Let me start with I love Park Side restaurant! I live 3 blocks away and my boyfriend and I been coming there 4 past Sundays in a row. I thought Id found my neighborhood spot. I am ALWAYS nice to waitstaff, I am not rude and patient. Last night the nasty waiter Christian (I believe thats his name) was super rude, inattentive and walked away from our table while taking the entree order, when my boyfriend wanted to ask him about the specials he said aha and walked away. My boyfriend was furious but I convinced him to give the waiter another chance and not give him an opportunity to ruin our evening (misery likes company). There was no other chance to give cause he disappeared for the rest of the night taking care of the big private party, completely ignoring us, which was fine because he had like 3 nice backwaiters keeping an eye on our table. After we were done with desserts and coffees weve been waiting for a check for 20 minutes when finally the maitre d/manager/owner stopped by to wish us a good night (very pleasant man btw), my boyfriend made a comment that it was the worst service we have ever had since we started dining in there. After two minutes the nasty rude mean no class having waiter brought the check and angrily THREW the pen on the table as if he was doing us a favor (someone needs anger management classes). My boyfriend left no tip. On our way out the nice manager apologized again and I handed him the tip for backwaiters service trying to tell him not to give that to Christian cause he didnt deserve it and I hope he followed my advice. My boyfriend and I wont be back even tho we love the food (truffle fettuccine), valet parking, convenience and a nice gentleman at the door. Service was very poor that night. Good luck to Christian and I hope the owners realize that having a miserable person as a part of waitstaff cost them a couple of regulars. Ba bye now..

Too many great things to post at the moment but will exact why this restaurant is so special, besides the only Italian food my family loves. The Parkside is what real Southern Italian food tastes like when prepared with love and FRESH, HOMEMADE ingredients). And the steaks? When I grew up and all wanted to go 2 Post, Lugars, Sparks etc; friends and work. Then talk about how much they spent. Never impressed. I laughed. The Parkside is a big space and you are treated with impeccable TRUE Italian service. Considering nobody knows or cooks Beef like Argentines (More Italians there than the United States my paternal Grandma Rosa LaPerla Scrocca and her family left Sicily for Buenos Aires before coming to NYC and then Corona - Rosie really was the Queen of Corona & The Parkside was honestly the only restaurant she truly enjoyed herself). Fresh pasta, sauces, seafood, veal, how she knew it should taste the rare occasion she was not cooking. She never liked other top restaurants we brought her to LOL. Now: the steaks. There are cooks for the steaks from Argentina by great chefs from the areas large Argentine populace. Yes, Argentines specifically for beef. The drinks are awesome BTW at the Parkside - best times and memories, and cool to introduce it to my friends; esp friends/colleagues from Vancouver, India, Puerto Rico, UK, Germany etc. The value is absurd (Bacce di Ralph e Cathy. Il mio padri stava guardando per il suo mico, il otro che viva doppo Nostra Signora di Lagrimas/Horrores - sorry had to LOL) This is NYC. THIS IS AMERICA. MUST GO! PLUS U LEARN GREAT LOCAL/GLOBAL THINGS. GREAT HISTORY THAT CONTINUES. Tbc later...tutto il mio amore e il ricordo del cuoro. Famiglia - everyone is here :) Vicki Scrocca

I came here for dinner with my husband, his best friend and his girlfriend. My husband and his friend both grew up in Corona and told me this restaurant was an old school Italian restaurant, one of the top 3 for Italian food in the city, and one of their favorite places to go. We had a reservation at 8:30 and arrived early so my husband and I had drinks at the bar while we waited for our friends. The bartender was awesome, gave us a generous serving and was super helpful when I was indecisive on what I wanted to drink. When we got seated we were given a giant bread basket, and a plate of cheeses and salami. We almost got full just eating that! We ordered and the food came out very fast. I had just a caesar salad with shrimp due to eating too much before dinner, my husband had the cheese tortellini alfredo, his best friend a veal dish and his girlfriend had chicken... The food was just amazing. The salad had such a hefty serving of jumbo shrimp! There was so much I couldnt even finish it. I snuck a few bites (ok.... half of his plate) of my husbands tortellini and wow, just simply amazing! After we finished the meal, I was eyeing the desert cart and just had to have their flan. It was the best flan I ever had! My husband and his best friend did not lie about this restaurant. It is a hidden gem in Queens. You must come here if you are in search of good Italian food.

My friends and I ate at this restaurant this past Monday and i t was quite crowded for a Monday night. In less then 5 mins. I knew why. It was decorated beautifully for the upcoming holiday. The service was great, my water glass was never less then 1/2 full. They put an assmnt of bread, including salami bread(quite full), on the table along with bruschetta and chunks of Parmiggiano Reggiano Cheese and olive oil. I ordered the Seafood Fra Diavolo with Linguini and I cant say enough good things about it. I have never seen such an amount of seafood and the calamari and scungilli were the tenderest I have ever had, truly the texture of butter. The mussels were plump, the 2 shrimp, colossal and everything was perfectly cooked with just the right amount of spiciness. And, most important, the linguini was freshly cooked and al dente(could of used a little more considering the amount of seafood). One complaint, I think a small salad should be offered with pasta dishes as it was $24.95 and the salad would have been a nice addition of some fiber. We ordered some escarole ala carte instead and it was garlicky and delicious. Cant wait to go back.

For a Sunday afternoon with a 3pm reservation for two people, they were quite crowded on the lower level. We waited a bit to be seated, but it wasnt long until we were escorted to the Marilyn floor, adorned with Marilyn Moores face and famous up-flowing dress. The service was excellent. Its wonderful to see suits on the waiters and treating the diners with such respect. We started with hot antipasto. After eating that, the bread basket, and the cheese and meat plate, I didnt think I was able to eat what I ordered. I had fusilli with lamb ragu (delicious) and my other half had the pasta carbonara. Even though the plate were so large and so full, we had to get tiramisu and pistachio tartufo. I cant ever say no to pistachio ice cream and there was so much of it. We didnt feel rushed, the staff made sure were were comfortable and our glasses were filled. The one thing I recommend is make a reservation. While we were waiting, quite a few people had to be turned away because there was nothing available for 4 hours. Make your reservation! Its very worth it. Now, excuse me while I have leftovers for lunch.
