One of the best and most authentic Indian restaurants I have ever had the pleaseure of eating at. The dmstafg was very friendly and checked on us often. Water was refilled before the glass could get half empty which was nice considering the heat of the vindaloo. The atmosphere was very nice, clean and somewhat upscale considering the surrounding area under subway tracks. Food was incredible. The chaat pooli was very interesting, air puffed bread with delicious chickpeas in a creamy sauce. The garlic naan was also very good, our gluten allergic friend even decided it was worth it to try a slice. The lamb jalfrezi was excellently cooked and had a nice medium spice. The onions and peppers added some nice crispy texture and the sauce was sublime. The vindaloo was delicious, though cooked authentically which means it was hotter than lava. Still, it was a good burn and still had good flavor. The chicken and paneer masalas were also delicious and on the sweet side. The meat was all cubed and cooked very well, leaving it very tender and juicy. I wish we lived closer to Queens to try it again!

We stopped by here for dinner after reading all of the great Yelp reviews. We were here on a late dinner around 9pm on a Wednesday night. The place was empty. The decor is nice. Definitely one of those place where you can take your date to. We ordered the chicken tikka masala, the chicken masala, the chili naan, the garlic naan, & an order of rice. The chicken tikka masala was good but we were a bit disappointed because it was not spicy enough. Its actually not spicy at all for us. Well, we are not saying its bad, the chicken tikka masala is still pretty good but not perfect for us. If you cant handle spicy food, youll definitely love the chicken tikka masala here. As for the chicken masala, this dish packed full of flavor. The chili naan, now thats just absolutely amazing! We love it! You can taste the chili, its definitely spicy. The naan here seems thicker than usual. Superior food & great service! Highly recommended!

I have been a loyal customer for some time now (over a year) however a new lady seems to manage it now, she is always rushing you to order, eat, pay and go. The a/c is always off and its hot and stuffy inside during the summer. Upon requesting to turn on the a/c (as the body temperature rises during meals) she turns it on until the point where your food is served and then she turns it off once you are on the hook for the meal. They bring the check when the check is not requested and it appears that she is constantly measuring your time in the place. Well as for me, I have eaten my last meal at Masala, its a shame that this lady is the way she is because everyone else is courteous and tentative. Im not sure if she is the owner or the manager but the place is not what it use to be since shes been there.

Food is outstanding Very personable service. Have always liked my food very very spicy and the owner has never failed to meet expectations. Service is fantastic. Vindaloo is superb. I have raved about this place to all my friends. Definetly better than any restaurant I have tried in Jackson Heights area. Long live Woodside Still one of my favorite places to eat. Always have ongoing have a great time. Owner still jokes with me about trying to make food very very spicey.

The decor and ambiance was very nice. The food presentation was beautiful. The service was courteous and fast. The food itself was disappointing. We saw crab cakes Masala and decided to try their version. It stated lump crab meat with spices. We received 2 round, hash Brown patties. Chicken Tikka Masala was too sweet with no real spices. The Naan was on the sweeter side as well. The vegetable samosas were good and the rice.

I found this place 6 years ago at the New York best food book and is one of my favorites. Food is just perfect. Do not worry about the price. I usually pay $15 per person. You would love this place as I do.

The food was beyond terrible! Samosas were raw, the makhni chicken was too sweet and watery, and the raitha souse was sweet and nauseating. The worst place I have ever ordered from! Had to throw it out!

Dont be fooled by its location being in Woodside. This restaurant rivals any high end Indian food the the city. Owner Surendra and family add to the charm off this wonderful food.

One of the best Indian cuisine spots in nyc. Defintiely take a date. Small spot off the side street in woodside. Portions are pretty big so you might want to share.

Does not compare with the more authentic restaurants on Lexington Ave. Sauces are artificially sweet and ingredients such as paneer cheese do not seem homemade.

It took 30 m to get my food the chef was screaming & shouting in the back. Definitely would not recommend Mango Lassi it tastes like cheap mango juice.
