Had a bad experience here. We were in Asheville and decided to try this place. Ordered the Veg. Manchurian and asked for medium hot. However, this came out super sweet. We hated it so much that none of us ate it and we told our server (a girl) that its too sweet and we dont like it at all. We had ordered Chilli Paneer as our entree and she still did not mention that it would be sweet. We had to confirm it with her and then canceled it. We ordered Okra and the quantity was good and so was the okra but it came with a very generous serving of rice which we werent expecting and were not told. I guess its one of those fine prints on the menu. Since we canceled the Chilli Paneer, we ordered Dal Tadka and Veg Biryani. First the veg biryani was horrible in taste and it wasnt cooked well. Second, the Dal Tadka didnt taste that great and it came with rice too. When we were ordering biryani she still didnt mention that it comes with rice. We would have eaten the biryani if it tasted good but all the white rice would have been wasted. At the end, we wasted the Manchurian, dal tadka and biryani (only one of us ate a spoon each to try both) and all the white rice. We didnt eat well and still wasted all that. Paid a big amount and returned from the place with empty stomach. The only good thing I can say about this restaurant is that the qty is very good and I would have been happy to eat here if the food was as good. Also I did not try any meats here so if i am forced next time to go there, i might try meat but i am still skeptical to go there again.

Our third go round with Cinnamon Kitchen. I keep hoping it will be better, because I keep hearing how great it is from friends and associates. Let me start by saying yes, the food is good. Quite good. But the service is horrible. We ordered appetizer, soup, salad, and entrees. We got soup and entrees. No appetizer, no salad. It took fifteen minutes for someone to notice my wifes water glass was empty. I had to go up to the register to get a check after our meal - which took an hour and twenty minutes to serve after ordering. In fairness, we were not charged for the items we ordered but were not served. So theres that. Three times is enough. There are other Thai restaurants in Asheville where the food is quite good, and the service is much better. Oh, and one more thing: if you like Chai, and you do decide to try Cinnamon Kitchen despite my protestations, do yourself a favor and dont order the Chai. Its so sweet, it tastes like a Chai milk shake. No bite, not even a bark.

UPDATED 8/13/2012: This awesome restaurant has now become one of our absolute favorite restaurants in Asheville. We go here once a week and the food is always absolutely delicious. The heat level is to your specification, and if you want to avoid any foods just ask your server, they are very accommodating. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, and the prices are really phenomenal for the high quality of food and the caliber of the cuisine. Portions are generous. Try the lamb chop appetizer, it is amazing. I crave this dish and have to get it every time I come. Desserts are mostly homemade by the staff. This is a sweet local spot in an otherwise barren part of town riddled with franchises.

I am a foodie and a great cook. So, I selectively choose the restaurant based on reviews (far or away). We drove an extra distance to reach this place and had to try the "worst biriyani of life". The magic of biriyani lies in the quality of basmati rice and bold blend of flavours. Unfortunately, what they served was rice (not basmati) mixed with some mutton pieces and capsicum. We ate what we could, just because we were starving at that time. I have no complaint about the customer service or cleanliness , but would like to request you to serve proper Indian food or else please dont fool customers in the name of authentic Indian cuisine.

My husband and I visited Cinnamon Kitchen for the very first time and enjoyed an incredible Indian feast. I could not believe how fabulous the food was! Cinnamon Kitchen does NOT have a buffet but we ordered a la carte. We are vegetarians from India and we ordered the Kofta La Jawab and Eggplant for entree and Vegetarian Manchurian for appetizer. All the food was excellent and my favorite was the Vegetarian Manchurian. We got complimentary Gulab Jamun for dessert and it was delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant and the service was fantastic and the music was refreshing. Thanks to Cinnamon Kitchen for a wonderful feast!

McDonalds wishes they were this good. As previous posters suggest, the negative comments must have come from competition or from totally different management and staff. Everything was wonderful. It is not the most elegant of places, but the quality of the food definitely makes you forget that. I had tandoori mix grill, wife had chicken tika masala. Took left overs... Which I wont be allowed to have.

Disappointed. Took our order, 25 minutes came back and asked if we ordered. He forgot to put our order in! 45 minutes for food, he apologized, but when I asked if he forgot to put order in, he lied and said "no, almost ready". I rather have someone tell the truth and bring a free appetizer while we have to wait longer. Food was very good, but priced slightly high. Will not be going back.

Ive been here about a dozen times for the lunch buffet, and the food is really good--fresh and tasty. Ive eaten in a great many Indian restaurants, including in India, and this one is first-rate. The environment and service are both pleasant as well. Its not fancy but it certainly has well above average decor for a mall restaurant.

Friendly staff, delicious food, pleasant, relaxed atmosphere. Nice little place with character than all the other franchise and chain restaurants surrounding it. If you want something different and surprisingly pleasant and delicious, this is the place to come when you are near Biltmore Estate.

One of our favorite restaurants. Tandoori chicken is excellent, as is the Naan (bread, baked on premises). Other entrees are great as well. Some staff are not fluent speaking English, but the Headwaiter is. Service is great, and diners do not have to wait an eternity to be served.

Great food every time. The service is just way too slow unfortunately. Theres no way you can get back to work with an hour lunch break at all. You also have to ask for things multiple times and even then you have to be lucky. This is with the restaurant about half full..

The prices are amazing here! You can get an entire meal for $15-20! The food is tasty and the chef caters to your dietary needs. You can also choose from mild-medium-high spiciness. There is a nice selection of dishes on the menu. The staff is friendly and humorous.
