curry from before the transformation. But I was very disappointed that it was so bland and a little flavorless. Tazaa had a real class and was very unique, loads better than Nawab, but I guess they changed the menu to pander to their customer base and try to attract more American and middle eastern customers. However this Indian customer was a little disappointed and couldnt help but think, how the mighty have fallen!

In my opinion the best place in Roanoke to eat! The food is amazing, good portions and prepared to perfection! The very best chicken tikka masala, which is one of my favorites! They offer a wonderful buffet with a wide assortment of choices. The staff is stellar and go above and beyond to make sure your dining experience is memorable. We have been lucky enough to have Taaza cater several business and personal events for us. Each event has been outstanding from an event on the roof top of Center in The Square to an outdoor lake front event. I highly recommend this restaurant for quality food and service. Treat yourself to an amazing dining experience!

Went there for New years Eve, had the set menu. Prawns with remoulade and goat cheese samosas, a wild mushroom bisque with roasted cumin that was to die for, and a veg Thali with crispy bhindi,a savory dhal, paneer tikka masala, and kachumber salad. My companions both had the lamb shank Rogan Josh. Food was amazing, compares to the Chambeli in Russell Square (alas gone now). Did not expect cuisine of this calibre in Salem. Service was excellent. Atmosphere is nice, although a bit loud on the bar side. Were planning to go back of a weekend and try the buffet.

Taaza is my favorite restaurant. The food is always fresh and full of the rich herb and spice combinations you expect. They have a number of special dishes but dont ignore the Indian classics where you choose a protein (or potatoes!) and a preparation style. Anyone trying to eat healthier, get any of the cream sauces made with coconut milk. This does thin the preparation a bit but I think it adds a great layer of flavor. The staff are always very friendly and helpful, too. Try it!

The food was a little better than the older location and the place is also very fancy. It was a bit cold when we were there because of the fan but Im sure they wouldve turned it off if we had asked. The food was still great and hot. Ive also went during the buffet and it is good as well. The staff was also very nice - they fulfilled our needs. Just one problem: The parking, it is really hard to find free parking and if you do youre gonna have to wait just a bit back to the restaurant.

Excellent Indian food in a new more intimate location. The ambience of the new location blends so well with the superb service always delivered. We have always enjoy Tazaa in its old location and the new location hasnt lost a beat. They still deliver on the quality of food. Though the buffet has been downsized all the classics are still present and accounted for. This is the best Indian restaurant in the area bar none.

There are a few Indian restaurants here in town, and Ive had good food at many, but the proximity to other great venues such as the Grandin Theatre make this a great place to have dinner before a movie at the historical theatre! I live locally and am so happy to have this restaurant move into the city from the county that had nothing else within walking distance. I also think that the lunch buffet is a great deal!

Huge disappointment for Indian Palate. Travelled some 40 miles to Roanoke to eat some Indian food and all for this nothing. Compared to how it was in its previous location, we(along with colleagues who used to regular at old Taaza) extremely disliked the buffet menu and taste. Things were pretty bland for Indian palate. Seems that food was made to cater for only a common american palate.

Best Indian buffet by far still. Love the new menu & location, its better inside! Buffet is little smaller now but price also less than before. Great service & worth the drive if u like a different variety. Chef Prem & Mani make the best, most unique dishes. Also, Mediterranean foods offered. parking in back, sides & front areas. Turmeric milk tea very tasty too!

The timings listed by google are wrong. The real timings now are 11:00 AM - 2:00PM Buffet 5:00 PM- 10:00 PM A La Carte I went there one at 2:00 and the buffet was already closed. The food at the buffet has a lot of variety. The Naans are fresh and delicious. The timings suck, usually buffets are open until 3:00, but this one isnt

The food, service, Taj Mahal beer, Indian tea, dessert, atmosphere, and bathroom all were very good and authentic. The only reason I do not give 5 stars is that I am used to something spicier (I added pepper though). I had not said anything about spice level and nobody asked, but that would not be a big deal for next try!

Worst visit I ever have in my life. never go there again. I place online order for Murgh tikka and received chicken 65 worth 75% less of what I pay for. Who ever I spoke to have 000 Zero knowledge of what Murgh tikka is, he continually insists me murgh tikka And chicken 65 are same and that is not tolerable to me.

This place lived up to the reviews. Everything was fresh and tasty on the lunch buffet. Not right next to I-81 but probably only 10 minute detour. Easy and inexpensive parking. Cost of buffet reasonable. Id definitely come here regularly if I lived in Roanoke.

Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options clearly labeled on the menu. Fantastic food, pleasant and efficient waitstaff. We tried two drinks specials, both were delicious. They have never disappointed.
