We went there not during a rush, so we were seated right away and had our orders taken quickly as well. Right off the bat, we were given two glasses of water, it was nice not to have to ask for these. The appetizers that are often brought out at Korean restaurants also came out shortly after we ordered our dinners. The appetizers were very tasty, included kimchi (fermented/pickled cabbage), two different bean sprouts, a pickled seaweed dish, and what might be tofu or fish, I am not sure. We were hungry, so these were gone in an instant. I dont know enough about Korean food to know how these compare to other places. Regardless, we ordered our entrees and these came out quickly as well. I had a spicy soupy hot bowl with kimchi, maybe chicken or beef, and a little bit of what seemed to be Polish sausage mixed in, with other veggies, and a bowl of rice, that was number 16 on the menu. It was quite spicy, and the menu was correct to indicate such. I did not think it was particularly superior, but it was definitely good. My wife had a bowl of soup noodles, that was number 11 on their menu. The broth was amazingly flavorful, and the handmade noodles were definitely top grade. The way it was cooked was also good, but a lot of the noodles were stuck to each other in the bowl, making it slightly less than attractive. Perhaps I am a bit picky because I have had so much other handmade noodles elsewhere. The flavor was amazing though, and we had a good time switching our bowls back and forth until all was gone. We spent about 1 hour in there from walking in the door until we paid and left. So time efficiency is good. Other people around us got other fried rice dishes that are in hot bowls, they looked and smelled amazing. Some other people got sushi from what I can see, and they seemed to be good quality as well. All in all, our experience was good, with a couple of small hiccups. We would definitely go back and try some of the other things that are available there.

Sodam is one of those restaurant that is super hidden (you have to know it in order to find it), but the food is so good that people find out about it over time. Its a very small restaurant with about 8 tables and it feels very cozy. If you want to impress your friends or acquaintances, bring them to Sodam to show off that you know of these hidden hideaways that serves delicious food. Everything on the menu is pretty much delicious and you cant go wrong with anything you order. I find that Sodam, Seoul House and Youngs are all very comparable in terms of food. They are all delicious and it really just comes down to the atmosphere and decor. Service is decent wherever you go as long as its not too busy. If you really want a hole in a wall place with very authentic Korean food that not a lot of people know about, then head on over to the small Korean market called Aisa Market. On Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, they serve some traditional Korean dishes that are very authentic. Its not a sit down restaurant. They have one table that you can order a little something and then sit there and eat it. There are only about 4 dishes that she makes, but theyre all great.

My favorite Korean restaurant so far. Theyve just expanded to include sushi and I havent tried their sushi yet to be fair, but the classic Korean dishes are amazing and affordable. Very friendly staff, and fast service. As with most Korean restaurants they start you off with an assortment of tiny "side dishes" like Spicy kim chi, garlicky bean sprouts, sweet and vinegary sea weed salad, and many more. Its just enough to whet your appetite for some Kim bap (a delicious sushi type roll without any raw or fishy ingredients) or scallion pancakes (crispy piping-hot savory rice cakes with chunks of scallion or Kim chi). Sodam is usually busy and rightly so. A bit tricky to find from the road, but definitely worth eating here more than once- theres so much to try!

The taste is so different than any other Korean food places I been too. The service is not good at all. There was another table too with about the same size as ours 4-5 people. The service was awesome for them but not for us. The two servers they were going over there and asking how the food is, but not coming to our table and asking us. It was super disappointing, we will not go there again.

My partner and I had been there few times. I never had a chance to write a review about this place. So, I thought their foods were absolutely delicious. Their Scallion pancakes were so GOOD because the texture was just right. Also, we like receiving 6 different side dishes (no charge) before the meals. This restaurant allows us to bring a bottle of wine or beer. Great staffs.

Great service. Great food. No wait on a Friday night. We got small portions of six different things before the meal: kimchi, bean sprouts, seaweed, spouts, tofu and something else delicious. My date and I shared two entrees and were stuffed by then end of it. The location and layout are a bit strange but dont be fooled: this place is amazing!

Ordered a vegetarian dish, fish was added, and when I asked the server if I could get it replaced, she was incredibly rude. I shouldnt have to go out of my way to ask to not have things that arent listed on a menu, and then made to look like an idiot for not doing so. Food was good otherwise, worst service Ive had in quite some time

recently had dinner at Sodam. the food was great and the staff was very friendly. we had bulgogi and bbq short rib combined with tofu kimchi hot soup. One thing i would mention though, it would be nice if the owner put more signs to make it more visible for first timer. perhaps put a sign at the back door facing the holiday inn.

Hate to give a bad review to any restaurant, but this was very subpar for a korean restaurant. Flavours are not close to what they should remotely be. Service was average. I heard the owner speaking in Korean berating one of the kitchen staff. Not in the open, but not in the back. Not professional.

This is our favorite Korean restaurant in the Henrietta area. A bit hard to find, and worth the effort. The food is excellent, and reasonably priced. The service is also attentive the times we have been there. Even people who dont usually think of Korean food can find something accessible.

Best Korean food in Rochester. Location is kinda weird, but once you go you wont forget about it. Seafood pancake is awesome and filled with an assortment of seafood, big enough to feed two. Bim bi bap bowl is delicious, as is the bulgogi and the short ribs. We never leave here hungry.

My personal favorite for Korean food in Rochester. Very friendly staff, delicious food. I like the kimchi pancakes, the Kimchi Chigae, and the BBQ. But really its all good. Its quite packed these days, so you might want to plan for a little wait (usually 5-10 minutes).
