Went there with the intent of getting carryout and expected a short wait time and got the complete opposite. We came in and ordered when there was barely anyone in the restaurant, so we expected our food to be prepared right away. About 15-20 minutes after we gave our order, the dinner rush started to pour but we didn’t worry since we placed our order fairly early. Another 20- 30 minutes we were aggravated. Not only did we wait for an extended period of time but people that came in during the dinner rush were served before us! On top of that, our server purposely avoided walking near our table during our wait. We finally received our food after over an hour of waiting. The server not only confused our orders after giving it to us, but waited for gratuity. Obviously we didn’t give any manly due to the fact that we ORDERED OUT and didn’t dine in. Word of advice, the food was ok but seemed rushed due to the fact that they realized that we were waiting for over an hour for our order. For example, the chicken for the teriyaki fried rice was slightly undercooked and lacked any teriyaki sauce or flavoring For a first time visit, it was a terrible experience, would never go back. For those of you who are still interested in coming to this place, despite the review just call them in advance, unless you plan on waiting for over an hour to get served.

The food was alright for the price (similar to any other americanized hibachi place), but the service was pretty crummy—the chef kept honking a bike horn (annoying) and cut up a zucchini instead of the usual shrimp for the "see if you can catch it in your mouth" bit (cheap). Also ran into a few undercooked clumps of rice after I had been served. We did not try the sushi. When we ordered, we presented a SunPlus coupon for buy 1 get 1 free entree. The waitress tried to claim that the deal was only valid between Tuesday and Friday, using the phrase "offer not valid on holidays" from the coupon as justification (this was on a normal Saturday afternoon). After some hassle we did get them to honor the coupon. Bottom line: its alright if you keep your expectations low.

I didnt use a Groupon, just FYI. We had a huge number of people but were seated very quickly. Hibachi was as expected, delicious with the usual cooking tricks. Our cook seemed like he hated his job and didnt entertain us as much as other cooks across the table. My maki sushi was meh. Also, the staff was obvious about getting us out of there fast to clear the table. However!! The Scorpion bowl was sooo good and enough to get two people super tipsy. Prices are super cheap (Im from DC where prices are twice as much). So overall not bad just kind of mediocre.

Now, dont get me wrong , the food at Kabu is okay, but the place is managed horribly. The Resturant doesnt seem to be able to handle their new surge in popularity from their Groupon Deal. I called in for a reservation for three. Upon arrival, my party and I had to wait TWO hours to be seated. Id understand if the place was seated to capacity, but there were quite a few unoccupied seats. The host was nice and apologetic, but was obviously overwhelmed by the mismanagement and frustrated customers. Kabu needs to do better.

Went for lunch, and sat at the bar. The food is priced at a premium, but the service is anything but. The food was decent, but I would have been better off ordering a fish sandwich at McDonalds, and paying someone to punch me in the face while insulting my mother. Oh, and the floor was coated in some kind of oil. If I had to guess, Id say they had sumo wrestling Friday, and had just removed the ring. Either way, super slippery.

My kids and I decided to have dinner at this restaurant tonight and everything was basic not too mention the small portion you get for 20 dollars a plate but it only got worst when we ordered Sushi too go...the look of it was ridiculous..the rice was so old and hard it wasnt even able to be rolled it was literally threw in a tray...will never take my business back here and returning it to get a full refund!

Good food! We went here to celebrate my sons promotion ceremony. Since it was midday, it was empty and we were seated right away. Drink orders were taken right away and promptly delivered. Our cook arrived and was very pleasant.....he made the experience interesting and made everyone laugh. We ordered Hibachi Chicken and steak. The food was plentiful and tasty. I would recommend checking it out.

45 min wait with reservation. Only 2 chefs working 12 hibachi grills. Not even given a drink yet. I will try and see how long I can wait this out and post more later. Waitresss/hostess having verbal disagreement. Got drinks 53 minutes in. People are literally sleeping waiting for Service. Stop, hold up, yeah the food is great thou

Typical benihana japanese steakhouse vibe. Predictable show with chucking lil pieces of food at u and the onion volcano. Would rate higher for pure entertainment value but the food was sub par. Chicken was tough and underseasoned, rice and noodles were underseasoned as well and seemed to jus be dressed in msg. Prepare to nap after lol

The specialty rolls were very plain especially for the price and the tuna tataki was barely seared and it consisted of five very thin pieces sitting in a puddle of "ponzu" sauce that tasted more like BBQ (wtf?). If you want sushi try Koi, Hanami or Zen which are way better and well worth it.

A nicely renovated location (superior to the competition down the street) with excellent happy hour prices, good service, and generous portions. My only comment is I would prefer bean sprouts over noodles but, zero complaints about the noodles or the food overall.

My new favorite place in Laurel. Its not to far from my house. The service is always good. The food is always delicious and the drinks are SUPER strong but good!! Bring your appetite. You will not finish your food before leaving. Reasonable in cost. I LOVE IT HERE!

Awesome happy hour. The sushi is pretty good and the appetizers, soups and salads Ive tried are great. The music is a bit too loud. I was happy with how quickly things were brought out and how often we were asked if we wanted more. I will be back again soon.

The groupon offer for this place is horrible! The managers did not even try to make a one time only exception. Please be very careful and read the fine print. It is very misleading! I wish Google had the option of NO STARS.

The food was great. I had the salmon and shrimp and a seaweed salad. The portion are large. You can eat half of your plate and save the rest for next day lunch. The restaurant is clean. The personnel is courteous.
