This is a great place for lunch and dinner, whether you are alone, a couple, a family, or a large group. The owners and staff are friendly and accommodating, and the atmosphere is cozy and casual. The menu has everything from appetizers to salads to pizza to full dinners, and it includes several Irish specialties. There is also an extensive specials menu that changes from time to time. Across a hall is the bar, which is especially popular for watching football during the season. They also have a catering hall upstairs in this historic building.

Very slow service. We dined on a Sunday afternoon. waitress was nice, but it took a long time for food to come out and then it took a loooong time for them to wrap the leftovers and give the check. I think the original waitress we had went to attend to a larger party (more bucks??) upstairs. I was in a mellow mood with my two kids (10 and 15) with me, but in this day and age I could see someone with a shorter fuse getting very upset at the service. No problems or issues with the food ONCE it eventually came out of the kitchen. Tasty fare.

We were all happy with the food. However, we must have been there on an off-night, because the service was terrible. Im not sure if they were busier than expected, or understaffed, or both. But, it took over an hour for our food to come out. No one acknowledged that the excessive wait time until I complained; I get that sometimes things get backed up, but if thats the case then good customer service would include acknowledging the delay before the customers start getting antsy.

Food is excellent and plentiful. The prices are quite reasonable. Pizzas are good, the Signature burger is delicious and so is the steak sandwich. The breaded mushrooms and fried calamari appetizers are also excellent. Trivia night on Wednesdays is great fun, and Mr. Jimmy Fox is one of the best bartenders ever, congenial, friendly and very attentive. Definitely recommend this place.

Great food, atmosphere and prices. The family owners, through their wonderful staff, treat you as part of the family which to me is a #1 priority when it comes to the restaurant business. Catering options that you can pick up or that they provide in the upstairs dining room also exceed expectations. Stop by and you will not be disappointed!

We had a party in there upstairs room , the food and service was spectacular. The room was very comfortable. The bathrooms were spotlessly clean, Ample parking .I would not hesitate to have another party there. And I thank there freindly staff for making everything look so easy and go so well.

...you would have Characters Bar and Restaurant. Steaks are better than Charlie Browns, but the atmosphere is somewhat similar. Steaks are similar to River Palm Terrace but not as expensive. If you want a good tasting cut of meat in a casual setting, I would recommend coming here.

My friend and I chose this place based on the fact that their logo looks like the Cheers logo. I had some great ribs here after hiking and camping at Harriman last January. Warmed up by the fire in the bar too. Very delicious food and cozy vibe!

Im an ex-chef and am very impressed. Other than the French onion can be made better (lacks sherry and boldness)... Stuffed avocado is nice but need lime not lemon. But the cooking is perfect, flavor of other dishes is impressive. Ill be back

One of two large restaurants on the main road through a small town. The bar area was playing loud 90s alternative music but was surprisingly empty for a Friday night. I havent eaten at the restaurant yet but Ive heard that its pretty good.

Nice wait staff and a cozy interior (half bar, half restaurant). Large selection on the menu, everything our table ordered was at best standard fare. Quite expensive considering the location.
