This guy underneath me must have had some bad experiences, but honestly, I live about an hour away from Patersons Chinese Pagoda and my family and I have been going here multiple times a year for about 5 or 6 years now! This place is amazing! True, the seating is pretty terrible, and the area isnt the best with traffic and rowdy looking folks (though nothing bad has ever, ever happened to any of us in Paterson, and weve been going to Paterson for over 23 yrs. Never seen anything to change that either!), but oh, the food! It really is amazing! And dont worry about the meats thing that the guy underneath talks about, they always pack just as much meat in their food as any other chinese place. Truly, they do. In fact, last time I ordered Orange Beef, and there were hardly any pieces of broccoli in it, just lots and lots of beef!! Ive never had a problem with any of their food, and like I said, Ive been going here since they basically opened shop! We take trips out JUST to eat here, so thats gotta show you how good it is! Now listen: If you only eat Halal meat, then this is the place for you! But if you eat non-halal, then this is just like any other chinese place. Only still, I think the service is exceptionally fast, and their being muslim and all, the food has got to be clean. Id definitely take a look at this place! Dont let reviews scare you! This is an amazing place to eat, especially if you keep Halal and are looking to eat Chinese! No pork, by the way. 100% Halal Meat!!

The food is okay. THE SERVICE PROVIDED BY THE OLDER CHINESE GUY IS HORRIBLE. The Chinese lady is okay.. BUT THE CHINESE GUY THAT ALWAYS IS ON THE FRONT DEALING WITH THE CASH REGISTER SHOULD NOT EVEN BE THERE !! HE DOESNT KNOW WHAT CUSTOMER SERVICE IS. HE DOESNT GIVE ME SAUCE WHEN I ASK OR HE DOESNT GIVE ME NAPKINS OR HES JUST AWFUL.. I go there a lot.. And I deal with him.. Today I went and I flipped out on him because I couldnt take it anymore.. THAT OLD CHINESE DUDE NEED TO GO!! HE TELLS ME TO GIVE HIM THE FOOD BACK AND HES GOING TO GIVE ME THE MONEY BACK BECAUSE I ASKED FOR SAUCE AND NAPKINS.. I AM A QUIET PERSON AND I DEALT WITH HIM. Long time but today I couldnt anymore.

Beware when you pay with credit card, sometimes they might swipe it twice and charge you double unless you look at your card statement. Food is pretty decent never had a complaint but one slight incident where a worker dropped an egg roll on their floor and he put it back on their big container with the rest of the egg rolls. I pretended I didnt see him drop it but the person had the respect to put it back after picking it up from the dirty floor. Customer service Ill grade it a C- as they care more about their payment instead of a smile that doesnt hurt.

If you are looking for Halal Chinese food your options are limited so I give it 3 stars because the food is decent but the service is horrible. I want to start a contest to make the older gentleman smile....its impossible. Ive seen him yell and talk rudely to all customers. Funny thing is everybody is used to it so nobody complains about him. Sometimes I get nervous about the cleanliness of the place but it is a fast food mostly take out restaurant, so expectations should be adjusted.

Stopped by here after reading some reviews. If youre looking for above average American Chinese food, this is the spot. Just eating their food you can tell they use fresh ingredients, clean food, clean oil, fresh meat and seafood. I definitely recommend this place if your in the area and need a quick fix.

Cant even eat at other Chinese places after eating here. I dont mean to hype it up, but you can instantly taste the quality of the meat. If you cant tell the difference between Coke and Pepsis taste, then you probably wont even notice a difference in taste from other Chinese places.

I am from New York and my husband took me there the first time.. Im not a fan of chinese food, but when I first tried it i was in LOVE with the food. it was delicious! Great customer service. I will deff come back!

I order fried shrimp rice, kang pao chicken and a couple of chicken roll. All the items were really good. Will go next time soon. Rec. to everyone friends from sub-continent considering the taste buds.

Great establishment. Some of the best Chinese cooks. After eating at this restaurant you wont want to eat anywhere else, they have great food and great standards. 10/10 would eat there again.
